社会环境的急速变化和竞争的充分展现让每个人都背负着压力前行。媒体的充分竞争让传统媒体尤其是市县级媒体面临着生死存亡的忧虑,让"前三年激情满怀,五年过后热情消退,十年以后趋于消沉"的职业疲惫来得更加猛烈,职业上由好... 社会环境的急速变化和竞争的充分展现让每个人都背负着压力前行。媒体的充分竞争让传统媒体尤其是市县级媒体面临着生死存亡的忧虑,让"前三年激情满怀,五年过后热情消退,十年以后趋于消沉"的职业疲惫来得更加猛烈,职业上由好奇而走向平淡带来的"审美疲劳"让一部分新闻工作者的疲劳感猛增。新闻工作是充满激情的创造,适度的压力带给个体的紧张状态有利于工作的进步、创新和个体的进步。但过度的压力不但影响新闻工作者的身心健康,还会造成不良情绪的传导和转移,影响新闻传播质量。分析新闻工作者职业压力的表现、形成原因,进而形成一定的保障机制,利用政治思想工作的传统优势加以引导,使其永葆激情,就是保证新闻传播质量的一个重要的工作。 展开更多

Objectives:This study seeks to understand the experiences of nurses who resigned because of limited available career development opportunities and of the possible reasons for their resignation.Methods:Semi-structured interviews were conducted with nine clinical nurses who experienced limitations in the development of their careers and consequently left their jobs to elicit their feelings and reasons for leaving.The content analysis was used to analyze the interview data.Results:Two themes and four subthemes relating to the experiences and attributions of former nurses were identified.Nurses who experienced career plateau were disappointed with the current work and uncertainty about the future.The attribution of career plateau lies in unsatisfied personal needs and the absence of organizational support.Conclusions:Nurses had strong career plateau experiences before they left,and it caused a series of negative feelings in their practice.Establish a clear career development path and multi-dimensional support from the organization may be helpful to reduce the occurrence of career plateau,thus increasing the retention of nurses. 展开更多

Length of stay in urban areas of circular migrants from the mountainous areas in China

Currently, there is limited literature dealing with the length of stay of circular migrants in urban areas (LSCMU), although many studies have discussed the phenomenon of migration and the determinants of migration.... Currently, there is limited literature dealing with the length of stay of circular migrants in urban areas (LSCMU), although many studies have discussed the phenomenon of migration and the determinants of migration. This study attempts to fill that gap using survey data from the mountainous areas of Chongqing, Southwest China. From a comparative perspective, this study divided workers into two groups (a young group aged between 16 and 35 years and an old group aged between 36 and 65 years). The average LSCMU values for the young and old groups were 225 days and ~74 days, respectively. Two multi-regression models were used to estimate the determinants of LSCMU in the two groups. The results showed that LSCMU was closely related to individual factors in both groups, including gender, age and job training. Family and community factors, including household size, arable land per capita and the distance from market, had much weaker effects on the dependent variable, especially in the older group. It was noticeable that job training had significant positive effects on LSCMU in both groups; these findings have special implications for the urbanization process in China. 展开更多

Explaining How: The Intelligibility of Mechanical Explanations in Boyle

In this paper I examine the following claims by William Eaton in his monograph Boyle on Fire: (i) that Boyle's religious convictions led him to believe that the world was not completely explicable, and this shows that there is a shortcoming in the power of mechanical explanations; (ii) that mechanical explanations offer only sufficient, not necessary explanations, and this too was taken by Boyle to be a limit in the explanatory power of mechanical explanations; (iii) that the mature Boyle thought that there could be more intelligible explanatory models than mechanism; and (iv) that what Boyle says at any point in his career is incompatible with the statement of Maria Boas-Hall, i.e., that the mechanical hypothesis can explicate all natural phenomena. Since all four of these claims are part of Eaton's developmental argument, my rejection of them will not only show how the particular developmental story Eaton diagnoses is inaccurate, but will also explain what limits there actually are in Boyle's account of the intelligibility of mechanical explanations. My account will also show why important philosophers like Locke and Leibniz should be interested in Boyle's philosophical work. 展开更多

Appeal of 3 + 4 Program: Good Students are Few but Growing at Secondary Vocational Schools in Shanghai

The 3 + 4 Pilo... Secondary vocational education in Shanghai continues to experiment in an attempt to find ways to solve the decline of student enrollment and adjust to rapidly changing social and economic environments. The 3 + 4 Pilot Program (three-year secondary vocational education and four-year undergraduate education) has been under experiment since 2014. It has attracted more and more academically good junior middle school graduates to secondary vocational schools with the national and local favorable policies and laws. Except the three-year’s hand-on practice, what appeals most to the junior middle school graduates is the academic transfer under the Program, a breakthrough in history of vocation education in China. However, only initiating a new program is not enough. Shanghai government should map out a long-term plan to set up promotion to increase the public awareness to change the long prevailing outdated ideology in order to add more to its appeal of the Program. There is still much work to be done before expanding the scope of the Program. 展开更多
