Acoupled biharmonic spline and linear interpolation algorithm was proposed to create a three-dimensional smooth deposit model with minimal curvature containing grade and position data. To obtain the optimal technical parameters, such as cuttingheight and drum diameter, a virtual longwall mining procedure was modelled by simulating the actual fully mechanized longwall mining process. Based on the above work, a bauxite deposit in a longwall mining panel was modelled by scattered grade data from ores sampled on the entry wall. The deposit was then demarcated by industrial indexes and sliced according to the virtual longwallmining procedure. The results show that the proposed interpolation algorithm can depict the stratiform structure of bauxite depositsand that the uncovered bauxite deposit has high proportions of high-grade and rich ore. The ranges of optimal cutting height and drum diameters are 1.72-2.84 m and 1.42-1.72 m, respectively. Finally, an intellectualized longwall mining procedure was designed to guide the mining process with the lowest dilution and loss rates. 展开更多

[Objective] To study virtual plant modeling based on mutual feedback of function-structure.[Method] With the analysis of the shortcomings of current virtual plant modeling method,the modeling with the idea of function-structure mutual feedback was put forward,and the steps of this modeling were elaborated,including the determination of morphological structure model,biomass production model,biomass allocation model,organ reconstruction model,and the integration method of function model and morphological structure model.[Results] The breakthrough of function-structure mutual feedback based mechanism from the boundaries of physiological ecology model and morphological structure model can solve the difficulty of data transmission between the two models and build an integrated model from the two,which can effectively reflect the incidence relation between plant morphology and function,and more suitable for the growth mechanisms of plants.This modeling approach has significant advantages in the dynamic simulation of plant growth.[Conclusion] The virtual plant modeling based on function-structure mutual feedback provides basis for the simulation of plant growth status in the next stage,and has important significance for the accurate simulation of the dynamic growth process of plant. 展开更多

The virtual reality based motion simulation of the guide wire and the catheter inside specific vascular structures can benefit a lot for the endovascular intervention. A fast and well-performed collision cancellation algorithm is proposed based on the geometric analysis and the angular propagation (AP), and a 3-D real-time interactive system is developed for the motion simulation of the guide wire and the catheter inside the specific patient vascular. The guide wire or the catheter is modeled as the "multi-body" representation and properties are defined by its intrinsic characteristics. The motion of the guide wire or the catheter inside the vascular is guided by the collision detection and the collision cancellation algorithm. Finally, a relaxation procedure is used to achieve more realistic status. Experimental results show that the behavior of the guide wire or the catheter depends on the defined parameters. The real-time simulation can be achieved. The result shows that the simulation system is effective and promising. 展开更多

In order to investigate the existence of a stable long-run equilibrium relationship between economic growth and consumption in China, the relationship between the gross domestic product (GDP) and consumption in China was investigated by the cointegration analysis method. Using the Engle-Granger (EG) test and considering the possibility of structural changes, the impact of external economic shocks on the long-run equilibrium relationship between economic growth and consumption in China was analyzed. Analysis results show that without considering structural changes, the EG test cannot detect cointegration in the series subjected to structural changes; in considering structural changes, cointegration is successfully detected by specifying the dummy variable. In addition, the error correction models were constructed in different periods. This study verifies the existence of a long-run equilibrium relationship between economic growth and consumption in China, and this relationship has significantly changed in 1989 and 1997, respectively. 展开更多

This paper describes the model test and the virtual simulation respectively for the VLCC class FPSO hookup, as well as addresses their different applications to the mating operation between the FPSO and the soft yoke mooring system (SYMS) in extremely shallow water. The scope of the model test and the virtual simulation covers various installation stages including a series of positioning trials, positioning keeping and temporary mooring to the pre-installed SYMS mooring tower, pendulum mating, and yoke ballasting to storm-safe. The model test is to accurately verify bollard pull capacity to keep the FPSO in position and assess motion responses and mooring loads for the FPSO and installation vessels during various installation stages. The virtual simulation is to provide a virtual-reality environment, thus realistically replicating the hookup operation at the Simulation Test Center (STC) facility and identifying any deficiencies in key installation personnel, execution plan, or operation procedures. The methodologies of the model test and the virtual simulation addressed here can be easily extended to the deepwater applications such as positioning and installation operations of various floating systems. 展开更多

According to the bio-characteristics of the lower and upper cavity surfaces of dental restoration, a stitching approach is proposed based on a virtual zipper working mechanism and a minimization of the surface total curvature energy, which is used to resolve the stitching problems existing during computer-aided design for dental restorations. First, the two boundaries corresponding to the lower and upper surfaces are triangulated based on the zipper working mechanism to generate the initial stitching surface patch, of which the edges are distributed uniformly between the boundaries. Secondly, the initial stitching surface patch is subdivided and deformed to reconstruct an optimized surface patch according to the bio-characteristics of the teeth. The optimized surface patch is minimally distinguishable from the surrounding mesh in smoothness and density, and it can stitch the upper and lower cavity surfaces naturally. The experimental results show that the dental restorations obtained by the proposed method can satisfy both the shape aesthetic and the fitting accuracy, and meet the requirements of clinical oral medicine. 展开更多

Numerical simulations are performed on the interface with large deformation induced by the interaction between a moving shock and two consecutive bubbles. The high performance of the level set method for multi-material interfaces is demonstrated. Discontinuous Galerkin finite element method is used to solve Euleri- an equations. And the fifth-order weighted essentially non-oscillatory (WENO) scheme is used to solve the level set equation for capturing multi-material interfaces. The ghost fluid method is used to deal with the interfacial boundary condition. Results are obtained for two bubble interacting with a moving shock. The contours of the constant density and the pressure at different time are given. In the computational domain, three different cases are considered, i.e. two helium bubbles, a helium bubble followed by an R22 bubble in the direction of the moving shock, and an R22 bubble followed by a helium bubble. Computational results indicate that multi-mate- rial interfaces can be properly captured by the level set method. Therefore, for problems involving the flow of three different materials with two different interfaces, each interface separating two different materials can be similarly handled. 展开更多

The simulation results show that the design of underwater hydraulic impingement shovel is rational. The problems of data exchange and compatibility of modules are settled. Environment of the system is founded with object oriented programming thought. AutoCAD is located as the graphic environment. Matlab is used for editing the computation module. Virtual C ++6.0 is the realization environment of the main module. Windows is the platform for realizing the multi-environmental method. Through establishing the virtual system based windows message handling mechanism and the component object model, the application of multienvironmental programming is realized in the manufacture system simulation. Ten typical M1 agonists were superimposed to build a M1 agonists 3D-pharmacophore model using distance-comparisons (DISCO) method without the previous knowledge of the three-dimensional structure of M1 receptor. Virtual screening strategy was used to analyze the Available Chemicals Directory-Screening Compounds (ACD-SC) to identify possible new hits. Twenty-two compounds which fit the pharmacophore model well and are not similar with known M1 agonists were purchased in order to evaluate their M1 receptor agonist activity. One of them shows M1 receptor agonist activity with EC50 of 4.90 μmol/L and maximum response. Multiple of 10.0 which shows it worthy of further study as a new lead compound for M1 agonists. 展开更多

Presently, the complexity of the system, the interference between sub-systems and the lag in management skills has been a bottle neck for improving productivity of the system. Based on the fact that the traditional tools for safety analysis have been insufficient to evaluate systematically and dynamically the safety risks, this paper tries to create a virtual reality tool consisting of human, machine and mines, using Pro/E and the 3D MAX software in order to evaluate visually the operations of typical mining equipment, such as the bucket wheel excavator (BWE), the shovel, the truck and the dragline. Within this virtual world, the behavior of the system, such as interaction, interference and potential risk can be replayed and reviewed visually. A unilateral self-locking mechanism(USM) was proposed to increase the tractive ability of the inchworm in-pipe robots for pipeline inspection.The USM was basically composed of a cam,a torsional spring and an axis.The self-locking and virtual work principles were applied to studying the basic self-locking condition of the USM.In order to make the cooperation between the crutch and telescopic mechanism more harmonical,the unlocking time of the USM was calculated.A set of parameters were selected to build a virtual model and fabricate a prototype.Both the simulation and performance experiments were carried out in a pipe with a nominal inside diameter of 160 mm.The results show that USM enables the robot to move quickly in one way,and in the other way it helps the robot get self-locking with the pipe wall.The traction of the inchworm robot can rise to 1.2 kN,beyond the limitation of friction of 0.497 kN. 展开更多

A new approach is proposed to analyze the settlement behavior for single pile embedded in layered soils. Firstly, soil layers surrounding pile shaft are simulated by using distributed Voigt model, and finite soil layers under the pile end are assumed to be virtual soil-pile whose cross-section area is the same as that of the pile shaft. Then, by means of Laplace transform and impedance function transfer method to solve the static equilibrium equation of pile, the analytical solution of the displacement impedance fimction at the pile head is derived. Furthermore, the analytical solution of the settlement at the head of single pile is theoretically derived by virtue of convolution theorem. Based on these solutions, the influences of parameters of soil-pile system on the settlement behavior for single pile are analyzed. Also, comparison of the load-settlement response for two well-instrumented field tests in multilayered soils is given to demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed approach. It can be noted that the presented solution can be used to calculate the settlement of single pile for the preliminary design of pile foundation. 展开更多

Constructing the 3D virtual scene of a coal mine is the objective requirement for modernizing and processing information on coal mining production. It is also the key technology to establish a "digital mine". By exploring current worldwide research, software and hardware tools and application demands, combined with the case study site (the Dazhuang mine of Pingdingshan coal group), an approach for 3D geo-visualization of a mine surface plant and mine roadway is deeply discussed. In this study, the rapid modeling method for a large range virtual scene based on Arc/Info and SiteBuilder3D is studied, and automatic generation of a 3D scene from a 2D scene is realized. Such an automatic method which can convert mine roadway systems from 2D to 3D is realized for the Dazhuang mine. Some relevant application questions are studied, including attribute query, coordinate query, distance measure, collision detection and the dynamic interaction between 2D and 3D virtual scenes in the virtual scene of a mine surface plant and mine roadway.
