The phase current and energy conversion process during generator operation were simulated by the linear math model. The non-linear math model was used to analyze the characteristics of the SRG operation in self-excitation mode and in separately-excitation mode. Some important findings on how the SRG is operated and controlled were obtained in this study, which provides theoretical basis for further design and experimental study.展开更多

As the MPEG-2 is popular in digital TV, DVD, etc., bandwidth or memory space can be saved by transcoding those streams into H.264 in these applications. Unfortunately, the huge complexity keeps transcoding from being widely used in practical applications. This paper proposes an efficient transcoding architecture with a smart downscaling decoder and a fast mode decision algorithm. Using the proposed architecture, huge buffering memory space is saved and the transcoding complexity is reduced. Performance of the proposed fast mode decision algorithm is validated by experiments.展开更多

The me...A novel hyper-redundant manipulator named RT1 is designed and studied. The unique feature of RT1 is all degrees of freedom (DOF) are actuated with only one motor via special designed hinge bar universal joints. The mechanisms of RT1 are introduced in detail. Some experiments are carried out in order to test the movability and adaptability of the manipulator. RT1 is actuated by pulse string and acts discretely. The discrete working space of RT1 is described and the parameter optimization for kinematical redundancy resolution is studied also. The optimization criterion is altering the design parameter as little as possible during manipulator's motion from the initial position to the expected position. An optimization example is given that is realized with Matlab optimize tool-box.展开更多

This feature permits to use either flow sensors or flow estimators. The solution chosen was the estimation of rotor flux with the hybrid neuro-fuzzy system. The motor characteristics are: 3.75 kW (5 HP), two pole-pair, operate at 60 Hz and air-gap length 0.2 mm. The ANFIS (adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system) was used to tune the membership functions in fuzzy system. The hybrid estimator aims at compensating possible parametric variations of the machine caused by agents, such as temperature or nucleus saturation. The simulated results have shown good performance.展开更多
