Methods: A total of 120 elderly patients with sensorineural deafness were randomly divided into a comprehensive treatment group, an acupuncture group and a Western medicine group, with 40 cases in each group. The acupuncture group received acupuncture treatment, the Western medicine group received oral mecobalamin tablets and the comprehensive treatment group received acupuncture plus acupoint injection and auricular acupoint sticking. The values of pure tone hearing threshold test of the three groups were observed before and after treatment, and the relationship between clinical effects and ear distending sensation was compared. Results: The total effective rate of the comprehensive treatment group was 82.5% versus 67.0% in the acupuncture group and 62.5% in the Western medicine group. The inter-group comparisons showed statistically significant differences in the comprehensive treatment group versus the Western medicine group (P〈0.01) and the acupuncture group (P〈0.05). In the comprehensive treatment group, there were 23 cases (57.5%) with ear distending sensation, the clinical total effective rate was 86.9%; there were 17 cases (42.5%) without the sensation, the clinical total effective rate was 76.5%. In the acupuncture group, there were 24 cases (60.0%) with ear distending sensation, the clinical total effective rate was 71.0%; there were 16 cases (40.0%) without the sensation, the clinical total effective rate was 63.0%. In the Western medicine group, there were 21 cases (52.5%) with ear distending sensation, the clinical total effective rate was 66.7%; there were 19 cases (47.5%) without the sensation, the clinical total effective rate was 57.9%. The total effective rate of patients with ear distending sensation were higher than the rates of those without ear distending sensation in the three groups, but the differences were insignificant (all P〉0.05). Conclusion: The comprehensive therapy is one of the effective methods to treat elderly patients with sensorineural deafness. In the three groups of elderly patients with sensorineural deafness, the relief of ear distending sensation and the hearing loss were basically simultaneous, and the hearing recovery in the patients with ear distending sensation may be slightly better than that in those without ear distending sensation. Nevertheless, further research is needed.展开更多

文摘Summary To review the general situation of acupuncture in treating vascular headache between 1949-2004 in an attempt to promote acupuncture practice, clinical references concerning acupuncture treatment of vascular headache were analyzed on the basis of Chinese Modern Acupuncture Database. From 1956, these references increased annually and steadily. In clini cal practice, needling is cardinally used, and the acupoints are selected adjacent to diseased oart and on syndrome differentiation.
文摘Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture(EA)in controlling myopia in children and its effect on retinal blood flow.Methods:Sixty-eight myopic children were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 34 cases in each group. The control group was given auricular acupressure treatment alone, and the observation group was treated with EA once a week in addition to the treatment used in the control group. The spherical equivalent refraction(SER)and axial length(AL)were measured at baseline, and after 3 months and 6 months of treatment.Optical coherence tomography angiography was used to measure the vessel density(VD)and perfusion density(PD)in the surface layer of the retina. Results:After 3 months and 6 months of treatment, the changes in SER between the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05).After 3 months of treatment, the changes in AL between the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05);after 6 months of treatment, the change amount of AL in the observation group was smaller than that in the control group(P<0.05);after 3 months and 6 months of treatment, the changes in VD and PD in the surface layer of the retina in the observation group were significantly greater than those in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:EA treatment once a week for 6 months can delay the increase of AL and improve the retinal surface blood flow in myopic children.
文摘Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus auricular plaster therapy for treating migraine. Methods: One hundred and fifty migraine patients were randomly allocated to an observation group (n=90) and a control group (n=60). 文摘Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus auricular point sticking in treating post stroke hiccups. Methods: Sixty patients with post stroke hiccups who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups according to their visiting sequence, and 30 patients in the treatment group were treated by acupuncture plus auricular point sticking, while the other 30 in the control group were treated by Metoclopramide via intramuscular injection. The efficacy was observed after the 3-day treatment. Results: The total effective rate in the treatment group was 93.3%, while 66.7% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P〈0.01). Conclusion: Acupuncture plus auricular point sticking therapy was more effective than metoclopramide in treating post stroke hiccups.
文摘Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus auricular point sticking for tension-type headache(TTH).Methods:A total of 90 TTH patients were divided into an acupuncture group,an auricular point sticking group and an observation group by random number table method, with 30 cases in each group.Patients in the observation group received acupuncture plus auricular point sticking for treatment, while those in the acupuncture group only received acupuncture and those in the auricular point sticking group only received auricular point sticking for treatment. The headache attack frequency and the scores of visual analog scale(VAS),self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)and self-rating depression scale(SDS)were observed before treatment, after treatment and 3 months after treatment. The clinical efficacy was evaluated at the follow-up of 3 months after treatment. Results:At follow-up,there were significant differences in clinical efficacy among the three groups(P<0.01 or P<0.05),and the clinical efficacy ranking from high to low was the observation group, the acupuncture group and the auricular point sticking group. After treatment and at follow-up,the VAS score, headache attack frequency,SAS and SDS scores in the three groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(all P<0.01).The above four results in the observation group were lower than those in the acupuncture group and the auricular point sticking group at the same time point(all P<0.01);VAS score in the acupuncture group was lower than that in the auricular point sticking group(both P<0.05).At follow-up,the headache frequency in the acupuncture group was lower than that in the auricular point sticking group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Either using acupuncture and auricular point sticking together or separately can reduce the headache degree of TTH patients, reduce the number of headache attacks, and relieve anxiety and depression. The efficacy of acupuncture plus auricular point sticking is most significant.
文摘Objective: To investigate the relationship between clinical effects of acupuncture for elderly patients with sensorineural deafness and ear distending sensation. Nevertheless, further research is needed.
