The calculations of the ground-state tunnel splitting are performed on the basis of the instanton technique in the spin-coherent-state path-integral representation, and complemented by exactly numerical diagonalization. Both the Wentzel–Kramers–Brillouin exponent and the pre-exponential factor are obtained for the entire region of the direction of the field. Our results show that the tunnel splitting oscillates with the field for the small field angle, while for the large field angle the oscillation is completely suppressed. This distinct angular dependence, together with the dependence of the tunnel splitting on the field strength, provides an independent test for spin-parity effects in biaxial molecular magnets. The analytical results for the molecular magnet are found to be in good agreement with the numerical simulations, which suggests that even the molecular magnet with total spin is large enough to be treated as a giant spin system.展开更多

The expression of the time-averaged spin current and its differential is obtained based on a non-equilibrium Green's function method. We find that for a given rotating frequency, the spin current increases rapidly and appears to have small steps when the driven frequency increases. As the driven frequency is further increasing, the spin current can be significantly enhanced and approaches a stable value. The photon-assisted processes bring about interesting features of spin current. The influence of the gate voltage and temperature on the spin current is examined in detail.展开更多

The effective-field equations of motion of the average magnetization are given for the simple cubic lattice (Z ---- 6) and the honeycomb lattice (Z = 3). The Liapunov exponent A is calculated for discussing the stability of the magnetization and it is used to determine the phase boundary. The dynamic phase transition diagrams in ho/ZJ - F/ZJ plane and in ho/ZJ - T/ZJ plane have been drawn, and there is no dynamical tricritical point on the dynamic phase transition boundary. The effect of the thermal fluctuations upon the dynamic phase boundary has been discussed.展开更多

It is found that when electrons are injected from left normal graphene region, high spin polarization oscillation is achieved due to the wave-vector-dependent resonant tunneling. The spin polarization is negligible once the incident direction is reversed. Such a remarkable difference arises from pseudogap caused by the Rashba spin-orbit interaction.展开更多

We show that the spin squeezing can be associated with a fixed-point bifurcation in the classical dynamics, namely, it acts as an indicator of the classical bifurcation. For the ground state of a system with coupled giant spins, we find that the spin squeezing achieves its minimum value near the bifurcation point. We also study the dynamics of the spin squeezing, for an initial state corresponding to one of the fixed point, we find that in the stable regime, the spin squeezing exhibits periodic oscillation and always persists except at some fixed times, while in the unstable regime, the periodic oscillation phenomenon disappears and the spin squeezing survives for a short time. Finally, we show that the mean spin squeezing, which is defined to be averaged over time, attains its minimum value near the bifurcation point.展开更多
