To improve the fault detection power of the partial least square (PLS) method for quality control, a new QRPV statistic is proposed in terms of the VP (variable importance in projection) indices of monitored process variables, which is significantly advanced over and different from the conventional Q statistic. QRPV is calculated only by the residuals of the remarkable process variables (RPVs). Therefore, it is the dominant relation between quality and RPV not all process variables (as in the case of the conventional PLS) that is monitored by this new VP-PLS (VPLS) method. The combination of QRPV and T2 statistics is applied to the quality and cost control of the Tennessee Eastman (TE) process, and weak faults can be detected as quickly as possible. Consequently, the product quality of TE process is guaranteed and operation costs are reduced.展开更多

Thirty female volunteers with age between 20 and 45 years old were kind...Evaluation for human body whitening effcacy of cosmetics with extract from Tricholoma matsutake Sing as main effective constituent was conducted. Thirty female volunteers with age between 20 and 45 years old were kindly invited to use the cosmetic product on the inner side of their crank arm for a testing period of 8 weeks continuously. Values of MI, L* and ITA° of the skin were measured and the results display signifcant difference ( P〈0. 05) before and after the 8 weeks testing period. Duncan multiple comparisons showed that the whitening effcacy of cosmetic product formulated with the extract from Tricholoma matsutake Sing is signifcantly greater than that of the formulation matrix and equivalent with that of ascorbyl ethyl ether. Via the data collection and statistical analysis, this method can directly refect the whitening effect of active additives in cosmetics, and it is suitable for the evaluation of the whitening effcacy of cosmetics with additives.展开更多

Consistency of this lamellar gel creams were checked for 1 month on various temperatures and for...We formulated new skin care cosmetics with lamella structure in which high amount of pseudo-ceramides were incorporated. Consistency of this lamellar gel creams were checked for 1 month on various temperatures and for 1 year on RT. Generally, multi-lamellar emulsion shows typical Maltese cross on polarized microscope, but Maltese cross was not found in case of these creams; Multi-lamellar structure of the creams could be identifed by small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). To evaluate skin barrier recovery function, we applied one of this creams and a vehicle cream to forearm skin which is tape-stripped to remove barrier layer to see if they infuence mass of molecules related to barrier function. 96 h after application, we found that this lamellar gel cream promoted synthesis of ceramides, amino acids and NMFs, thereby enhanced barrier recovery function.展开更多
