Methods; A total of 40 herpes zceter patients were randomized into acupuncture plus medication group ( n = 21 ) and medication group ( n = 19) which were treated respectively with topical plum-blossom needle tapping in the focus region combined with intravenous drip of Acyclovir (250 rng+250 mL normal saline, twice daily) and simple intravenous drip of Acyclovir. Results: After treatment, of the 21 and 19 cases in acupuncture plus medication and medication groups, 18 (85.7%) and 10 (52.6%) were cured, 3 ( 14.3% ) and 7 (36.8%) had marked improvement, 0 (0) and 2 ( 10.5% ) failed, with the effective rates being 100,0% and 89,5% respectively. The cure duration of acupuncture plus medication end medication groups were (2.5± 1.0) days and (4.0±2.3) days separately. The therapeutic effect of the former group was significantly superior to that of the later group (P〈 0.05) and the duration of cure of acupuncture plus medication group was evidently shorter than that of medication group (P〈0.05). Conclusion: The therapeutic effect of plum-blossom needle tapping plus Acyclovir is significantly superior to that of simple Acyclovir in relieving pain, promoting scabbing, and shortening the therapeutic duration.展开更多

Methods: A total of 180 outpatients with acute urticaria were randomized into treatment group and control group. 100 cases in the treatment group were treated with EA at Quchi (曲池 LI 11) and Xuehai (血海 SP 10) as the main points which were supplemented with Dazhui (大椎 GV 14), Fengchi (风池 GB 20), Geshu (膈俞 BL 17), Pishu (脾俞 BL 20), etc. 80 cases in the control group were managed by chlorpheniramine maleate and Vitamin C. Results: After 3 days’ treatment, of the 100 and 80 cases in treatment and control groups, 79 and 53 were cured, 10 and 6 markedly effective, 5 and 8 effective, and 6 and 13 failed, with the effective rates being 94.00% and 83.75% respectively. The therapeutic effect of electroacupunture was significantly superior to that of medication(P<0.05). Conclusion: The method of electroacupuncture at Quchi (曲池 LI 11), Xuehai (血海 SP 10),etc. was a more effective therapy for acute urticaria.展开更多

Methods: Seventy patients were randomly divided into two groups. Thirty-six cases in the treatment group were treated with acupuncture, acupoint injection therapy and tapping with plum-blossom needle, while 34 cases in the control group were treated with oral administration of Loratadine plus topical application of Halometasone Cream. Results: After a three-week treatment, the curative and remarkable effective rate and the total effective rate were respectively 80.6% and 97.2% in the treatment group, versus 47.1% and 79.4% in the control group. The differences in the curative and remarkable effective rate and total effective rate between the two groups were statistically significant (all P〈O.05). No obvious adverse reaction appeared in the two groups during the treatment. Conclusion: Acupuncture plus acupoint injection therapy is effective for chronic eczema with high in safety.展开更多
