Methods: The expression of Survivin mRNA was detected by FISH method and tissue microarray technology. 89 cases of primary lung cancer, 12 cases of lymph node metastasis of lung cancer, 12 cases of precancerous lesion and 10 cases of normal lung tissue were examined. Results: 69.7% of primary lung cancer express Survivin mRNA; the positive ratio of primary lung cancer and precancerous lesion were both significantly higher than that of normal lung tissue (P〈0.05); the expression of Survivin mRNA was related to the differentiation degree, lymph node metastasis and clinical stages (P〈0.05). Conclusion: FISH has good sensitivity and stability. Tissue microarray technology has many advantages, such as high efficiency, high throughput, etc; it may have good prospect in pathology. Survivin mRNA was highly expressed in lung cancer and precancerous lesion; it was related to the progress and malignant behavior; it may play a promotion role in lung cancer genesis and progress and offer basis to early diagnosis, prognosis estimate and treatment.展开更多

Methods: The postoperative complications of 31 patients with moderate pulmonary hypofunction (study group) and 62 patients with normal pulmonary function (control group) were reviewed. Statistical t test and χ^2 test were set to examine the data, and logistic regression was performed to find the associated factors. Results: In patients with moderate pulmonary hypofunction, hypoxemia (41.9%), arrhythmia and cardiac dysfunction (25.8%), and pulmonary inflammation (25.8%) were common postoperative complications, and respiratory failure and cardiac failure (9.2%) severe complications. In-hospital mortality rate was 3.2%. In the control group, the incidence of the above 4 postoperative complications was 16.1%, 8.1%, 9.6% and 3.2% accordingly, and no case died in hospital. Regression analysis showed that age and resection range were associated with the occurrence of the complications. Conclusion: Common postoperative complications (hypoxemia) in patients with moderate pulmonary hypofunction are remarkably higher than those in control group, but severe complications and in-hospital mortality rate are not significantly high. Patients with older age and larger resection range undergo higher complication rate.展开更多

Methods: CT ?ndings of 131 cavitary metastatic nodules in 40 patients with pathologically-proved pulmonary metastases were retrospectively analyzed. A comparison between CT signs and the pathologic types of the primary tumors was made. Results: Cavitary metastases and multiple solid nodules coexisted in all patients. Cavitary metastases presented as bubble (n=41), irregular (n=33), cystic (n=26) or small circular (n=31) cavities, with even (n=61) or uneven (n=70) thickness of the cavity wall. Of 131 cavitary nodules, diameter less than 15 mm was seen in 44, between 15–25 mm in 66, 25–40 mm in 17 and larger than 40 mm in 4 respectively. And the wall thickness of the cavity below 4 mm, between 4–15 mm and over 15 mm was respectively seen in 69, 44 and 18 metastatic nodules. Cavitary pulmonary metastases mainly occurred in patients whose primary malignancy was squamous cell carcinoma (n=13) or adenocarcinoma (n=22). Both squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma had its own CT characteristics. The occurrence of cavity bore no relationship to its site in the lung. Conclusion: Cavitary pulmonary metastases carries certain CT features and its occurrence is related to the pathologic type of the primary malignancy.展开更多
