职业技术教育的特点及其作用

职业技术教育不同于普通教育。普通教育是基础教育,职业教育是专业教育。职业教育的培养目标和服务对象决定了它对社会需求专业人才的数量和结构变化要有一个灵敏的反映。

＂Half-a-Day＂ Syndrome： A Mode of Internalization of Vocational and Technical Education by the Youths in the 20th Century Nigeria

This research focused on ＂half-a-day＂ as a mode of internalizing vocational and technical education by the youths in Nigeria. It traced the origin of ＂half-a-day＂ linking it with the ingenuity of the youths to make the formal education that they have acquired operational. It also discussed the traditional education with its apprenticeship system as being modified through the ＂half-a-day＂ syndrome. The study is historical and descriptive therefore, social survey method was employed using unscheduled interview and consulting relevant literature. It was discovered that, apart from the failure of the educational system due to lack of proper infrastructure, the youths, especially those from the lower class, have reasoned that the salaries from the white-collar jobs may not be enough to sustain them. It is, therefore, recommended, among others, that： Government can institutionalise the ＂half-a-day＂ as a form of summer school and certify both the centres of learning and learners.

Ways of higher vocational college students＇ ideological and political education under the IT background

Higher Vocational Education is showing unprecedented good momentum of development, for a large number of vocational technical talents will be the training object of society. As the number of students in higher vocational colleges expands rapidly, their quality education and ability training have become more important. In conjunction with my teaching practice to engage in political work in colleges, from analyzing the problems of students ＇ ideological and political education, I elaborate approaches to strengthen students＇ ideological and political education.

Awareness and Perception of Genetic Modification among Science and Technical Vocational Teachers in Guyana： Focusing on Genetically Modified Foods

A study was conducted to determine the awareness and perception of biotechnology focusing on genetically modified foods among public secondary school science and technical vocational teachers in Guyana. A questionnaire was administered to 228 randomly selected teachers of 42 schools in six administrative regions of Guyana, representing about 90% of the population. The results revealed that there was a low level of awareness among the teachers： those who were knowledgeable about the subject were mainly Biology, Agricultural Science and Integrated Science teachers. Most teachers （almost 90%） indicated that the public is not receiving adequate information about genetically-modified foods and opined that the television should be the main medium to provide information. The study also revealed that teachers felt that ethical, religious and social issues should be considered when applying the technology. This view did not vary based on qualifications, years in the profession or subjects taught. Genetic modification was more acceptable to plant-based than animal-based foods, although they seemed ambivalent as to whether genetically modified foods can be harmful to their health. The implications of these findings are that more teachers in various subject areas should be informed about emerging issues in sciences to enable them to better analyze the subject matter, transfer information to the students, and form attitudes and opinions based on facts.

The Construction of the Major Clusters in Higher Vocational Colleges from the Perspective of Industrial Cluster

The development of industrial cluster plays a significant influence on the major construction of higher vocational colleges. In this paper, in combination with the practice of Jiangyin Polytechnic College, the interaction relationship between the construction of the major clusters in higher vocational colleges and the development of the regional industry clusters is analyzed, and then the significance and idea of constructing the maior clusters are introduced from the perspective of industrial cluster.

Analysis of Vocational Skills and Employment Countermeasures of the Art Postgraduates

In the year of 2011, the ministry of education increased the art discipline and established the Master of Fine Art （MFA）. At present, the national employment of art postgraduates has made progress in the training and development, however, the employment rate is relatively low. This article carries out an analysis on the causes of this current phenomenon combined with the orientation of professional skills and puts forward corresponding countermeasures.

Computer technology is one of the main technologies of the information society, the development of computer education satisfies for requirements to science, the world and the future, and it is an important part of students＇ quality education, it is of great significance to improve the scientific and cultural level of the students, to promote the teaching content modernization of education and teaching reform, to improve the quality of education and the level of management.

Exploration of the curriculum resource library construction of university network database

With the development of information technology, how to build a resource library that adapt to the development of vocational education, professional characteristics favor standardized resource sharing between vocational schools, scientific and open career teaching vocational education teaching reform and information technology become the urgent problem. This article starts from the repository construction characteristics and the actual situation of the College of departure, and actively explores the network database curriculum resource library building programs.

Empirical Studies of Ecological Civilization Education in Vocational Colleges--Take Chongqing Vocational Institute of Engineering as the Example

Vocational college students are an important force in the country＇s future socialist construction, and their concept of ecological civilization will directly affect the future of socialist construction. This article conducted a questionnaire survey by among 960 vocational college students, and it found that the presence of ecological civilization vocational colleges of education-related departments at all levels of ecological education vocational college students are lack of rational cognition, and the attention is not enough. Therefore, educators should explore effective ways of ecological civilization education colleges, the competent authorities in the school attaches great importance to play the main channel of the effectiveness of teachers and classrooms, and strengthen ecological civilization education; improving vocational college students initiative and practicality, strengthen ecological and environmental legal education to enable students to form a sense of ecological civilization and habits, in order to receive a good education results.
