The common nondestructive testing techniques for engineering ceramics are limited by their difficulty and cost. Therefore, this paper proposes a global image reconstruction scheme in ground texture surface using Fourier transform (FT). The lines associated with high-energy frequency components in the spectrum that represent ground texture information can be detected by Hough transform (HT), and the corresponding high-energy frequency components are set to zero. Then the spectrum image is back-transformed into the spatial domain image with inverse Fourier transform (IFT). In the reconstructed image, the main ground texture information has been removed, whereas the surface defects information is preserved. Finally, Canny edge detection is used to extract damage image in the reconstructed image. The experimental results of damage detection for the ground texture surfaces of engineering ceramics have shown that the proposed method is effective.展开更多

The logic analyzer had two modules:one was the test pattern generation module, the other was the logic monitoring module. Combining the two modules, one is able to test a digital circuit automatically. The user interface of the logic analyzer was programmed with LabVIEW. Two Arduino UNO boards were used as the hardware targets to input and output the logic signals. The maximum pattern update rate was set to be 20 Hz. The maximum logic sampling rate was set to be 200 Hz. After twelve thousand cycles of exhaustive tests, the logic analyzer had a 100% accuracy. As a tutorial showing how to build virtual instruments with Arduino, the software detail is also explained in this article.展开更多

The isotope effect on the phonon behavior in graphene was investigated based on the micro-Raman analysis of 13 C isotope labeled graphene samples. We found that the phonon scattering is affected by the isotopic carbon atom as a point defect. Based on the experiment results, the Klemens-Callaway model and uncertainty principle were used to obtain the mean free path of the G and D phonons. The results agree with the thermal conductivity measurement by non-contact optical method and with other theoretical calculations.展开更多
