[Objective] This study was conducted to identify the thermo-sensitivity of the male sterile line (NYB) of Ningxia hot pepper. [Method] The pol en abortion rates of pepper male sterile line under artificial y control ed temperature condition and nature temperature condition were measured and compared. [Result] The pol en abortion was the sign of NYB male sterility. The pol en abortion rate changed little under different temperature conditions, while pol en amount greatly reduced at low temperature, indicating that NYB was genetical y stable in field. [Conclusion] The re-sults can provide some theoretical references for the application of NYB pepper male sterile line in breeding work. 展开更多

[Objective] The study aimed to reveal the effect of photoperiod and temperature on male fertility of cytoplasmic male sterile line Vtai911289a in wheat and discuss the mechanism of male fertility alteration. [ Method ... [Objective] The study aimed to reveal the effect of photoperiod and temperature on male fertility of cytoplasmic male sterile line Vtai911289a in wheat and discuss the mechanism of male fertility alteration. [ Method ] The sowing-date tests and designed conditions were conducted during 2003 -2005. [ Result] Fertility of Vtai911289a, could alter under specific photoperiod and temperature conditions. Temperature is one of the main factors influencing male fertility of the male sterile lines. Vtai911289a, showed stable sterility under the condition of the mean of daily temperature at fertility sensitive stage lower than 19℃ and presented partial fertility when the mean of daily temperature at fertility sensitive stage lower than 20 - 22℃. Photoperiod to some extent affects the male fertility of Vtai911289a, long-day condition is helpful for the male fertility of the sterile line. [ Conclusion] The application of photoperiod temperature-sensitive cytoplasmic male sterile line in production has a higher safety than that of temperature sensitive sterile line. 展开更多

[Objective]The research aimed at constructing an accumulated temperature effect model for fertility alteration of two-line hybrid rice P88S.[Method]Analyze the experiment datas of fertility alteration of P88S in Hainan from 2005 to 2006.[Result]The fertilities of P88S with temperatures ranging from 26 to 28 ℃ were determined by the absolute values and the accumulation effects of the temperature.An accumulation effect model of temperatures based on the bistable state was obtained.[Conclusion]The temperature asymmetry of fertility alteration for two-line sterility line in spring and autumn can be elucidated effectively using the accumulated temperature effect model,namely,alternating from fertile to sterile requires higher temperatures,and alternating from sterile to fertile requires lower temperatures. 展开更多

Quantitative Traits of Ion Beam Induced Mutagenesis in Triticum aestivum 被引量:1

[Objective] The aim of this study was to elucidate the quantitative traits of plants mutagenized by ion beam. [Method] The particular variation phenotypes, a- gronomic traits, and protein and wet gluten contents of progenies derived from the same ion beam induced mutant were investigated. [Result] Morphological polymor- phism existed in some individuals. Plant height, spike length and protein content were significantly influenced by ion beam, and effective tiller number and wet gluten content were moderately influenced. Multiple comparisons of all the indices within groups indicated genomic instability among these groups. Coefficient of variation im- plied the differences within group were very low. [Conclusion] Ion beam irradiation displayed characteristics of multi-directivity and non-directiveness. It aroused multiple variations in the same mutant. Instability among progeny indicates cells had different fate even in the same irradiated tissue. It may take several generations for mutants to stabilize particular phenotypes. The effects of ion beam irradiation may be the in- terrelated direct irradiation damage, indirect irradiation damage and late effect, such as bystander effect and adaptive response. 展开更多

From the view of methodology for genetic improvement ofJaponicacytoplasmic male sterile(CMS) lines,we introduced the breeding process of the dwarf-abortive type(DA type)JaponicaCMS line Chunjiang 95A with wide compatibility,and further investigated the biological characteristics of the DA type Chunjiang 95A and its isonuclear alloplasmic CMS line Dian-I type Chunjiang 95A.The results show that DA type Chunjiang 95A is a japonicalinous CMS line and mainly typical abortive,which is better in fertility stability than stained abortive typeJaponica CMS lines.The DA type Chunjiang 95A is featured with high stigma exsertion,good flowering habit,high outcrossing rate and wide compatibility.Its recoverability differs from stained abortive typeJaponicaCMS lines.Moreover,we discussed genetic improvement of the typical abortive type JaponicaCMS lines and the application prospects of heterosis. 展开更多
