[Method] Through measuring the minimum inhibitory concentra-tion, the in vitro antibacterial activity of golden buckwheat water extract was deter-mined; meanwhile, the therapeutic effect of golden buckwheat oral solution on my-coplasma infection was determined by artificial y infecting chickens with Mycoplasma gal isepticum culture. [Results] The golden buckwheat water extract had obvious in-hibitory effects against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli, and a certain inhibitory effect on Salmonel a and Staphylococcus aureus; administration of golden buckwheat oral solution at the dose of 0.5%-1.0% continuously for 5 d had a good therapeutic effect against mycoplasma infection. [Conclusion] The study provides sci-entific bases for further study on the antibacterial activity of golden buckwheat and its application.展开更多

J. Tseng. [ Method ] By using test tube 2 -fold dilution method and Kirby-Baueer Disc Diffusionto,we conducted inhibitory test on S. aureus and E, coil and determined the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC)and the diameter of inhibition zone. [ Result ] The extract 1 had fairly strong in vitro bacteriostasis activities and than the extract2 and extract3. The MIC and MBC was 3.91 mg/ml and 31.25 mg/ml on S. aureus and E. coil [ Conclusion] The result showed that the different extract from Ilex Kudingcha C. J. Tseng had varying amount of different bacteriostatic activities, the Ilex Kudingcha C. J. Tseng was developed new and safe bacteriostatic reagent to provide reference.展开更多

In this research, a process has been developed to integratively extract ergosterol, (1→3)-α-D-glucan, and chitosan from Penicillium chrysongenum mycelium. First the mycelia are pretreated with 0.1mol·L^-1 of NaOH. After recovery by centrifugation the solid portion is made to undergo saponification and deacetylation reactaons by addition of 2mol·L^-1 NaOH and et anol. After reaction, extraction is carried out by addition of petroleum ether, which separates the reaction mixture into two phases. The upper layer of petroleum ether contains extracted ergosterol, and the .bottom layer of NaOH solution contains (1→3)-α-DEglucan; the chitosan is on the mycelia residuum. After isolation, the recovery yield of ergosterol is 0.52% of dry mycelium. That of (1→3)-α-D-glucan is about 8.2%; and chitosan is 5.7% with 86% deacetylation. The compositions have been characterized by 1R, HPLC analyses.展开更多

The berry was extracted by ethanol-water solution. MTT assay and growth rate method were applied to determine antibacterial ability in vitro of the extract solution. The antibacterial and antifungal assay indicated that the extract exhibited different degree of inhibitory activity. The result showed that the extract at a concentration of 1 250 mg/L had the maximum inhibitory effect against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and Staphylococcus aureus. Inhibitory effect against B. subtilis was much larger than that against the other two bacterial species. MIC values(minimum inhibitory concentration) of the extract on three bacterial species were 5 000, 1 250, and 1 000 mg/L respectively. IC_(50)(50% inhibiting concentration) evaluation of Trichoderma viride, Rhizopus stolonifer, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium expansum, and Vintage Red indicated that the berry had the strongest inhibitory effect against P. expansum(5 520 mg/L), while it had the weakest inhibitory effect against R. stolonifer(18 870 mg/L). The results proved that seabuckthorn berry had highly effective and comprehensive antimicrobial function.展开更多

As of now, no effective control method of these phytopathogens is available. Therefore the search for new efficient and ecologically undamaging fungicides was essential. The present study reports the antifungal activity of five organic extracts of Corrigiola telephiifolia Pourr., a Moroccan medicinal plant, against these fungi using mycelial growth inhibition assays (in vitro). The extracts concentration varied from 0.01 to 1 mg.mlt. Also, preliminary information on the chemical composition of the extracts is included. The results showed a difference in sensitivity of both fungi toward the plant extracts. The mycelia growth of Sclerotium rolfsii was concentration and time-dependant. It was markedly inhibited by the polar extracts especially at high dose (p〈 0.001). While Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. albedinis was much less sensitive.展开更多
