The subtitles are one of the added elements in the early film and television works, and subtitles can be added only when the pictures are poorly interpreted. Later, they gradually became the special effects of the variety shows. According to the current information that the author retrieved, there are relatively fewer domestic theses on the researches on the subtitle design. Although the domestic and the foreign scholars have confirmed the status of the subtitles in the film and television works, so far there is no known special work on the subtitle design, and only a handful of the journal articles have been published. Most of the researches on the subtitles are also about the functional production, and few Focus on the subtitle design. The research on the subtitle design is still at the beginning and blank stage. 展开更多

Playbills, covers, and logo of an opera often reflect the meanings of the drama. This paper focuses on above mentioned issues with reference to Dracula, the rock opera of Italian band PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi), explaining how every visual aspects (also considering scenography and costumes) are closely linked to libretto and music to show the consistency among the different facets of the opera production. In this procedure, graphic artists and designers confirm their knowledge, but apart from this awareness, there are some symptoms of an tmconscious creativity as much coherent. As a result, this study aims to show how the management of the biggest colossal in the history of rock opera tries--constantly torn between art and advertising--to attract a potential audience by means of the iconography both of the composers and of the most famous vampire in the world. 展开更多

This paper looks at how brand development and marketing communication rules are useful, if not essential tools in the transmedia storytelling process. After providing clarification on the meaning of true transmedia content, the author suggests that this fi)rm of narrative necessitates a variety of techniques that are beyond those found in the traditional skill set of the linear storyteller. The paper introduces a multi-layered model to help provide a structure for the development of transmedia narrative. It also outlines various stages of development and their specific characteristics. These include the establishment of a core message, introductory, development, and mature narrative phases. It draws extensive]Ly from a case study in transmedia storytelling co-produced by the author. The project, entitled Geo Freakz is rooted in the family sport of geocaching and was initially released on a trial basis, in Canada. The project includes webisodes, multiplayer on line games, TV programming, and live events. Collaborative partners are drawn from several media modalities. Findings from the case to date are used to illustrate the model presented in the paper as well as outline challenges in transmedia storytelling yet to be dealt with. 展开更多
