But whether the SACs in China can fully fulfill the purpose, to what extend can learners gain benefits to develop autonomy, and what are the possible ways for improvement are quite necessary to investigate since there starts to emerge various problems during the implementation of SACs. This paper aims to analyze the prevalent establishment of SACs in China in order to find out the reasons for prevalence, the current implementing mode, the degree of effectiveness on developing learner autonomy, especially potential problems and causes, and finally put forward some suggestions pedagogical implications for improving.展开更多

The anthropological view, taken by Birdwhistell and others, is compared with a Darwinian perspective. In particular, the author looks at how physical appearance, space, and gestures function in a natural way to protect the individuals who are participating in the exchange. Apparent deceit is frequently the result of such interactions. While the traditional arguments arising from religious tenets are discussed, the author explains how the nature approach has been reinforced in the 20th and 21st centuries with DNA and neurological investigations. In the study of nonverbal communication, the arguments about nature and nurture began in the middle of the 20th century with anthropologists, especially Birdwhistell, taking the nurture stance and others taking the nature stance. Ekman's nature stance on kinesics started from premises suggested by Charles Darwin. In large measure, it is because of Ekman's extensive work that the "balance" has somewhat shifted toward a nature view.展开更多

The new school-enterprise cooperation model is an effective way for Tianshi College to train high-quality skilled personnel, an important carrier to deepen the production-study-research cooperation education, and also an important part to improve the work quality of personnel cultivation. In China, it is an urgent need of the current employment situation, but also an important strategy for Tianshi College to attain a lon^-term stable develot^ment. Over the years many famous scholars and experts from many aspects and multidimensional perspective discusses the role and importance of laboratory work and practice of education and teaching, practice shows that: the degree of awareness and attention to a university laboratory construction and practice teaching in a sense reflects the understanding of the university personnel training and higher education. In the past, "focus on the theory and lighten the practice," the idea has far-reaching impact, now we want to change old ideas; this is because in today' s quality education, construction, laboratory and practical education reform teaching content and methods are a part of education reform. We attach great importance to the English school laboratory building. In the new campus, the school has invested heavily to build five advanced equipment, it is a leading English Autonomous Learning Center. Independent Learning Centre is to stimulate students 'interest in learning, develop students' ability to multi-faceted, full use modern teaching equipment to improve English skills platform of independent centers of learning effect.展开更多

Methods: Natural AK auto-Ab was purified by using keratin affinity column, and then the titre and specificity of the Abs were studied by ELISA, immunoperoxidase staining and immuno-electronicmicroscope. The effect of the purified Abs on the cultured keratino-cytes was assayed by 3H-TdR incorporation. Results: Natural AK auto-Ab was obtained. The binding activity of IgG AK auto-Ab in purified Ah remained similar to that in pooled human sera. and the specificity of the obtained antibody is strong. The purified antibody could decrease the Il-TdR incorporation of the cultured keratinocytes in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion: The method of punning AK auto-Ab is simple, practicable and reliable. Natural AK auto-Ab, existing in normal human individuals, has inhibitory etiect on the proliferation of the cultured keratinocytes.展开更多

Studies in metacognition suggest that the ideal way to accomplish this is through metacognitive strategy training. Research also indicates that effective training programs depend on monitoring. To cultivate self-regulation or learner autonomy, it is necessary to exert external monitoring at the beginning, and gradually reduce external supervision as the students become more autonomous. The present study argues for cooperative group learning and regular evaluation as the main monitoring strategies. A semester long study indicates that cooperative group learning, besides being valuable in cultivating social relationship, and fostering cooperation and learner autonomy, can also serve as a good monitoring strategy in metacognitive strategy training. Regular evaluation, when it is progress- oriented and learner-centered, and conducted at proper times, will also provide valuable information for students to check, evaluate and adjust their learning. Self-questioning sheets and learner portfolios are also useful techniques in monitoring students' learning.展开更多

Its various pharmaceutical applications cause an excessive harvesting and lead to serious shortage in natural habitat. Thus, this in vitro propagation study investigated the effects of different plant growth regulators (PGRs) on in vitro leaf and stem explants of L. pumila. Methods: The capabilities of callus, shoot, and root formation were evaluated by culturing both explants on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with various PGRs at the concentrations of 0, 1, 3, 5, and 7 mg/L. Results: Medium supplemented with 3 mg/L indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) showed the optimal callogenesis from both leaf and stem explants with (72.34±19.55)% and (70.40±14.14)% efficacy, respectively. IBA was also found to be the most efficient PGR for root induction. A total of (50.00±7.07)% and (77.78±16.47)% of root formation were obtained from the in vitro stem and leaf explants after being cultured for (26.5±5.0) and (30.0±8.5) d in the medium supplemented with 1 and 3 mg/L of IBA, respectively. Shoot formation was only observed in stem explant, with the maximum percentage of formation ((100.00±0.00)%) that was obtained in 1 mg/L zeatin after (11.0±2.8) d of culture. Conclusions: Callus, roots, and shoots can be induced from in vitro leaf and stem explants of L. pumila through the manipulation of types and concentrations of PGRs.展开更多
