By static experiments, the static hysteresis loop, the relationship of stiffness and amplitude, and the relationship between the energy dissipation coefficient and the amplitude are obtained. Analyses show that the wire-rope isolator presents obvious hysteresis characteristics, and the characteristics of the isolator, such as stiffness and damping, behave obviously nonlinearly when the amplitude value of deformation changes. At the same time, by changing the structure parameters of the wire-rope, the wirerope isolators can be made with different functions to satisfy different work conditions. The research results have important reference values for the application of the wire-rope isolator on the exterior pipeline of an aeroengine.展开更多

Wire ropes,employed extensively in coal mine hoists and transportation systems are subject to damage due to wear,corrosion and fatigue.The extent of damage and the carrying capacity of ropes are closely related to the...Wire ropes,employed extensively in coal mine hoists and transportation systems are subject to damage due to wear,corrosion and fatigue.The extent of damage and the carrying capacity of ropes are closely related to the sense of safety by staff and equipments.Magnetic flux leakage detection method(MFL),as an effective method,is these days widely used in detection of broken strands of wire ropes.In order to improve the accuracy of detection of flaws in wire ropes by magnetic flux leakage(MFL),the effect of the distance between a sensor and the surface of a wire rope(i.e.,lift-off) on detection by magnetic flux leakage was in-vestigated.An analysis of the main principles for the choice of lift-off is described by us and a new method that improves the structure of the detector is proposed from the point of view of the design of a magnetic circuit,to restrain the impact of fluctuations of sensor lift-off.The effect of this kind of method is validated by simulation and computation.The results show that the detection sensitivity is markedly increased by this method.Furthermore,the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) can be increased by over 28%.This method will lend itself to offer reliable scientific information to optimize the structure of excitation devices and improve the accuracy of MFL detection.展开更多
A6×19 point-contact hoisting cable was used as our research object to examine the progress of corrosion of steel wires in a laboratory,simulating the actual working conditions in a coalmine.An electrochemical met...A6×19 point-contact hoisting cable was used as our research object to examine the progress of corrosion of steel wires in a laboratory,simulating the actual working conditions in a coalmine.An electrochemical method was used to investigate the corrosion behavior of steel wires with different surface treatments of a corrosive acid solution.The results show that anode activation of steel wire mainly occurs during pre-corrosion,where the anode activation process of bare steel wires is the fastest as is their corresponding corrosion speed,while the anode activation process of oil coated steel wires and their corresponding corrosion speed are the lowest.During the intermediate and late immersion periods, a passive film is generated on the surface of steel wires,which are gradually damaged with the passage of time.Local pitting corrosion occurs easily on the surface of steel wires with a high-polarization potential. Suitable equivalent circuits were chosen to fit the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)of steel wires over various corrosive times and different surface treatments,which indicate good fitting results. The double electrical layer charge-transfer resistance increases in the sequence:bare steel wire, untreated steel wire and oil coated steel wire and their corrosion resistance decreases in turn,which is consistent with their polarization curves.The oil layer provides a certain protective effect on untreated steel wires,but its effect is not entirely clear.展开更多

First, we investigated the one-dimensi...In this paper, we propose a pre-processing method for the detection of wire-rope signals. This is necessary because of the lack of processing methods that are currently employed. First, we investigated the one-dimensional discrete morphological and wavelet transform. Then, we developed a pre-processing model that is based on the morphological wavelet-filtering algorithm. We then proposed a modified morphology filtering algorithm. We also designed an experiment platform for wire-rope detection.Eight levels of localized flaws(LFs) and damage were formed in the wire-rope specimen. We performed a series of experimental studies, and the results show that the proposed method can effectively filter the drift signal. The signal-to-noise ratio of the new filtering algorithm was over 26 d B. The signal-to-noise ratio of the existing method is less than 15 d B, and the noise-signal ratio of the new filtering algorithm has improved by 73%. Based on our results, the filtering effect of the proposed method is better than that of the present method. This study has great significance and practical value in engineering applications.展开更多
