The high order compact d if ference method is developed for solving the perturbation equations based on Navi er Stokes equations, and is used in studying complex evolution processes from w all negative pulse to the turbulent coherent structure in the channel flow. Th is method contains three dimensional coupling difference scheme with high accur acy and high resolution, and the high order time splitting methods. Compared with the general spectral method, the method can be used to research turbule nt coherent structure under more general boundary conditions and in flow domains . In this paper, the generation and evolution of the turbulent coherent structur es ind uced by wall pulse in the channel flow are simulated, and the basic characterist ics and rules of the turbulent coherent structure are shown. Computational r esults indicate that a wall negative pulse is more convenient than the resonant three wave model. 展开更多

A single-mode laser with coupling between additive and multiplicative noise terms is investigated when the multiplicative noise and the coupling between two noise terms are colored fluctuations with finite correlation times T1 and T2. Combining the unified colored noise approximation (UCNA) and the functional analysis, the stationary probability distribution (SPD) and the variance of the laser intensity is derived. It is found that the colored nature of multiplicative noise and the coupling strength between two noise terms can affect both the structure and the height of the SPD, while the colored nature of the coupling between two noise terms can only affect the height of the SPD. The multiplicative noise can enhance the intensity fluctuations while the additive noise can reduce the fluctuations in a laser system. Numerical simulations are presented and consistent to the analytical results. 展开更多

This article discusses the dynamic state analysis of underwater towed-cable when tow-ship changes its speed in a direction making parabolic profile path. A three-dimensional model of underwater towed system is studied. The established governing equations for the system have been solved using the central implicit finite-difference method. The obtained difference non-linear coupled equations are solved by Newton's method and satisfactory results were achieved. The solution of this problem has practical importance in the estimation of dynamic loading and motion, and hence it is directly applicable to the enhancement of safety and the effectiveness of the offshore activities. 展开更多

The sensor array calibration methods tailored to uniform rectangular array(URA)in the presence of mutual coupling and sensor gain-and-phase errors were addressed.First, the mutual coupling model of the URA was studied, and then a set of steering vectors corresponding to distinct locations were numerically computed with the help of several time-disjoint auxiliary sources with known directions. Then, the optimization modeling with respect to the array error matrix(defined by the product of mutual coupling matrix and sensor gain-and-phase errors matrix)was constructed. Two preferable algorithms(called algorithm I and algorithm II)were developed to minimize the cost function. In algorithm I,the array error matrix was regarded as a whole parameter to be estimated, and the exact solution was available.Compared to some existing algorithms with the similar computation framework, algorithm I can make full use of the potentially linear characteristics of URA's error matrix, thus, the calibration precision was obviously enhanced. In algorithm II,the array error matrix was decomposed into two matrix parameters to be optimized.Compared to algorithm I,it can further decrease the number of unknowns and, thereby, yield better estimation accuracy. However, algorithm II was incapable of producing the closed-form solution and the iteration operation was unavoidable.Simulation results validate the excellent performances of the two novel algorithms compared to some existing calibration algorithms. 展开更多

A layered modeling method is proposed to resolve the problems resulting from the complexity of the error model of a multi-axis motion control system. In this model, a low level layer can be used as a virtual axis by the high level layer. The first advantage of this model is that the complex error model of a four-axis motion control system can be divided into several simple layers and each layer has different coupling strength to match the real control system. The second advantage lies in the fact that the controller in each layer can be designed specifically for a certain purpose. In this research, a three-layered cross coupling scheme in a four-axis motion control system is proposed to compensate the contouring error of the motion control system. Simulation results show that the maximum contouring error is reduced from 0.208 mm to 0.022 mm and the integration of absolute error is reduced from 0.108 mm to 0.015 mm, which are respectively better than 0.027 mm and 0.037 mm by the traditional method. And in the bottom layer the proposed method also has remarkable ability to achieve high contouring accuracy. 展开更多

In the present paper the Riesz fractional coupled Schr6dinger-Boussinesq (S-B) equations have been solved by the time-splitting Fourier spectral (TSFS) method. This proposed technique is utilized for discretizing the Schrodinger like equation and further, a pseudospectral discretization has been employed for the Boussinesq-like equation. Apart from that an implicit finite difference approach has also been proposed to compare the results with the solutions obtained from the time-splitting technique. Furthermore, the time-splitting method is proved to be unconditionally stable. The error norms along with the graphical solutions have also been presented here. 展开更多

Due to the difficulty in obtaining the a priori estimate,it is very hard to establish the optimal point-wise error bound of a finite difference scheme for solving a nonlinear partial differential equation in high dimensions(2D or 3D).We here propose and analyze finite difference methods for solving the coupled GrossPitaevskii equations in two dimensions, which models the two-component Bose-Einstein condensates with an internal atomic Josephson junction. The methods which we considered include two conservative type schemes and two non-conservative type schemes.Discrete conservation laws and solvability of the schemes are analyzed. For the four proposed finite difference methods,we establish the optimal convergence rates for the error at the order of O(h^2+τ~2)in the l~∞-norm(i.e.,the point-wise error estimates)with the time stepτand the mesh size h.Besides the standard techniques of the energy method, the key techniques in the analysis is to use the cut-off function technique, transformation between the time and space direction and the method of order reduction. All the methods and results here are also valid and can be easily extended to the three-dimensional case. Finally, numerical results are reported to confirm our theoretical error estimates for the numerical methods. 展开更多

A combined method consisting of the mixed finite element method for flow and the local discontinuous Galerkin method for transport is introduced for the one-dimensional coupled system of incompressible miscible displacement problem. Optimal error estimates in L∞(0,T;L2) for concentration c,in L2(0,T;L2)for cxand L∞(0,T;L2) for velocity u are derived. The main technical difficulties in the analysis include the treatment of the inter-element jump terms which arise from the discontinuous nature of the numerical method, the nonlinearity, and the coupling of the models. Numerical experiments are performed to verify the theoretical results. Finally,we apply this method to the one-dimensional compressible miscible displacement problem and give the numerical experiments to confirm the efficiency of the scheme. 展开更多
