The equalization scheme is based on over sampling technique and an independent component analysis network. The equalized sequence and its higher order statistics are used to identify the channel parameters. Compared to traditional equalization methods, the proposed approach is with a simple architecture, and does not need learning sequences. Computer simulations show the validity of the proposed method.展开更多

In particular, second-order bandpass sampling (BPS) as a technique that enables to realize the multiband reception function was discussed. In a second-order BPS system, digital reconstruction filters were utilized to eliminate the interferences generated while down converting arbitrarily positioned RF-band signals by using the direct digitization method. However, the inaccuracy in the phase shift or the amplitude mismatch between the two sample streams may cause insufficient rejection of interference. Practical problems were studied, such as performance degradation in signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) and compensation methods to overcome them. In order to demonstrate the second- order BPS as a flexible DFE suitable for software-defined radio (SDR) or cognitive radio (CR), a DFE testbed with a reconfigurable structure was implemented. Moreover, with a view to further demonstrate the proposed compensation algorithms, experimental results show that dual bands are received simultaneously.展开更多

To gain an insight of the resampling process and the filter, this paper contributes in three further respects as a sequel to the tutorial (Li et al., 2015). First, identical distribution (ID) is established as a general principle for the resampling design, which requires the distribution of particles before and after resampling to be statistically identical. Three consistent met- rics including the (symmetrical) Kullback-Leibler divergence, Kolmogorov-Smimov statistic, and the sampling variance are introduced for assessment of the ID attribute of resampling, and a corresponding, qualitative ID analysis of representative resampling methods is given. Second, a novel resampling scheme that obtains the optimal ID attribute in the sense of minimum sampling variance is proposed. Third, more than a dozen typical resampling methods are compared via simulations in terms of sample size variation, sampling variance, computing speed, and estimation accuracy. These form a more comprehensive under- standing of the algorithm, providing solid guidelines for either selection of existing resampling methods or new implementations展开更多

The new method transforms distorted images into the shearlet domain using a non-subsample shearlet transform(NSST), and designs the image quality feature vector to describe images utilizing natural scenes statistical features: coefficient distribution, energy distribution and structural correlation(SC) across orientations and scales. The final image quality is achieved from distortion classification and regression models trained by a support vector machine(SVM). The experimental results on the LIVE2 IQA database indicate that the method can assess image quality effectively, and the extracted features are susceptive to the category and severity of distortion. Furthermore, our proposed method is database independent and has a higher correlation rate and lower root mean squared error(RMSE) with human perception than other high performance NR IQA methods.展开更多
