[Objective] This study aimed to provide a theoretical basis for the genetic improvement of maize quality in Shanxi Province. [Method] The variations in unit weight, crude starch content, crude protein content, crude fat content and lysine content of maize cultivars approved by Shanxi Province during 2003-2012 were analyzed. [Result] In Shanxi Province, the average unit weight and crude starch content of maize cultivars approved during 2003-2012 were trended to be increased;the crude fat contents of maize cultivars approved during 2003-2012 showed no significant changes; the lysine contents of maize cultivars approved during 2003-2008 were essentially unchanged; the crude protein contents of maize cultivars approved during 2003-2012 declined slightly. [Conclusion] The crude starch content and unit weight of maize increased with the increased yield; the crude protein content, crude fat content and lysine content showed certain stability, and they were mainly controlled by genes. Therefore, the breeding of particular maize should be strengthened. 展开更多

The use of agro-industria... Microalgae have been evaluated as a source of lipids for biodiesel production. They can be grown on effluent and produce biomass while removing organic and mineral components from the medium. The use of agro-industrial wastes for the production of microalgae is an alternative to reduce the costs related to the composition of the culture medium, thus reducing operational costs considerably. This work was conceived as a research about the cultivation of microalgae Scenedesmus acuminatus on the substrate composed by corn steep liquor. A central composite design (CCD) was carried to study the influence of the effluent and inoculum concentration on the chemical oxygen demand (COD) of the culture. Statistical analysis indicated that the percentage of inoculum and effluent had an influence on the COD. The cultivation, together with the coagulation procedure, was efficient for the removal of organic matter, verified through the COD reduction and changing of pH value. These two parameters reached the appropriate level according to the standard required by current legislation. 展开更多

宁夏的地质条件决定了不可能有硬玉、软玉这样的高档玉石产出,但是,中、低档玉石还是有一定前景的。经过地质工作者的持续努力已经发现的玉石资源主要有:贺兰石、竹叶石、朔花石、同心石、米脂玉、碧玉六种。另外尚有石榴子石片麻岩、... 宁夏的地质条件决定了不可能有硬玉、软玉这样的高档玉石产出,但是,中、低档玉石还是有一定前景的。经过地质工作者的持续努力已经发现的玉石资源主要有:贺兰石、竹叶石、朔花石、同心石、米脂玉、碧玉六种。另外尚有石榴子石片麻岩、石英岩、石英片岩等岩石具有成为新型玉石的潜力。目前,宁夏玉石资源,除了贺兰石一枝独秀,形成一定规模的开发利用外,其余几种均未能有效地开发利用。经过在对各玉石矿点的地质特征进行调查和加工工艺性能试验的基础上,对宁夏玉石资源开发利用现状及前景进行了分析。认为石英岩,石榴子石片麻,碧玉岩,石英片岩,同心石最具开发潜力,建议以市场为导向,合理规划玉石用途,加强我区宝玉石资源开发利用。 展开更多

Superabsorbent polymers(SAPs) as soil moisture conditioners have been increasingly used in agriculture, but conflicting results were reported regarding the effects of SAPs on crop growth. In this study, both laboratory cultivation and analysis were conducted to investigate the effects of different SAPs on the growth and physiology of crops under water-saving agricultural practices. Maize(Zea mays L.) seedlings were cultivated using distilled water or three different SAP hydrogels, sodium polyacrylate(SP), potassium polyacrylate(PP), and sodium polyacrylate embedded with phosphate rock powder(SPP), as growth media. Growth characteristics of the model plant and damage were assessed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). The results showed that both the SP and PP treatments had pronounced negative effect on the hydrogels of growth of maize seedlings. The SPP treatment appeared to facilitate the stem-leaf growth and had no obvious adverse effect on root growth. All the three hydrogel treatments caused varying degrees of damage to the organizational structure and cellular morphology of the roots, with the SP and PP treatments causing the most severe damage; the membrane system of root cells was damaged by both SP and PP treatments. An excessive accumulation of sodium and reduction of calcium occurred in the roots may be responsible for the observed damage to the cell membrane system, which, in turn, may have promoted the wilting of the cells. 展开更多
