Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, CBM, CNKI, VIP and Wanfang Databases were searched for papers on a range of terms relating to CFT. 41 references were finally selected for this review. Results: The development of CFT is comprised of five important periods in Chinese history. They axe as following: the infancy period represented by the idea of homogeny of medicine and food; theoretical development period represented by Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor, Shennong 1' Classic of Materia Medica and Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Diseases; specialized volumes on CFT represented by Dietotherapy Worth a Thousand Gold; representative monographs on CFT represented by Dietetic Materia Medica and Principles of Correct Diet and the perfect period represented by integration of ancient food therapy practice and modern nutriology. Conclusion: CFT harbors a long and profound history, making great contribution to people's health maintenance and illness prevention. With the further development of integrative medicine, CFT may play a more important role in clinics and family health care based on integration of syndrome differentiation and disease differentiation.展开更多

The books were used for registration of all prescriptions based on which medicines have been produced in the pharmacy. Their contents reveal what medications were prescribed for treatment of various diseases, what kind of ingredients were used in the produce of medicines, and how much medicines cost. Lithuanian museums and archives stored dozen XIX-twentieth century the first half of prescription books. The present research analyses the prescription books of Petra^i~nai, a suburban area of the Lithuanian1 provisional capital, and a small Batakiai town in Taurage county with the population of 800, in 1935 Both books are stored in the Lithuanian Medical and Pharmaceutical History Museum. The study reveals what medicines were used for treatment of Lithuanian urban and rural residents in 1935, what the most often prescribed medicines were, specifics of the composition of medicines prescribed by doctors and a paramedic, popularity of animal medicines and the prices of medicines. The research was based on the methods of historical benchmark data processing and statistical analysis.展开更多

These are mainly because natural products normally target biological macromolecules selectively. Target identification could help us to develop new therapeutic agents and discover new biological pathways underlying human diseases. Herein, we highlight some recent examples of using natural products and their derivatives as chemical probes to identify the molecular targets and elucidate mode of action.展开更多

文摘Natural products have been extensively used to treat diseases throughout human history. These are mainly because natural products normally target biological macromolecules selectively. Target identification could help us to develop new therapeutic agents and discover new biological pathways underlying human diseases. Herein, we highlight some recent examples of using natural products and their derivatives as chemical probes to identify the molecular targets and elucidate mode of action.
