A polyether diol poly[3-bromomethyl-3-tridecafluorooctyloxymethyloxetane]glycol(PFBOX 3) was prepared in 91% yield from ring opening polymerization of 3-bromomethyl-3-tridecafluorooctyloxymethyloxetane 2 which was der...A polyether diol poly[3-bromomethyl-3-tridecafluorooctyloxymethyloxetane]glycol(PFBOX 3) was prepared in 91% yield from ring opening polymerization of 3-bromomethyl-3-tridecafluorooctyloxymethyloxetane 2 which was derived from 3,3-dibromomethyloxetane 1 and 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctanol.The waterborne fluorinated polyurethane FPU was thus obtained by condensed polymerization of PFBOX 3 with isophoronediisocyanate(IPDI).The structure of FPU was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FTIR).FPU showed good thermal stability under 300℃.The surface properties of FPU were studied by applied on cotton fabric.The treated fabric surface showed excellent water repellent property as the contact angle reached 147°.On the other hand,the surface showed slightly oil repellent property as the contact angle for nujol droplet was 126°.展开更多
The current concern with the environment promotes the development of new technologies for production with use of alternative materials, from renewable resources, and changes in production processes, having as main obj...The current concern with the environment promotes the development of new technologies for production with use of alternative materials, from renewable resources, and changes in production processes, having as main objective the reduction of environmental impact. One of the alternatives for cleaner production is the use of castor oil derivatives instead of non-renewable sources, such as adhesives based on PVA (polyvinyl acetate), applied in the manufacturing process of glued laminated bamboo. Based on the versatility of the bamboo laminate and the castor oil, and from the perspective of sustainability, this study aims to contribute to the application of new materials and processes, used in the manufacturing industry, by proposing the use of the polyurethane adhesive based on castor oil for glued laminated bamboo manufacturing, which can later be used in the manufacture of several products. To verify the applicability of the polyurethane adhesive based on castor oil in the glued laminated bamboo manufacture, mechanical tests of traction and shearing of the glue sheet were performed in specimens of the said material, and the results were compared with the Cascorez 2590 and Waterbond adhesives. The results showed that the polyurethane adhesive based on castor oil, in the traction test, has superior performance than the Waterbond adhesive and slightly below than the Cascorez 2590 adhesive, but in the shear test, the polyurethane adhesive based on castor oil presented a slightly inferior performance than the other two adhesives used in the comparison.展开更多
In the practice of petroleum industry, adding cold flow improver (CFI) to lower the fuel's cold filter plugging point (CFPP) is an effective and economic way for improving the cold flow performance of diesel fuel...In the practice of petroleum industry, adding cold flow improver (CFI) to lower the fuel's cold filter plugging point (CFPP) is an effective and economic way for improving the cold flow performance of diesel fuel. This paper described the synthesis and evaluation of the performance of dibehenyl fumarate-vinyl acetate (FV) copolymer for improving the cold flow performance of the tested diesel fuels. The carbon distribution in n-alkanes of the tested diesel samples were analyzed by gas phase chromatography. The structure of the copolymer was confirmed by the 1H NMR spectroscopy. The wax crystals morphologies with and without adding the FV additive were investigated by means of polarizing microscope. The test results indicated that the FV additive could depress CFPP of the tested diesel samples by 2℃ and 4℃, respectively, when dosage of the additive was 0.08 m%. The additive can modify the size and shape of the wax crystals and inhibit the formation of larger wax crystal lattices.展开更多
