This paper deals with the use of optimal control techniques in large-scale water distribution networks. According to the network characteristics and actual state of the water supply system in China, the implicit model, which may be solved by utilizing the hierarchical optimization method, is established. In special, based on the analyses of the water supply system containing variable-speed pumps, a software tool has been developed successfully. The application of this model to the city of Shenyang (China) is compared to experiential strategy. The results of this study show that the developed model is a very promising optimization method to control the large-scale water supply systems. 展开更多

Linking strategies to optimize the robustness of multimodal transport network 被引量:1

In view of the problem that the multimodal transport network is vulnerable to attack and faces the risk of cascading failure,three low polarization linking strategies considering the characteristics of the multimodal transport network are proposed to optimize network robustness.They are the low polarization linking strategy based on the degree of nodes(D_LPLS),low polarization linking strategy based on the betweenness of nodes(B_LPLS),and low polarization linking strategy based on the closeness of nodes(C_LPLS).The multimodal transport network in the Sichuan-Tibet region is analyzed,and the optimization effects of these three strategies are compared with the random linking strategy under random attacks and intentional attacks.The results show that C_LPLS can effectively optimize the robustness of the network.Under random attacks,the advantages of C_LPLS are obvious when the ratio of increased links is less than 15%,but it has fewer advantages compared with B_LPLS when the ratio of increased links is 15%to 30%.Under intentional attacks,as the ratio of increased links goes up,the advantages of C_LPLS become more obvious.Therefore,the increase of links by C_LPLS is conducive to the risk control of the network,which can provide theoretical support for the optimization of future multimodal transport network structures. 展开更多

In order to make better communication between each part, the chip designers need to explore a new structure to solve the interconnection of on-chip device. The paper proposes a network-on-chip dynamic and adaptive algorithm which selects NoC platform with 2-dimension mesh as the carrier, incorporates communication energy consumption and delay into unified cost function and uses ant colony optimization to realize NOC map facing energy consumption and delay. The experiment indicates that compared with random map, single objective optimization can separately saves (30% - 47 %) and ( 20% - 39%) in communication energy consumption and execution time compared with random map, and joint objective optimization can further excavate the potential of time dimension in mapping scheme dominated by the energy. 展开更多

Thus, the energy losses minimization implies not only the technical improvement of the network, through its renewal with the introduction of the technological innovations in the equipment and circuit components as well as the optimal planning of the design and development of the network, but also requires the use of the methods and software tools to facilitate the operation process. The paper presents a strategy for power / energy saving which is replacement of the 6 kV voltage level with 20 kV voltage level. Urban heating in northern China accounts for 40% of total building energy usage. In central heating systems, heat is often transferred from heat source to users by the heat network where several heat exchangers are installed at heat source, substations and terminals respectively. For given overall heating capacity and heat source tempera- tore, increasing the terminal fluid temperature is an effective way to improve the thermal performance of such cascade heat exchange network for energy saving. In this paper, the mathematical optimization model of the cas- cade heat exchange network with three-stage heat exchangers in series is established. Aim at maximizing the cold fluid temperature for given hot fluid temperature and overall heating capacity, the optimal heat exchange area dis- tribution and the medium fluids' flow rates arc determined through inverse problem and variation method. The preliminary results show that the heat exchange areas should be distributed equally for each heat exchanger. It al- so indicates that in order to improve the thermal performance of the whole system, more heat exchange areas should be allocated to the heat exchanger whore flow rate difference between two fluids is relatively small. This work is important for guiding the optimization design of practical cascade heating systems. 展开更多
