This interference canceller is robust in the sense that it cancels Inter-Carriers Inter-ference (ICI) and is suitable for use in dispersive channels. To come up the effects of the signaldispersion, Doppler shifts and delay spreads on the performance of MC-CDMA systems over mo-bile fading channels, this interference canceller exploits the merit of the orthogonal signaling andpilot signals to evaluate the channel parameters. This interface canceller is well suited to work initerative turbo interference cancellation.展开更多

Because of the statistical characteristics and the frequency-dependence of PMD, for current single mode fiber with moderate PMD, the probability that all channels are severely degraded at the same time is extremely small, which makes it possible to compensate a dense wavelength division multiplexing(DWDM) transmission system with moderate PMD using this compensator. It is shown that the outage probability of a 40×43 Gb/s DWDM transmission system using this compensator is decreased significantly from 3.6×10-3 to 3.6×10-5.展开更多

A dual-polarization(DP)-1 024 quadrature amplitude modulation(QAM) 400 Gbit/s CD monitoring system is built using OptiS ystem14.0 software. With different optical signal to noise ratio(OSNR) values, different filter bandwidths or different duty cycles, the simulations are carried out. The simulation results show that this new CD monitoring method can be less affected by noise and has a high tolerance for different filter bandwidths. At the same time, this method can do effective CD monitoring on the signal with duty cycle greater than 80%. A high sensitivity in 0—200 ps/nm can be achieved using this CD monitoring method. The technique supports a wide range of data traffic and enhances operation flexibility of optical networks.展开更多

In the framework of the input-output theory, we derive the relations between the phase shifts of the transmitted photons and the states of the atom(s) in the cavity. It is shown that due to the dispersive interaction between the cavity and the atom(s), information about the atomic state can then be extracted by measuring the phase shifts of the transmitted photons through the cavity. The feasibility of the proposal is also discussed with the experimental parameters by numerical method.展开更多
