Combining the unified colored noise approximation (UCNA) and the functional analysis, the stationary probability distribution (SPD) and the variance of the laser intensity is derived. It is found that the colored nature of multiplicative noise and the coupling strength between two noise terms can affect both the structure and the height of the SPD, while the colored nature of the coupling between two noise terms can only affect the height of the SPD. The multiplicative noise can enhance the intensity fluctuations while the additive noise can reduce the fluctuations in a laser system. Numerical simulations are presented and consistent to the analytical results.展开更多

A three-dimensional model of underwater towed system is studied. The established governing equations for the system have been solved using the central implicit finite-difference method. The obtained difference non-linear coupled equations are solved by Newton's method and satisfactory results were achieved. The solution of this problem has practical importance in the estimation of dynamic loading and motion, and hence it is directly applicable to the enhancement of safety and the effectiveness of the offshore activities.展开更多

In this model, a low level layer can be used as a virtual axis by the high level layer. The first advantage of this model is that the complex error model of a four-axis motion control system can be divided into several simple layers and each layer has different coupling strength to match the real control system. The second advantage lies in the fact that the controller in each layer can be designed specifically for a certain purpose. In this research, a three-layered cross coupling scheme in a four-axis motion control system is proposed to compensate the contouring error of the motion control system. Simulation results show that the maximum contouring error is reduced from 0.208 mm to 0.022 mm and the integration of absolute error is reduced from 0.108 mm to 0.015 mm, which are respectively better than 0.027 mm and 0.037 mm by the traditional method. And in the bottom layer the proposed method also has remarkable ability to achieve high contouring accuracy.展开更多

This proposed technique is utilized for discretizing the Schrodinger like equation and further, a pseudospectral discretization has been employed for the Boussinesq-like equation. Apart from that an implicit finite difference approach has also been proposed to compare the results with the solutions obtained from the time-splitting technique. Furthermore, the time-splitting method is proved to be unconditionally stable. The error norms along with the graphical solutions have also been presented here.展开更多

Optimal error estimates in L∞(0,T;L2) for concentration c,in L2(0,T;L2)for cxand L∞(0,T;L2) for velocity u are derived. The main technical difficulties in the analysis include the treatment of the inter-element jump terms which arise from the discontinuous nature of the numerical method, the nonlinearity, and the coupling of the models. Numerical experiments are performed to verify the theoretical results. Finally,we apply this method to the one-dimensional compressible miscible displacement problem and give the numerical experiments to confirm the efficiency of the scheme.展开更多
