These include viscous free surface flow interaction with free rigid bodies in the case of large and/or relative motions. Two-phase flow with complex deformations at the interface was simulated using a fractional step-volume of fluid algorithm. In addition, body motions were captured by an overlapping mesh system. Here, flow variables are transferred using a simple fully implicit non-conservative interpolation scheme which maintains the second-order accuracy of implemented spatial discretisation. Code was developed and an appropriate set of problems investigated. Results show good potential for development of a virtual hydrodynamics laboratory.展开更多

In doing so, this essay begins by looking at the foundation ...This essay examines the degree to which Kant's understanding of external freedom and right are consistent with and can form a part of his moral philosophy. In doing so, this essay begins by looking at the foundation and possibility of moral experience as it is presented in the Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals. This essay then turns to explore Kant's understanding of external freedom and right as set out in The Metaphysics of Morals and examines the apparent inconsistencies that exist between these concepts and Kant's explication of moral worth. After pointing out the distinction between right and morality, this essay goes on to argue that, strictly speaking, Kant's conception of external freedom and right cannot form part of his moral philosophy (as so defined in the Groundwork). Finally, this essay concludes by arguing that although right and morality are irreconcilable, Kant's account of external freedom and right can nevertheless serve as part of his "moral" philosophy insofar as these concepts represent Kant's attempt to externalize the moral law, or simply expand the definition of morality to cover any action that accords with the right.展开更多
Mobile free space optical networks have aroused much attention due to the ability of providing high speed connectivity over long distance using the wireless laser links,while requiring relatively high available bandwi...Mobile free space optical networks have aroused much attention due to the ability of providing high speed connectivity over long distance using the wireless laser links,while requiring relatively high available bandwidth resource and less energy consumption.However,maintaining the network with laserlinks is quite challenging due to a number of issues,such as the link fragility,the difficulty in pointingand tracking of the link,which also raises the great difficulty in the control of the network.In this paper,we present the methodology for the deployment of the mobile freespace optical networks based on our proposed OpenFlow-based control architecture.In addition,a new routing scheme is proposed and demonstrated on the testbed based on this control architecture.Delivery ratio,average delivery delay and time complexity are given to verify the performance of the OpenFlow-based control architecture.展开更多
The changes of free solution amount, fluidity and the time-depended fluidity loss of cement paste were examined by varying the water-cement ratio and the dosages of superplasticizer. The distribution of solution and f...The changes of free solution amount, fluidity and the time-depended fluidity loss of cement paste were examined by varying the water-cement ratio and the dosages of superplasticizer. The distribution of solution and flocculation microstructure in flesh cement paste was observed with optical microscope. The change of free solution amount and its effect on the fluidity and bleeding of cement paste was studied. The results show that the adsorbed solution amount has a great influence on the com- patibility of cement-superplasticizer system, including the bleeding degree, the fluidity and the time-depended fluidity loss of cement paste. Superplasticizer increases the fluidity of cement paste by destroying the flocculated cement particle structure and increasing the amount of adsorbed solution. Polycarboxylate superplasticizer shows higher ability of adsorption than naphtha- lene superplasticizer. Over dosage of superplasticizer is not the primary cause of bleeding. The principle reason of bleeding is the high water-cement ratio and the insufficient enhancing ability of water adsorption of superplasticizer.展开更多
