This paper reports on a study which dealt with teaching English to a large group of non-English majors in a traditional context at Xinjiang Normal University, China. An eclectic teaching mode was designed and a questionnaire was conducted together with three tests. The results show that the disadvantages of a large class can be minimized to some degree.展开更多
