Methods Comprehensive therapy was applied to all of 189 cases of any type of spinal stenosis, in which gukong needling technique was applied to Huatuo Jiaji (夹脊EX-B 2) at C4 - T5 and T12 - L5, associated with vertebral curvature adjustment with traction. The therapeutic effects were observed. Results Total effective rate was 96.8%, in which, clinical cured rate was 31.7% and excellent and good rate was 89.9% in average 28-month fol- low-up visit. Conclusion Spinal stenosis is segmental dynamic stenosis. It can be cured by acupuncture on Huatuo Jiaji (夹脊EX-B 2) and vertebral curvature adjustment and satisfactory result is achieved.展开更多

METHODS: T(12)-L(3) spines were tracted longitudinally with a special spinal retractor that was put on the proccessus transverses of T(12)-L(3) vertebrae of the rat after exposing T(13)-L(2) spinal cord via dual laminectomy. At the same tine, the spinal cord function was monitored by cortical somatosensory evoked potential (CSEP). Rats were randomly divided into four groups according to the amplitude of CSEP P(1)-N(1) wave, the amount of the decreasing P(1)-N(1) wave was 30% (the 30% group), 50% (the 50% group) and 70% (the 70% group), respectively. After traction, the changes of the neural behavioral function in rats were observed and the morphological structure of the spinal cord was analyzed quantitatively with image analysis system of computer. RESULTS: With traction of spine, compared with the control group, the 30% group had no marked difference in combined behavioral score (CBS), neuron count, section area of neuron and Nissl body density, but the 50% and 70% groups had marked difference (P展开更多

Methods: To allocate 90 cases randomly into three groups and adopt therapies of 3-D traction, electroacupuncture on Jiaji(Ex-B 2) points and comprehensive method (combination of electroacupuncture on Jiaji(Ex-B 2) points and 3-D traction) and then compare the pre-treatment and post-treatment result with scores of clinical symptoms and clinical efficacy. Results: After 4-week treatment, the group of comprehensive therapy showed better effect than the other two groups. Conclusions: Electroacupuncture on Jiaji(Ex-B 2) points plus 3-D traction has positive effect on herniation of lumbar intervertebral disc.展开更多

Methods: Tuina plus traction was applied to 40 teenagers with cervical distortion once every other day, and 10 days make up 1 treatment course. The therapeutic effect was evaluated after 2 courses. Result: Significant changes occurred after the treatment: 15 cases got correction, 20 cases got substantial improvement and 5 cases got certain improvement. Conclusion: Tuina plus traction works effectively for abnormal cervical physiological curve in teenagers.展开更多
