Hyperspectral image date cube was first translated by 3-D wavelet and the 3-D fractal compression ceding was applied to lowest frequency subband. The remaining coefficients of higher frequency sub-bands were encoding by 3-D improved SPIHT. We used the block set instead of the hierarchical trees to enhance SPIHT's flexibility. The classical eight kinds of affme transformations in 2-D fractal image compression were generalized to nineteen for the 3-D fractal image compression. The new compression method had been tested on MATLAB. The experiment results indicate that we can gain high compression ratios and the information loss is acceptable.展开更多

The results of experimental investigation of laminar-turbulent transition in three-dimensional flow under the high continuous pressure gradient including the flow with local boundary layer separation are presented. Th...The results of experimental investigation of laminar-turbulent transition in three-dimensional flow under the high continuous pressure gradient including the flow with local boundary layer separation are presented. The experimental studies were performed within the Mach number range from 4 to 6 and Reynolds number 10-60×106 1/m, the angles of attack were 0° and 5°. The experiments were carried out on the three-dimensional convergent inlet model with and without sidewalls. The influence of artificial tubulator of boundary layer on transition and flow structure was studied. The conducted researches have shown that adverse pressure gradient increase hastens transition and leads to decrease of transition area length. If pressure gradient rises velocity profile fullness increases and profile transformation from laminar to turbulent occurs. As a result of it the decrease of separation area length occurs. The same effect was reached with Reynolds number increase. These results are compared with the data on two-dimensional model with longitudinal curvature.展开更多
For analyzing correlated binary data with high-dimensional covariates,we,in this paper,propose a two-stage shrinkage approach.First,we construct a weighted least-squares(WLS) type function using a special weighting sc...For analyzing correlated binary data with high-dimensional covariates,we,in this paper,propose a two-stage shrinkage approach.First,we construct a weighted least-squares(WLS) type function using a special weighting scheme on the non-conservative vector field of the generalized estimating equations(GEE) model.Second,we define a penalized WLS in the spirit of the adaptive LASSO for simultaneous variable selection and parameter estimation.The proposed procedure enjoys the oracle properties in high-dimensional framework where the number of parameters grows to infinity with the number of clusters.Moreover,we prove the consistency of the sandwich formula of the covariance matrix even when the working correlation matrix is misspecified.For the selection of tuning parameter,we develop a consistent penalized quadratic form(PQF) function criterion.The performance of the proposed method is assessed through a comparison with the existing methods and through an application to a crossover trial in a pain relief study.展开更多
As demonstrated by former work,the holed casing treatment can be used to expand the stall margin of a centrifugal compressor with unshrouded impeller.In addition,the choked margin can also be expanded as experimental ...As demonstrated by former work,the holed casing treatment can be used to expand the stall margin of a centrifugal compressor with unshrouded impeller.In addition,the choked margin can also be expanded as experimental results indicated.Moreover,the compressor performance,especially the efficiency,on the whole working range is improved.As shown by experiments,the stall margin and choked margin of the compressor are extended,and the maximum efficiency improvement is 14%at the large flowrate of 1.386.Numerical simulations were carried out to analyze the flow in the impeller and in the holes in the case of large flowrate.The results indicate that in large flowrate conditions,there is a low-pressure region on the throat part of the impeller passage,leading to the bypass flows appearing in the holes,which means the flow area at the inlet of the impeller is increased.The bypass flow can also contribute to the decrease of the Mach number at the throat part near the shroud end-wall which implies that the choked margin is expanded.Besides,as the bypass flow would inhibit the development of the vertexes in the tip clearance and suppress the flow recirculation in the shroud end-wall region,both the pressure ratio and efficiency of the compressor are improved,which agrees well with the experiments.展开更多
