The modal analysis method is used to discuss the vibration energy of the typical model, as well as the power flow between the two subsystems. Furthermore, the resolution to the coupling loss factor is also derived and compared with the measured values. The analytical results of the coupling loss factor agree with the measured ones fully, this new resolution is significant for the application of SEA.展开更多

The EPD film changes the damping characteristic of magnesium alloy, and both the MAO and EPD process change the bending stiffness of samples being treated. Damping loss factor(DLF) test and sound transmission experiments were carried out for AZ31 B magnesium alloy with coating fabricated by MAO and EPD processes. The results indicate that DLF is improved in frequency range from 0-850 Hz. Bending stiffness of the samples is improved with MAO and EPD treatment. As a result, the sound transmission loss(LST) is improved in the stiffness control stage of the sound transmission verse frequency curve. To the samples by electrophoresis process, the LST is improved in frequency range from 2500-3200 Hz, because the damping loss factor is improved with EPD process. The results are useful for the surface treatment to enhance the damping loss factor, LST and widespread application of magnesium alloy while improving the corrosion resistance.展开更多

It is developed with the nominal composition of Fe735-Cu1-Ta3-Si13.5-B9 by single-roller melt spinning technique in air. The dielectric constant and loss factor have been measured both for as cast and annealed samples using Agilent Impedance analyzer. They are found to decrease with frequency up to 10 MHz and remain constant afterwards. The decrease of dielectric constant and loss factor with frequency is due to ceasing of orientational polarizability. Their constancy is owing to presence of only electronic contribution to its polarizability above 10 MHz. Three distinct regions (1-4 MHz, 4-10 MHz and 10 MHz-1 GHz) also noticed from its frequency dependence, which might make it useful in switching and sensor devices. The temperature dependence of dielectric constant and loss factor maintain inverse relationship: (1) dielectric constant increases, and (2) loss factor decreases with annealing temperature for structural relaxation due to thermal agitation.展开更多

The results of the study show that as the refractive index and thickness of the defect layer increase, the frequency of the defect mode decreases. In addition, the study shows that the frequency of the defect mode is sensitive to the incidence angle, polarization, and physical properties of the defect layer, but it is insensitive to the small lattice loss factor. The peak of the defect mode is very sensitive to the loss factor, incidence angle, polarization, refractive index, and thickness of the defect layer. This study also shows that the peak and the width of the defect mode are affected by the numbers of the lattice period and the loss factor. The results can lead to designing new types of narrow filter structures and other optical devices.展开更多
