Al-Mg alloys are considered to have potentials to form twins during deformation because Mg can reduce the intrinsicstacking fault energy?ISFE of Al.Nevertheless,twinning has rarely been found in Al-Mg alloys even subjected to various severeplastic deformation(SPD)techniques.In order to probe the twinning propensity of Al-Mg alloys,first-principles calculations werecarried out to investigate the effects of Mg and vacancies on the generalized planar fault energy(GPFE)of Al.It is found that bothMg and vacancies exhibit a Suzuki segregation feature to the stacking fault,and have the influence of decreasing the?ISFE of Al.However,?ISFE does not decrease and the twinnability parameterτa of Al does not increase monotonically with increasing Mgconcentration in the alloy.On the basis ofτa evaluated from the calculated GPFE of Al-Mg alloys,we conclude that deformationtwinning is difficult for Al-Mg alloys even with a high content of Mg.Besides,the decrease of?ISFE caused by the introduction ofMg and vacancies is supposed to have the effect of improving the work-hardening rate and facilitating the formation of bandstructures in Al-Mg alloys subjected to SPD. 展开更多

Aiming at the application of a wireless sensor network to locating miners in underground mine,we design a wireless sensor network location node system,considering the communication performance and the intrinsic safety. The location node system consists of a mobile node,several fixed nodes,and a sink node,all of whose circuits were designed based on CC2430. A varistor and a RC circuit were used in the reset circuit of a sensor node to guarantee the intrinsic safety by reducing discharge energy,the theoretical analysis of the discharge energy shows that the reset circuit is an intrinsic safety one. The analysis and simulation about the performance of the location node system are discussed,such as network communication delay and packet loss rate,the results show that the highest network communication delay of the system is about 0.11 seconds,and the highest packet loss rate is about 0.13,which assures the location node system has a high reliability,and can locate miners in the underground mine. 展开更多

The 11th Five Year Plan has divided national functional zones in the basic unit of county-level administrative region.After implementation of national Major Function-oriented Zones (MFOZ) at prefecture and county levels,the spatial development sequence must be specified,development intensity must be limited,oriented zones must be designated and "red line" areas of spatial governance must be defined.In view of the above,choosing a typical county area and exploring its functional zoning after orienting its major functions will supply reference for carrying out the national spatial planning in the 12th Five Year Period,and it will also provide experience for the study of function regionalization which is the theme of MFOZ in the present academic circles.In this paper,the authors take Shangyu County as an example to study the general principles,train of thought of county-level functional regionalization in development-optimized areas,and to explore its reasonable functional zoning plan.Consequently,the authors present five principles and suggest a function-oriented zoning plan with 2 levels and 4 types. 展开更多

Primary coarse wet grinding (d80:186 μm) followed by rough... A low grade graphite ore from eastern India was beneficiated by flotation to improve its quality. The ore was composed of 87.80%ash and 8.59%fixed carbon. Primary coarse wet grinding (d80:186 μm) followed by rougher flotation in Denver flotation cell using diesel as collector and pine oil as frother yielded a rougher concentrate. Regrinding (d80:144 μm) of this rougher concentrate was opted for further libera-tion of graphite. It was followed by cleaning in laboratory flotation column. This combined process of relatively coarse primary grinding followed by regrinding and cleaning in flotation column resulted in final concentrate of 7.44% yield with 89.65% fixed carbon and 6.00% ash. This approach of two-stage grinding to recover the flake graphite at the coarsest possible grind can help to minimize grinding energy costs. A conceptual flow sheet which is cost effective was developed based on this methodology. 展开更多

The article suggests to replace the conventional unit of thermodynamic temperature with one based on the energy unit joule by including the gas constant into the temperature definition. The suggestion may be seen as a contribution to the ongoing efforts to redefine base units. The gas constant includes the Boltzmann constant which both will be abrogated and molar heat capacity and entropy will become dimensionless pure numbers. The suggestion has no impact on thermodynamic theory, but will make thermodynamic relations more translucent and easier to grab for students. 展开更多

A quasi-experiment was conducted in an English teaching institution with tests as data collection instruments. The quantitative study indicates that CBI brings better outcome than Skill-Oriented Instruction (SOI) in developing language knowledge, language skills and disciplinary knowledge, achieving the general objectives of the national curriculum more effectively than the conventional SOL The findings throw a positive light on the reform of the national curriculum for English as a specialty and the education of English majors in China. 展开更多

Fitting Single Particle Energies in sdgh Major Shell

We have performed two kinds of non-linear fitting procedures to the single-particle energies in the sdgh major shell to obtain better shell model results. The low-lying energy eigenvaiues of the light Sn isotopes with A = 103 - 110 in the sdgh-shell are calculated in the framework of the nuclear shell model by using CD-Bonn two-body effective nucleon- nucleon interaction. The obtained energy eigenvalues are fitted to the corresponding experimental values by using two different non-linear fitting procedures, i.e., downhill simplex method and clonai selection method. The unknown single-particle energies of the states 2s1/2, ld3/2, and Oh11/2 are used in the fitting methods to obtain better spectra of the 104,106,108,110Sn isotopes, We compare the energy spectra of the 104,106,108,110Sn and 103,105,107,109Sn isotopes with/without a nonlinear fit to the experimental results. 展开更多

Basic properties of the median and its sample version are provided. Especially, the strong consistency of sample median is gained under weaker condition. Robustness of the median and its sample version is discussed. Besides ease of computation, it is shown that L^2-median has both good large-sample and robust properties. Simulation studies are also given to compare the breakdown point of L^2-median with that of other depth-induced medians. 展开更多
