巧用“自察自思自解”学法鼓励学生自主探究——以“认识气温计”“测量气温”为例

素质教育的根本目的是不断培养和提升学生的主体意识和能力,使之成为能够进行自我教育的社会主体。为此,在教科版小学科学三年级上册“认识气温计”“测量气温”两课教学中,可巧用“自察自思自解”学法,倡导自思、自研、自解的学习方法,充分挖掘学生学习的“内驱力”,鼓励学生自主探究学习,培养学生独立学习的能力。

常心看羡

人进化至此,克服过许多恶习,而有一点情绪却好像铭刻在我们的基因里--羡慕。古人云:“坐观垂钓者,徒有羡鱼情”。古往今来,羡慕从未断绝,甚至颇有些诗意。通俗的说,羡慕别人的人,眼红别人拥有的东西。这些东西可以是各类物品,也可以是某种长处。统而言之,这些都是自己没有的、失去的或是较之略短的事物。可见羡慕总是来自于自身的桎梏。坐观者闲来无事,于是自居一隅,欣赏起忙碌的钓客,一下子惊觉自己被文案桎梏,羡艳起钓客的自由。然而人想问题时,往往是自私的,而羡慕的“自私”就体现在只见自己“寸有所短”。这种“自思”一旦迎合人们常有的自谦心理,就逐渐演变为“羡”。加以别人的光焰犹其灼目时,我们自身也在“羡”中渺小了。

Self-development of the Teachers and Improvement on EnglishTeaching

For a long time, there have been extensive and deep studies and researches about how to upgrade the level of language education in universities. Now people have realized that the key factor that influences the language education most is teachers＇ self-development and the promotion of teachers＇ personalities. A new teaching concept -- reflective teaching has become very popular in the educational circles. It emphasizes that students should become positive and active learners while teachers should bear more dynamic and capacities for self-development.

Beyond Binary Opposition： Reinterpretation of Mr. Pontellier in the Awakening

The American writer Kate Chopin＇s masterpiece, The Awakening published in the late 19th century is one of the classics in female literature. The heroine Edna having the courage to pursue self-reliance and express her self-awareness, is regarded as a ＂new woman＂, while the comments on her husband, Mr. Pontellier are quite negative--He regards Edna as a private property and a sexual tool, leading to her awakening and suicide. In this paper, the author reinterprets Mr. Pontellier with the method of close reading in new criticism, deeming that it is the binary opposition in thinking that leads to the misreading. Mr. Pontellier was just a follower of the tradition and custom. The objective evaluation and reinterpretation to him can help students to develop the habit of critical thinking and the courage to pursue truth is case they form a simple thinking mode of the binary opposition.

Hiperreal Dimension of Dying： Reception of the Phenomenon by Jean Baudrillard, Zuzanna Janin, and Bogna Burska

The first part of the paper presents the philosophical concept of Jean Baudrillard in which the issues of death and dying constitute an essential theme. Contemporary times in which the human condition seems to be extremely difficult are presented in a somber way. Isolation from nature results in the existence filled with fear of death. Natural death is a mentally inconceivable occurrence, an embarrassing phenomenon, and therefore unworthy of being remembered. Only sudden, spectacular death creating media hype seems to be meaningful and worth paying attention to. Instant death is set in opposition to slow death which is also called postponed death. Death in the heat of work, duties, obligations, and prohibitions is the death inflicted at the request of both an employee and an employer. Work rewarded with payment is an act of temporary suspension of death. Burdened with work, people forget about the debt they have incurred from nature. A contemporary employee does not deserve death and instant death is only act of salvation, the act of free will. The second part of the paper focuses on artistic activity of Zuzanna Janin and Bogna Burska. Both artists deal with an issue of media death using different means of expression. Spinning their narratives of intimate decaying and media rage in a public space, they correspond with the Baudrillard＇s philosophical thought.

Critical Thinking in Language Learning and Teaching

This paper focuses on current theoretical research in second language education and on how the Language Awareness Approach, specifically, is key to successful second language teaching. LAA methodology gives students the tools and confidence to internalize the second language for the long term. Through the Language Awareness Approach, students become highly motivated self-learners, expertly analyzing the syntax of their native language as well as that of the second language. As students become more skilled in understanding how language works, they are able to internalize the new language and make it their own. Eventually, students do not have to ＂change the chip to the target language＂ when they walk through the classroom door.

The Thinking of Liang Qichao on Colonization Patterns of Ireland and Taiwan

After Sino-Japanese defeat, Taiwan became a Japanese colony. Liang closely watched the Japanese operating in Taiwan of all the trends, and had a deep thinking to get rid of Japanese rule in Taiwan viable path. He was about to emulate the Irish Anti-British model, through parliamentary struggle to make claim to get rid of colonial ruling in Taiwan. Computer Skills in Humanistic Discipline： Some Observations

This paper explores the myriad capabilities of that contraption, the computer, and its attendant role in the development of creative thought and logical thinking; skills （we could have used the word ＂knowledge＂ instead of skills; but to avoid the unnecessary ambiguity of the former, we shall drop it and talk of skills instead） which the humanistic disciplines and related disciplines in the social sciences and in natural sciences should inculcate. The process of acquiring these skills assumes that one rational animal-the student develops her/his rational powers by studying the wisdom and folly of other rational animals-the authors of various works and/or disciplines the student is set to study. In a word, what is dealt with specifically in the humanistic disciplines, in swimming and riding bicycles, leave us only when decrepitude invades our minds and bodies. In short, students must learn to think. This is an obvious platitude.

On the Theory of Harmonious Co-existence between Man and Nature by Marx and Engels

Marx and Engles believed that man and nature develop harmoniously, when the activities of man constitute the content of nature, which is changed constantly because of the activities of man. Marx and Engles also pointed out the duality of the conquest, change and influence exerted on nature by man. On one hand, it can improve people’s living conditions and make people free from the enslavement of the nature. On the other hand, it may also lead to excessively snatching and wrecking nature, then make the deterioration of the environment and ecology out of balance. They also, from the technical angle of ecology, put forward the concrete measures to realize the harmonious symbiosis of man and nature in the development of economy. They also believed that only when socialism or communism is realized, can the conciliation of mankind and nature be realized finally. Marx and Engle’s theory of harmonious symbiosis of man and nature is of great theoretical directive significance for us to insist on the scientific development view.

Yang Zhu＇s ＂Guiji＂ Yangsheng and Its Modem Relevance

Condemned by Mencius （ca.372-289 BCE） as selfishness （weiwo, 为我）, Yang Zhu＇s yangsheng philosophy in China is traditionally depicted as a philosophy of egoism and hedonism. In contrast, Yang Zhu （fl.ca.370-350 BCE） is described as an ＂early liberal or individualist＂ hero in the Western Discussion of Chinese Philosophy. Yang Zhu may not be a liberal or individualist hero as portrayed by the West, but surely he should not be depicted as a promoter of egoism as Mencius did. Both John Emerson and A.C. Graham are probably right when they claimed that Yang Zhu was a revolutionary thinker of his own time; and ＂Yang Zhu＇s intervention for the Chinese thinking world had provoked a metaphysical crisis which had threatened the basic assumptions of Confucianism and Mohism and set them into a new course＂ （A.C. Graham 1978）. From my reading, Yang Zhu＇s influence on Chinese philosophy had been and will be even greater, although his philosophy as a whole was not practiced by Chinese society in the past due to the dominance of Confucianism. Yet as the first person who clearly emphasized nourishing of life for individuals and the first theory that rooted morality into xing （性, human nature）, Yang Zhu＇s yangsheng philosophy had indeed through history made a huge contribution to Chinese nurturing life tradition, and had great potential in providing inspiration to modern moral thinking. Many discussions initiated or developed by Yang Zhu and his followers have influenced both Confucianism and Daoism profoundly. His idea of nourishing life was not only inherited and developed by Zhuangzi and later Daoist religion from life preservation perspective, but also by Mencius and Xunzi from moral cultivation perspective. As a doctrine that has shown more and more relevance to modern society, people can find many inspirations from Yang Zhu＇s answer to the following questions： What is the aim of human life？ What is the right attitude toward life and death？ What is human nature？ What is the relationship between life nourishment and individual freedom？ Why nourishing one＇s own life should be as important as nourishing that of others？ What is the difference between humans and animals？ Why living a natural life is so important for human beings？ Based on materials collected from various Chinese sources directly related to Yang Zhu＇s school, especially the chapter entitled as ＂Yang Zhu＂ from the book of Liezi, this paper will explore essential features of Yang Zhu＇s yangsheng philosophy and its relevance to modern society. As ＂guiji＂ （贵已, cherishing oneself） is the core of Yang Zhu＇s yangsheng philosophy, discussion of this paper will focus on what Yang Zhu＇s ＂guiji＂ means, why Yang Zhu＇s ＂guiji＂ is not ＂weiwo＂ （为我, for oneself）, and how Yang Zhu＇s ＂guiji＂ yangsheng is relevant to modern society.

Society and State in Marcuse and Hegel

In the 40s and the 50s of the last century existed a largely shared conviction amongst the majority of social scientists in the US regarding the explanation of the theoretical philosophical roots of National Socialism. Contrarily to European writers, who searched its philosophical origins in irrational philosophical traditions, in the US, they relied upon the perception that Hegel＇s Philosophy of State was the most relevant ideological basis of National Socialism. Hegel＇s idea for the need of a strong state, seemed to clearly support the hypothesis. Herbert Marcuse, exiled in the United States, bad to confront himself with this conviction that academic colleague shared. This theoretical hypothesis was in tune to the Zeitgeist and the political context, in which anticommunism was growing stronger by the day and where the cold war was developing. Associating Hegel and National Socialism implied, for most of the hypothesis defenders yet another vantage point： it could discredit also Marx, for the tights links between his philosophical thinking and Hegel＇s one. For Marcuse this hypothesis was even more problematic knowing that in Germany, national socialist philosophers had rejected Hegel from the very first day their party came to power. In this article we try to analyze Marcuse＇s respective philosophical argument. The point of departure of this reconstruction is the philosophical interpretation of Hegel＇s theory of the State. Further than the historical context, the debate on Hegel and his theory of the State, is very relevant for today＇s debates, dominated by neoliberal ideologies, which often are starting from similar theoretical errors than the mentioned. In both cases exists a lack of understanding of the classic bourgeois content within the concept of the State, based on the French Revolution.

Capital Structure and Natural Rate of Unemployment： An Empirical analysis

The model based on Marxism economics such as capital structure ,capital deposit and capital cycles measure directly natural rate of the unemployment. The natural rate of unemployment is decided by the capital per worker, capital structure and average wage. According to the model the natural rate of the unemployment is empirical from 1991 to 2009.the result shows that the ascendant trend is very obvious. At last, according to the model, adjusting economic structure and regulating income distribution can reduce natural rate of unemployment.

A Deep-Ecological Reading of William Wordsworth＇s Poetry

From the 1960s, the increasingly serious ecological crisis gave rise to ecocriticism. William Wordsworth （1770-1850）, a representative of romantic poets, composes substantial poems to eulogize nature and to encourage equality and harmony between nature and human beings. From the angle of deep ecology, a branch of ecological study, this paper aims to analyze the ecological consciousness conveyed in Wordsworth＇s poetry. It analyzes the adverse impacts of industrialization on nature and man in Wordsworth＇s poetry. It elaborates further on ecological thoughts in Wordsworth＇s poetry. And finally, it summarizes how Wordsworth criticizes industrialization in his poetry and how he expresses his ecological thoughts--ecological equilibrium, social equality and harmony, and nature preservation

Pursuing a World of Ecological Harmony An Ecofeminist Study of Willa Cather＇s Pioneer Works

Willa Cather （1873-1947） is one of the greatest women writers in the history of American literature, whose reputation centers on her novels about celebrating pioneer immigrants on Nebraska prairie and the American southwest. For long Willa Cather＇s pioneer works have gained great critical acclaim and have been interpreted from different perspectives such as mythicism, romanticism, and feminism. This paper, interpreting Willa C ather＇ s classical pioneer works of the three periods from the 1920s to the 1930s-My A ntonia （ 1918）, A Lost Lady （1923）, and ＂Neighbor Rosicky＂ （1930）, is devoted to making a full exploration into the evolution of her ecological thoughts from an ecofeminist perspective. In Willa Cather＇s three pioneer works of different creative stages, she deliberately constructs three eco-worlds as a standard of ecological harmony. In her three eco-worlds, Willa Cather not only investigates the relationship between man and nature, but also involves androcentrism, patriarchy, and other ecofeminist topics. Willa Cather＇s ecological views have undergone changes in her representation of three successive phrases. To interpret Willa Cather＇s pioneer works from the perspective of ecofeminism can provide a deeper comprehension about her works and her ecological thoughts for the world.

Entrepreneurial Mind-Set Among Female University Students： A Study of University of Jos Students, Nigeria

In today＇s world, entrepreneurship is seen as the vital source for economic growth, and education in the creation and development of entrepreneurial attitudes. It is, therefore, natural to consider female students as the primary resource of future entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship as a career option is becoming increasingly desirable. Responding to this need, many colleges and universities around the world have significantly increased their offerings of entrepreneurship courses over the past 25 years. Entrepreneurship courses are not only offered by Business Institutes, but other faculties like Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering, and Information Technology are also offering these courses in their syllabus. The problem under focus was to examine entrepreneurial mindset among female university students, a study of University of Jos. The study also ascertained the rate at which variables like： perception of entrepreneurship, role model and university＇s role to promote entrepreneurship are translated into entrepreneurial mindset of female students of University of Jos. A sample size of about 400 was adopted from the three Faculties of Management Science, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences which were selected at random. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed using simple percentage and presented in tables and charts, the hypothesis which states that there is no significant relationship between the teaching of entrepreneurship and university female students＇ entrepreneurial mindset which was tested using z-test analyses of population proportion earlier conducted. This implies a weak relationship between the teaching of entrepreneurship and university female students＇ entrepreneurial mindset. Based on the above inference, the research recommended that, as providers of entrepreneurship trainings, universities must create entrepreneurship supportive environment that could encourage entrepreneurial activity which would in turn help develop an enterprise culture among the female students.
