However, the neural mechanisms underlying these changes are not yet clear. This study was designed to investigate the influence of age and sex on the anatomy of the rat's visual cortex. Dendritic tree extent and spine density were examined in young adult rats (2-3 months) and aged male and female rats (22-24 months) using a modified Golgi-Cox staining method. A sex difference in dendritic branching of the pyramidal cells was found among young adults. However, this difference disappeared during aging, due to a reduction in branching with age for males but not for females. Moreover, the pyramidal cells of young males also have a greater spine density. Although there was a reduction in spine density with age for both sexes, this reduction was more pronounced for males, resulting in a disappearance of sex difference with age. Thus these results suggest that aging could lead to the degeneration of dendrites, which might contribute to the degradation of age-related visual functions. Also the results indicate that age-related degeneration of dendrites is more severe for males than for females.展开更多

The development of ageing in China has experienced three major stages. Firstly, in the 1950s, low coefficient of elderly population (over 65 years) paced up to primary adult type. Secondly, there was a deeply drop of the elderly population because of natural disaster and political factors in the 1960s. Thirdly, from the 1970s to the end of 20th century, the constant increasing of elderly coefficient made China close to elderly society. With statistic data of population, Logistic model is used to simulate the future development of ageing, and two characteristics of development of ageing are presented. Firstly, as for ageing from 2005 to 2050, the elderly coefficient will grow up significantly from 8.48% to 16.30%. Secondly, after 2025, the increasing rate of elderly coefficient will slow down gradually. The regional differences of elderly population in China can be summarized as follows: 1) the eastern China possesses higher elderly coefficient and huger elder population than the western China; 2) about 47.4% of municipalities and provinces in the eastern China become elderly especially Shanghai, Zhejiang Province, Jiangsu Province, Beijing, Tianjin and Shandong Province; 3) ageing intensity is higher in rural area than urban area but getting close each other, and there are more elderly people in rural area than in urban area. Therefore, these will arose aged care problems, and it becomes important issue to establish the social security system in rural areas as soon as possible for elderly people.展开更多

In the present study, we detected the expression of TGM3 in the mouse embryo using RT-PCR.TGM3 mRNA is weakly presented from E11.5 to E14.5 and increases significantly from E15.5 to birth. Then wedetermined the spatial and temporal expression pattern of TGM3 in the skin and other organs by in situ hybridization. Wefound a deprivation of TGM3 in skin at E11.5, while a rich supply in periderm cells and a weak expression in basal cellsfrom E12.5 to E14.5. From the period of E15.5 to E16.5, after keratinization in the epidermis, TGM3 was expressed inthe granular and cornified layers. The electron microscopic observation of the C57BL/6J mouse limb bud skin develop-ment provided several morphological evidences for the epidermal differentiation. The above findings suggest that theexpression of TGM3 plays a important role in the epidermis differentiation in embryogenesis.展开更多

The proportion of the tertiary industry and other indicators were used to explore the suitability of the development of eldedy care real estate, and cluster analysis was used to classify the sample areas according to the suitability. The results show that the 18 counties and cities in Ganzhou City could be divided into three categories, areas with poor suitability, areas with development potential, key development areas. Finally, suggestions were put forward that the target market of the development of old-age real estate could be comprehensively analyzed by combining the population development trend of the region with its thoughts and concepts, social and economic development, the maturity of the real estate market and the development of the service industry to ensure the sustainable operation of the old-age real estate.展开更多

We use data from more than 600 patients from different residences of different backgrounds: public and private, lay and religious, rural and urban. We performed a descriptive study expressing the results in percentages with standard deviation and later evaluated the statistical significance of the differences using the student's t-test for the quantitative and Chi-square variables to compare qualitative variables. The results of the study are numerous and of diverse nature, because of their extension, from the general profile of the resident, to the important gender differences, attributed in principle to the different roles of each gender in the studied generations. There are also differences depending on the funding, the reason for admission or the environment. This is at the end only the beginning of a large comparative study with non-institutionalized population, in order to compare this population.展开更多
