A hybrid compensation scheme for piezoelectric ceramic actuators(PEAs)is proposed.In the hybrid compensation scheme,the input rate-dependent hysteresis characteristics of the PEAs are compensated.The feedforward contr...A hybrid compensation scheme for piezoelectric ceramic actuators(PEAs)is proposed.In the hybrid compensation scheme,the input rate-dependent hysteresis characteristics of the PEAs are compensated.The feedforward controller is a novel input rate-dependent neural network hysteresis inverse model,while the feedback controller is a proportion integration differentiation(PID)controller.In the proposed inverse model,an input ratedependent auxiliary inverse operator(RAIO)and output of the hysteresis construct the expanded input space(EIS)of the inverse model which transforms the hysteresis inverse with multi-valued mapping into single-valued mapping,and the wiping-out,rate-dependent and continuous properties of the RAIO are analyzed in theories.Based on the EIS method,a hysteresis neural network inverse model,namely the dynamic back propagation neural network(DBPNN)model,is established.Moreover,a hybrid compensation scheme for the PEAs is designed to compensate for the hysteresis.Finally,the proposed method,the conventional PID controller and the hybrid controller with the modified input rate-dependent Prandtl-Ishlinskii(MRPI)model are all applied in the experimental platform.Experimental results show that the proposed method has obvious superiorities in the performance of the system.展开更多

In order to...There may be a close relationship between myc oncogenes and carcinogenesis of human neuroblastoma. In previous studies, we were able to induce differentiation of certain neuroblastoma cell lines with NGF. In order to study gene regulation during differentiation, N-myc and c-myc cDNA probe were hybridized with RNA extracted from different cell lines before and after NGF treatment. It was found that cell lines which expressed N-myc did not express c-myc while those with c-myc did not express N-myc except for SHEP cell line which had neither c-myc nor N-myc expression. In NGF-induced differentiated neuroblastoma cells, c-myc oncogene was down-regulated in comparison with the control samples. The time course of c-myc down-regulation was concomitant with the appearance of morphological differentiation. In situ hybridization also showed remarkable reduction of c-myc oncogene expression in NGF-induced differentiated cells as compared with the untreated control cells. These results indicate that down-regulation of c-myc oncogene may be a key event during NGF-induced differentiation and overexpression of c-myc oncogene may, at least partially, be responsible for the genesis of neuroblastoma.展开更多

Ernst Cassirer is among the few philosophers who have attempted to defend Rousseau's claim to consistency. Despite its broad influence, Cassirer's interpretation has remained largely unchallenged. The aim of this paper is twofold. Firstly, it aims to show that Cassirer's interpretation undermines (1) the important role Rousseau assigns to pity in both the state of nature and civil society and (2) the significant role the general will plays in his political theory. Methods: Eighty-seven patients with epilepsy were tested in the city of Xi’an with a knowledge questionnaire containing 2...Objective: To investigate the knowledge level related to compliance in patients with epilepsy. Methods: Eighty-seven patients with epilepsy were tested in the city of Xi’an with a knowledge questionnaire containing 21 questions related to compliance. Results: Over 39.5% of patients did not know that epilepsy is the result of abnormal firing of neurons, while 29.9% were uncertain or did not realize that epilepsy attacks can bring up accidents such as traffic accidents, drowning and trauma. A total of 36.6% of responders thought that the best therapy for epilepsy could be found in Traditional Chinese Medicine. As many as 36.8% of tested patients were uncertain or did not know that frequent epilepsy attacks can affect their intelligence. Up to 36% were unaware of the possible consequence of sudden withdrawal of anti-epileptic drugs (AED). Among responders, 39.1% did not know the right treatment method of epilepsy. That AED can control seizure attacks were doubted in 57.5% of epileptic patients. Furthermore, 32.2% did not know whether the disease could be cured. Conclusion: In this group of epileptic patients, generally they do not have enough indispensable knowledge to cope with epilepsy. They urgently need for proper health education besides effective AED to control seizure attacks and improve their quality of life.展开更多

Methods Ninety ClPN patients with breast cancer conforming to inclusive criteria were randomly ...Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint injection for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (ClPN). Methods Ninety ClPN patients with breast cancer conforming to inclusive criteria were randomly divided into an acupuncture group (group A), a mecobalamin group (group B) and an acupoint injection group (group C) according to random number table, with 30 cases in each group. In group A, acupuncture was conducted at bilateral Q0chi (I~ LI 11), H6g6 (~ LI 4), Z0s^nlT (~__~ ST 36), S^nyinji^o (^-- ~ SP 6) and Xu^h~i (J~ SP 10); in group B, intramuscular injection with I mL of mecobalamin injection was conducted; and in group C, acupoint selection was the same as group A, and 0.1 mL of mecobalamin injection was injected into each acupoint, respectively. The treatment was conducted once every three days in each group, and the changes of clinical efficacy, nerve electrophysiology and hemorrheology indicators after treatment for 10 times were observed. Result The total effective rate of group C was 93.1% (27/29), which was higher than 78.6% (22/28) in group A and 83.3% (25/30) in group B, and the differences among three groups were statistically significant (all P〈0.01); conduction velocity of lesion nerves was improved in group B and group C, the improvement in group C was obviously superior to the other two groups (all P〈0.01), hemorrheology indicator was improved in group A and group C (both P〈0.05). Conclusion The efficacy of acupoint injection with mecobalamin for breast cancer CIPN was significant, which can not only improve the nerve conduction velocity, but also improve the hemorrheology indicator.展开更多
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effect of electroacupuncture on chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy(CIPN), quality of life and immune status of patients with malignant tumors.METHODS:From Jan, 2013 to May, 2014, 37 p...OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effect of electroacupuncture on chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy(CIPN), quality of life and immune status of patients with malignant tumors.METHODS:From Jan, 2013 to May, 2014, 37 patients with malignant tumors were included in this prospective single-blinded study, and randomized to receive either electroacupuncture or acupuncture treatment on basis of chemotherapy.The chemotherapy was continued for 2 courses as previous before the treatments, with 21 days as a course of treatment.Patients received acupuncture and electroacupuncture once per day starting at the day before chemotherapy for consecutive 7 days followed by 14 days off, with 21 days as a course of treatment, and continued for two courses of treatment.Then CIPN, traditional Chinese clinical symptoms,quality of life and immune status were all evaluated for each patient prior treatment and after two courses of treatment.RESULTS:The gender, age, cancer species as well as incidence(83.3% vs 84.2%) and grades of CIPN before treatments were all similar in patients receiving acupuncture or electroacupuncture(all P >0.05).After treatments, most patients with peripheral neuropathy were cured by two courses of electroacupuncture(84.2% vs 21.1%), whereas the other group of patients had similar incidences of peripheral neuropathy compared with prior-acupuncture(83.3% vs 72.2%).Besides, patients receiving electroacupuncture had lower incidence of peripheral neuropathy than those receiving acupuncture treatment(χ~2= 9.745, P = 0.002).The grades of peripheral neuropathy were significantly different in the two groups post-treatment(χ~2= 13.983, P =0.007).The total effective rates for traditional Chinese clinical symptoms were 16.7% and 84.2% in acupuncture and electroacupuncture groups, respectively(Z =-4.239, P < 0.001).The electroacupuncture treatment provided a more satisfactory life for patients compared with acupuncture(Z =-4.76, P < 0.001).Both electroacupuncture and acupuncture had no effects on immune function.CONCLUSION:Electroacupuncture could alleviate CIPN, and improve traditional Chinese clinical symptoms and quality of life, but did not affect immune function.展开更多
In statistics and machine learning communities, the last fifteen years have witnessed a surge of high-dimensional models backed by penalized methods and other state-of-the-art variable selection techniques.The high-di...In statistics and machine learning communities, the last fifteen years have witnessed a surge of high-dimensional models backed by penalized methods and other state-of-the-art variable selection techniques.The high-dimensional models we refer to differ from conventional models in that the number of all parameters p and number of significant parameters s are both allowed to grow with the sample size T. When the field-specific knowledge is preliminary and in view of recent and potential affluence of data from genetics, finance and on-line social networks, etc., such(s, T, p)-triply diverging models enjoy ultimate flexibility in terms of modeling, and they can be used as a data-guided first step of investigation. However, model selection consistency and other theoretical properties were addressed only for independent data, leaving time series largely uncovered. On a simple linear regression model endowed with a weakly dependent sequence, this paper applies a penalized least squares(PLS) approach. Under regularity conditions, we show sign consistency, derive finite sample bound with high probability for estimation error, and prove that PLS estimate is consistent in L_2 norm with rate (s log s/T)~1/2.展开更多
