When the frigate moves forward,due to the ship motion such as pitching and rolling,the flow over the flight deck becomes very complex,which may seriously threaten the taking off and landing of the ship-borne helicopter.The flow fields over the different modified simple frigate shape(SFS)models,consisting of the hangar and flight deck,were numerically studied by changing the ratio of hangar height and length in the static state and pitching state.For different models,the contours of velocity and pressure above the flight deck,as well as the variations of velocity components of the observation points and line in static state and pitching state were compared and analyzed.The results show that the size of recirculation zone and the location of the reattachment point have distinct differences for diverse models,and reveal the tracks of recirculation zone’s center and reattachment position in a pitching period.In addition,the velocity components at two observation positions also change periodically with the periodic motion.Furthermore,the deviations of the velocity components in static state and pitching state are relatively large,therefore,the flow fields in static state cannot be used to simulate that in pitching state correctly. 展开更多

The detection of these wakes can provide important information for surveillanc... Moving ships produce a set of waves of "V' pattern on the ocean. These waves can often be seen by Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR). The detection of these wakes can provide important information for surveillance of shipping, such as ship traveling direction and speed. A novel approach to the detection of ship wakes in SAR images based on frequency domain is provided in this letter. Compared with traditional Radon-based approaches, computation is reduced by 20%-40% without losing nearly any of detection performance. The testing results using real data and simulation of synthetic SAR images test the algorithm's feasibility and robustness. 展开更多

The TILS (turbulence integral length scale) of the turbulent wake of hydrofoil with blunt trailing edge is calculated from TR-PIV (time-resolved particle image velocimetry) data. The temporal auto-correlation method based on Taylor hypothesis and spatial correlation method are used to get the TILS information of the turbulent wake of hydrofoil, respectively The comparison of results by two methods indicates that the spatial correlation method is independent on Taylor hypothesis and suitable to strong turbulence and non-isotropic turbulence. 展开更多
