The simulation results show that the proposed two-lane traffic model can reproduce some traffic phenomena observed in real traffic, and that maximum flux and critical density are close to the field measurements. Moreover, the initial density distribution of the fast-lane and slow-lane has much influence on the traffic flow states. With the ratio between the densities of slow lane and fast lane increasing the lane changing frequency increases, but maximum flux decreases. Finally, the influence of the sensitivity coefficients is discussed.展开更多

This paper is concentrated on the pretreatment of the model validation. We use the validation scenarios and standard sequences generated by well-established SDG model to validate the trends fitted from the simulation model. The results are helpful to find potential problems, assess possible bugs in the simulation model and solve the problem effectively. A case study on a simulation model of boiler is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of this method.展开更多

The roundabouts are widely used in China,some of which have central islands as scenic spots.The crosswalks connecting to the central islands,normally full of pedestrians,have negative impact on roundabout capability a...The roundabouts are widely used in China,some of which have central islands as scenic spots.The crosswalks connecting to the central islands,normally full of pedestrians,have negative impact on roundabout capability and pedestrian safety.Therefore,this study proposes a fuzzy cellular automata(FCA)model to explore the safety and efficiency impacts of pedestrian-vehicle conflicts at a two-lane roundabout.To reason the decision-making process of individual drivers before crosswalks,membership functions in the fuzzy inference system were calibrated with field data conducted in Changsha,China.Using specific indicators of efficiency and safety performance,it was shown that circulating vehicles can move smoothly in low traffic flow,but the roundabout system is prone to the traffic congestion if traffic flow reaches to a certain level.Also,the high yielding rate of drivers has a negative impact on the traffic efficiency but can improve pedestrian safety.Furthermore,a pedestrian restriction measure was deduced for the roundabout crosswalk from the FCA model and national guideline of setting traffic lights.展开更多

The shift schedule can keep the torque converter working in the high efficiency range under all the working conditions except in the low efficiency range on the left when the transmission worked at the lowest shift, and in the low efficiency range on the right when the transmission worked at the highest shift. The shift quality key factors were analysed. The automatic trans-mission's bench-test adopting this shift schedule was made on the automatic transmission's test-bed. The experimental results showed that the shift schedule was correct and that the shift quality was controllable.展开更多

A liquid sloshing experimental apparatus was established to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed model, as well as to study nonlinear sloshing in a prismatic tank with the baffles. Damping effects of sloshing in a rectangular tank with bottom-mounted vertical baffles and vertical baffles touching the free surface are studied numerically and experimentally. Good agreement is obtained between the present numerical results and experimental data. The numerical results match well with the current experimental data for strong nonlinear sloshing with large free surface slopes. The reduction in sloshing-wave elevation and impact pressure induced by the bottom-mounted vertical baffle and the vertical baffle touching the free surface is estimated by varying the external excitation frequency and the location and height of the vertical baffle under horizontal excitation.展开更多

To reveal the inner mechanism, this paper built a new cellular automaton (CA) model, based on the driving decision (DD). In the DD model, a driver's decision is divided into three stages: decision-making, action, and result. The acceleration is taken as a decision variable and three core factors, i.e. distance between adjacent vehicles, their own velocity, and the preceding vehicle's velocity, are considered. Simulation results show that the DD model can simulate the synchronized flow effectively and describe the phase transition in traffic flow well. Further analyses illustrate that various density will cause the phase transition and the random probability will impact the process. Compared with the traditional NaSch model, the DD model considered the preceding vehicle's velocity, the deceleration limitation, and a safe distance, so it can depict closer to the driver preferences on pursuing safety, stability and fuel-saving and has strong theoretical innovation for future studies.展开更多

Fourteen years' (2000-2013) data of Mongol...This paper aimed to highlight the effects of conflict in Mongolia on trade policy and openness, by estimating the trade flows with neighbor countries (China and Russia). Fourteen years' (2000-2013) data of Mongolian imports and exports were collected and gone through principal component analysis (PCA) and empirical analysis for grouping various trades with China and Russia. The empirical analysis identified the determining factors of Mongolian trade flow and openness with China and Russia. Empirical analysis evidenced that Mongolian trade and openness policy raised bilateral trade between China and Russia, leaving a great influence on economic size. Two main questions represented as empirically tested by each sample country. How did Mongolian trade policy and openness influence trade flows between China and Russia and economic growth of Mongolia? Did Mongolian trade policy and the bilateral trade with China and Russia increase on trade openness? Finally, the study focused on the forecasts from 2016 to 2018 to examine Mongolian trade flows with China and Russia using ordinary least squares method and autoregressive-moving-average (ARMA) model. China-Mongolia-Russia trade flows will continue to dominate during the forecasted period. As shown by the structure of export and import, goods with China and Russia influenced the mutual trade amount. Moreover, China and Russia traded to continue with Mongolia for goods in long run. Trade policy and openness, the major contributor in Mongolian economy, are significantly playing roles in trade and economy.展开更多

We justify that the model can reach a stable state...The system of mixture of single lane and double lane is studied by a cellular automata model, which is developed by us based on the Nagel and Schreckenberg's models. We justify that the model can reach a stable states quickly. The density distributions of the stable state is presented for several cases, which illustrate the manner of the congestion. The relationship between the outflow rate and the total number of vehicles and that between the outflow rate and the density just before the bottleneck are both given. Comparing with the relationship that occurring in the granular flow, we conclude that the transition from the free traffic flow to the congested traffic flow can also be attributed to the abrupt variation through unstable flow state, which can naturally explain the discontinuities and the complex time variation behavior observed in the traffic flow experiments.展开更多

In this paper, traffic flow cellular automaton models for four-lane highway system with two opposing directions under the above two modes are established considering car and truck mixed running. Through computer numerical simulating, the fundamental diagrams with different parameters are obtained, and after the analysis of density-flux diagrams, the variation discipline of flux with traffic density under different control models is gained. The results indicate that, compared with lane-control, utilization ratio of road can be further improved with speed-control when the truck number increases. The research result is of great significance for reasonable providing theoretical guidance for highway traffic control.展开更多

Mean-square displacements and velocity autocorrelation functions are used to calculate self-diffusion coefficients through Einstein equation and Green-Kubo formula. It has been found that simulation results are in good agreement with experimental data for liquid argon which is taken as exponential-six fluid. The effects of density, temperature and steepness factor for repulsive part of exponential-six potential on self-diffusion coefficients are also investigated. The simulation results indicate that the self-diffusion coefficient of exponential-six fluid increases as temperature increases and density decreases. In addition, the larger self-diffusion coefficients are obtained as the steepness factor increases at the same temperature and density condition.展开更多
There are many experimental studies dedicated to determining the effect of the proximity of a plane boundary on the vortex-induced vibration (VIV) of submarine pipeline spans, but they all only concerned the first mod...There are many experimental studies dedicated to determining the effect of the proximity of a plane boundary on the vortex-induced vibration (VIV) of submarine pipeline spans, but they all only concerned the first mode VIV motion of the pipe. In this paper, a pipe model, 16 mm in diameter, 2.6 m in length and with a mass ratio (mass/displaced mass) of 4.30, was tested in a current tank. The reduced velocity was in the range of 0-16.7 and gap ratios at the pipe ends were 4.0, 6.0 and 8.0. The response of the model was measured using optical fiber strain gauges. Results of response amplitude and frequency were presented and the transition from the first dominant mode to the second one was shown. In the tests, it was found that the response amplitude experienced a continuous transition between the two modes, but the dramatic increase in the response frequency appeared with the shift in dominant mode from the first mode to the second one as the flow velocity increased. As the gap ratio decreased, the shift in the dominant mode took place at a higher reduced velocity.展开更多

Within the hydrodynamical model and by using the multi-mode approximation, the self-trapping dynamic...We study the tunnelling dynamics of superfluid Fermi gases trapped in multi-well system along the BEC-BCS crossover. Within the hydrodynamical model and by using the multi-mode approximation, the self-trapping dynamics of superfluid Fermi gases in multi-well system are obtained numerically. We find that the self-trapping to diffusion transition strongly depends on the well number. When the well number is less than three, the self-trapped state takes place easier on the BEC side than that on the BCS side. However, when the well number is larger than three, the self-trapped state takes place easier on the BCS side instead of the BEC side. Furthermore, by considering a superfluid of 40K atoms, we obtain the zero-mode and π-mode Josephson frequencies of coherent atomic oscillations in double-well system. It is noteworthy that the Josephson mode, especially, the existence of π-mode frequency strongly depends on the atoms number on the BCS side.展开更多

In addition, the larger self-diffusion coefficients are obtained as the steepness factor increases at the same temperature and density condition.

文摘There are many experimental studies dedicated to determining the effect of the proximity of a plane boundary on the vortex-induced vibration (VIV) of submarine pipeline spans, but they all only concerned the first mode VIV motion of the pipe. In this paper, a pipe model, 16 mm in diameter, 2.6 m in length and with a mass ratio (mass/displaced mass) of 4.30, was tested in a current tank. The reduced velocity was in the range of 0-16.7 and gap ratios at the pipe ends were 4.0, 6.0 and 8.0. The response of the model was measured using optical fiber strain gauges. Results of response amplitude and frequency were presented and the transition from the first dominant mode to the second one was shown. In the tests, it was found that the response amplitude experienced a continuous transition between the two modes, but the dramatic increase in the response frequency appeared with the shift in dominant mode from the first mode to the second one as the flow velocity increased. As the gap ratio decreased, the shift in the dominant mode took place at a higher reduced velocity.

文摘We study the tunnelling dynamics of superfluid Fermi gases trapped in multi-well system along the BEC-BCS crossover. Within the hydrodynamical model and by using the multi-mode approximation, the self-trapping dynamics of superfluid Fermi gases in multi-well system are obtained numerically. We find that the self-trapping to diffusion transition strongly depends on the well number. When the well number is less than three, the self-trapped state takes place easier on the BEC side than that on the BCS side. However, when the well number is larger than three, the self-trapped state takes place easier on the BCS side instead of the BEC side. Furthermore, by considering a superfluid of 40K atoms, we obtain the zero-mode and π-mode Josephson frequencies of coherent atomic oscillations in double-well system. It is noteworthy that the Josephson mode, especially, the existence of π-mode frequency strongly depends on the atoms number on the BCS side.

文摘In real traffic,any vehicle must give lane-changing signal(i.e.the turn signal) before changing lanes;at this time,the vehicles behind the lane-changing vehicle will be hindered and may form "plugs" due to the turn signal effect.However,few studies focus on exploring the effect.In this paper,the turn signal effect was taken into account by proposing a new symmetric two-lane cellular automaton(T-STCA) model,and the new model was set to compare with the STCA,H-STCA and A-STCA models.Numerical results show that using the T-STCA model to describe lane-changing or overtaking,the process appeared in several consecutive time steps;while using the other three models,the process appeared only in one time step.In addition,the T-STCA model could describe the mixed traffic flow more realistically and the turn signal effect could help the plugs to dissolve more quickly.
文摘We present a general analysis on non-static axial system with dissipative shear-free anisotropic fluid using polynomial inflationary f(R) model.We study the effects of dissipation on the dynamics of geodesic matter distribution.This leads the system either to rotation-free or expansion-free but not both simultaneously under geodesic condition.It is found that the system preserves its symmetry in both cases.For the rotation-free case,when there is no dissipation and Ricci scalar is constant,the axial system reduces to FRW universe model.This is exactly the same result obtained in general relativity.
