It w...This paper reports a survey on the general features of the pocket electronic dictionaries (PED) owned by the non-English major college students and their use as a substitute for conventional printed dictionaries. It was found that the majority of the non-English major college students have chosen to use a PED despite its expensiveness as compared with the paper dictionary. Comparison is made in great detail between the pocket electronic dictionary and paper dictionary on various aspects. Suggestions are provided for Chinese foreign language teachers to give expert guidance in their students' pocket electronic dictionary use.展开更多
