METHODS: The colonic myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity and tumor necro...AIM: To investigate proteomic changes in spinal cord and dorsal root ganglia (DRG) of rats with trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS)-induced colitis. METHODS: The colonic myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity and tumor necrosis factor-(TNF- ) level were determined. A two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE)-based proteomic technique was used to profile the global protein expression changes in the DRG and spinal cord of the rats with acute colitis induced by intracolonic injection of TNBS. RESULTS: TNBS group showed significantly elevated colonic MPO activity and increased TNF-level. The proteins derived from lumbosacral enlargement of the spinal cord and DRG were resolved by 2-DE; and 26 and 19 proteins that displayed significantly different expression levels in the DRG and spinal cord were identified respectively. Altered proteins were found to be involved in a number of biological functions, such as inflammation/immunity, cell signaling, redox regulation, sulfate transport and cellular metabolism. The over-expression of the protein similar to potassium channel tetramerisation domain containing protein 12 (Kctd 12) and low expression of proteasome subunit type-1 (psma) were validated by Western blotting analysis. CONCLUSION: TNBS-induced colitis has a profound impact on protein profiling in the nervous system. This result helps understand the neurological pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease.展开更多

The study was carried out in L-arginine medium. 1.0-8.0 M HCl and CH3COOH, 0.5-8.0 M HBr, HClO4 and H2SO4, 0.2-1.0 M EDTA and 0.02-0.12 M ammonium oxalate were found to be an efficient eluents for Be(Ⅱ). The capacity of polymer was 0.554-0.01 mmol/g of crown polymer. The tolerance limit of various cations and anions were reported. Be(Ⅱ) was quantitatively separated from Mg(Ⅱ), Ca(Ⅱ), Sr(Ⅱ) and Ba(Ⅱ). The selective separation of Be(Ⅱ) was possible from multicomponent mixtures. The method was extended to determine Be(Ⅱ) from geological samples. Method was simple, rapid and selective having good reproducibility (approximately4-2%).展开更多

These soluble and meltable oligomers showing thermostability, semiconducting and paramagnetic properties and also high reactivity at reactions characteristic for aromatic hydroxyl groups were used as active filler at preparation of rubbers from butyl and butadiene-nitrile rubbers. It has been shown that in partial or full substitution of carbon black by oligohydroxynaphthylenes or cooligohydroxynaphthylenephenylamines in composition of vulcanizate the prepared rubbers are characterized by noticeably high heat-physical, physical-mechanical and electrical properties (Pv = 10^8 - 10^6Om. cm ).展开更多

Analyses were performed through chromatography, NMR and MS methods. The results indicate that protocatechuic and vanillic acids are present in healthy and infected tissues of both cvs; the flavonol glycoside peltatoside. 2,6-Dimethoxybenzoic acid was detected in small amounts only in infected "Gloriana" cv while the highly resistant "Roland" cv contained the flavone datiscetin. This latter compound, due to its noticeable antifungal activity evidenced in in vitro trials, could be conceived both as a biochemical marker of resistance towards this pathogen and as a phytoanticipin.展开更多

The template-directed assembly of planar pentacene molecules on epitaxial graphene grown on Ru(0001) (G/Ru) has been investigated by means of low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and density funct...The template-directed assembly of planar pentacene molecules on epitaxial graphene grown on Ru(0001) (G/Ru) has been investigated by means of low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. STM experiments find that pentacene adopts a highly selective and dispersed growth mode in the initial stage. By using DFT calculations including van der Waals interactions, we find that the configuration with pentacene adsorbed on face-centered cubic (fcc) regions of G/Ru is the most stable one, which accounts for the selective adsorption at low coverage. Moreover, at high coverage, we have successfully controlled the molecular assembly from amorphous, local ordering, to long-range order by optimizing the deposition rate and substrate temperature.展开更多

The polymer blend nanorods were prepared by infiltrating the polymer blends into nanopores of anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) templates via capillary action. Their morphology was investigated by micro-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (micro-FTIR) and nano-thermal analysis (nano-TA) with spatial resolution. The composition gradient of polymer blends in the nanopores is governed by the difference of viscosity and miscibility between the two polymers in the blends and the pore diameter. The capillary wetting of porous AAO templates by polymer blends offers a unique method to fabricate functional nanostructured materials with gradient composition distribution for the potential application to nanodevices.展开更多

Proton transfer occurs from the COOH of carboxylic acid to nitrogen of imidazole in all complexes (1-3), leading to the hydrogen bond N-H…O in all structures. To our knowledge, the recognition pattern between the carboxylic acid group and imidazole (acid-imidazole synthon) is less well-studied so far. The cooperation among COOH, COO and imidazolium cation functional groups for the observed hydrogen bond synthons is examined in the three structures. Generally, the strong N-H…O and O-H…O hydrogen bonds define supramolecular architecture and connectivity within chains, while weaker C-H…O hydrogen bonds play the dominant role in controlling the interactions between layers in these novel organic salts. Thermal stability of these compounds has been investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) of mass loss.展开更多

Photochemical and thermal isomerization of various azobenzenes was systematically investigated to understand the correlation between the molecular structure and trans → cis isomerization characteristics of azobenzene...Photochemical and thermal isomerization of various azobenzenes was systematically investigated to understand the correlation between the molecular structure and trans → cis isomerization characteristics of azobenzenes. A blue shift in π-π absorption band of ortho-alkylated azobenzenes (1o and 2o) was observed together with a reduction in molar extinction coefficient (e) in comparison with both meta-alkylated azobenzenes (4m and 5m) and 7p lacking the meta and ortho substituents. For orthoalkylated azobenzene, photochemical trans-to-cis isomerization and thermal back cis-to-trans isomerization in solution oc- curred slowly when compared with 4m, 5m and 7p. The half-life time of the cis form of 20 was found to be 380 h, which is about 8-50 times longer than those of comparable 4m, 5m (43-13 h) and 7p (7 h). Furthermore, comparison of the molecular structure and isomerization characteristics of azobenzene thiol (20 and 5m) self-assembled monolayers on flat gold surfaces indicates that the trans-to-cis photoconversion in monolayer systems is influenced by steric hindrance and strong intermoleculax interaction between azobenzene units.展开更多
Magnetic Fe_3O_4@PANI@Au nanocomposites are fabricated through electrostatic self-assembly and seed growth methods.The rate constant K_(app) is calculated to be 8.63×10^(-3) s^(-1) at room temperature for the red...Magnetic Fe_3O_4@PANI@Au nanocomposites are fabricated through electrostatic self-assembly and seed growth methods.The rate constant K_(app) is calculated to be 8.63×10^(-3) s^(-1) at room temperature for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol with an excessive amount of NaBH_4 as a model system showing outstanding catalytic efficiency and stability.For recyclable performance,the catalyst exhibits slight loss in catalytic performance on the conversion of 4-nitrophenol after running for more than 10 cycles.Besides,the smaller and simpler the structure,the easier the molecular structure can be degraded,and the faster the cationic dyes can be degraded than the anionic dyes,which can reveal the selectivity.For practical application,Congo red as a pollutant of the lake water is degraded rapidly after Fe_3O_4@PANI@Au is added to the solution in a few minutes.It has been demonstrated that magnetic Fe_3O_4@PANI@Au nanoparticle composite is a promising catalyst for environment sewage.展开更多
