目的通过为腹膜透析(腹透)病人具体制定的每天摄入蛋白质的量、种类、搭配后膳食配方,以此提高病人血浆蛋白,预防低蛋白血症的发生。方法将本科收治的腹透病人随机分为实验组(40例)和对照组(40例),实验组根据病人体质量、饮食习惯,制定... 目的通过为腹膜透析(腹透)病人具体制定的每天摄入蛋白质的量、种类、搭配后膳食配方,以此提高病人血浆蛋白,预防低蛋白血症的发生。方法将本科收治的腹透病人随机分为实验组(40例)和对照组(40例),实验组根据病人体质量、饮食习惯,制定具体的蛋白质摄入方案,制成卡片发给病人。对照组按传统教育方式,即口头宣教,强调多食肉类,少食植物类食品。结果实验组进行为期9个月蛋白质饮食量化管理,与对照组相比,明显提高血浆蛋白浓度,使输注血浆和全血数量减少,提高腹透治疗质量,减少住院频率,缩短住院时间。结论蛋白质饮食量化管理能有效提高腹透病人血浆蛋白浓度,对控制病情、降低并发症发生率、提高患者生活质量有重要意义。 展开更多

[Result] It was showed that the protein content of non-diapause pupae was from 111.768 to 115.030 7 mg/g and the change of protein content during whole pupal stage, while diapause pupae were from 81.218 to 131.623 7 mg/g and the change of protein content was not big from last ten-day period of October to last ten-day pariod of November, however, the content increased from the last ten-day period of November. [Objective] This study aimed to investigate the effect of potyamine priming on physiological and biochemical variations of Lolium perenne embryos and seed germination. [Method] With annual Lolium perenne (Diamond T and Grazing-8000) as experimental materials, after priming with 0.5 mmol/L putrescine (Put), spermidine (Spd) and spermine (Spm) for 24 h and chilling imbibition at 5 ℃ for 12, 24, 36 and 48 h, the effect of Put, Spd and Spm priming on chilling tolerance and germination ability of annual Lolium perenne seeds during imbibition was investigated. [Result] Put, Spd and Spm priming improved the activities of peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) and content of soluble protein content under low temperature stress, significantly in-creased the germination rate, and shortened the average germination duration. After chilling imbibition for 48 h, compared with the control, the average germination rate of annual Lolium perenne seeds was improved by 15.5% and 12.0% after Put, Spd and Spm priming, and the average germination duration was shortened by 1.21 and 1.14 d. During seed imbibition, the chilling tolerance of Grazing-8000 was stronger than that of Diamond T. Overall, Put, Spd and Spm treatment could increase the chilling tolerance of annual Lolium perenne seeds during imbibition, and improve the germination ability of seeds under low temperature stress. [Conclusion] Results of this study provided theoretical basis for the application of seed priming technology in the production of annual ryegrass. 展开更多

[Method] Fresh burley tobacco leaves were collected at various growing stages and dried to measure the content of total nitrogen, protein and nico- tine by using INTEGRAL automated chemical analyzer and analyze the correlation with nitrogen application level. [Result] Regardless of the nitrogen application level, the content of total nitrogen and protein showed a downward trend since root ex- tending stage and reached the minimum at mature stage; the content of nicotine showed an upward trend since early vigorous growing stage and increased to the maximum at mature stage; the content of total nitrogen, protein and nicotine all in- creased after air curing; the content of total nitrogen, protein and nicotine showed positive correlation with nitrogen application level, while total nitrogen/nicotine was negatively correlated. The results indicate that nitrogen level is closely related to the total nitrogen and nicotine of burley tobacco at growing period and post-air curing, rational application of nitrogen is an important measure to regulate the content of total nitrogen and nicotine of tobacco. Complex perianal fistulas have a negative impact on the quality of life of sufferers and should be treated.Correct diagnosis,characterization and classification of the fistulas are essential to optimize treatment.Nevertheless, in the case of patients whose fistulas are associated with Crohn's disease,complete closure is particularly difficult to achieve.Systemic medical treatments(antibiotics, thiopurines and other immunomodulatory agents,and, more recently,anti-tumor necrosis factor-αagents such as infliximab)have been tried with varying degrees of success.Combined medical(including infliximab)and less aggressive surgical therapy(drainage and seton placement)offer the best outcomes in complex Crohn's fistulas while more aggressive surgical procedures such as fistulotomy or fistulectomy may increase the risk of incontinence.This review will focus on emerging novel treatments for perianal disease in Crohn's patients. These include locally applied infliximab or tacrolimus, fistula plugs,instillation of fibrin glue and the use of adult expanded adipose-derived stem cell injection.More welldesigned controlled studies are required to confirm the effectiveness of these emerging treatments. 展开更多

In a 10-day aquarium experiment, this investigation examines macrophyte restoration in eutrophic Lake Taihu, the physiological effects of different plant biomass levels and of increasing natural cyanobacterial concentrations on a submerged macrophyte, Vallisneria asiatica. Cyanobacterial stress suppressed the superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity of the plant's leaves and induced the catalase (CAT) and peroxidase (POD) activities of its roots. The soluble protein content in V. asiatica decreased with an increase in natural cyanobacterial concentrations, whereas the malonaldehyde (MDA) increased significantly at chlorophyll a (Chl a) concentrations of 222 and 262 μg/L in water. V. asiatica adapted to the stress caused by cyanobacterial concentrations by adjusting its antioxidant defense system to remove the excessive reactive oxygen species when the algal Chl a concentration was 〉109 μg/L. Additionally, high biomass of V. asiatica (2 222 g FW/m^2) can inhibit the reproduction of cyanobacteria more significantly than low biomass (1 111 g FW/m^2). High biomass of V. asiatica increased the oxidative stress in an individual plant when the initial Chl a concentration in the water reached 222 and 262 μg/L, as expressed by the increased MDA in leaves, compared with low biomass of K asiatica. This provides a basis for controlling cyanobacterial concentrations and V. asiatica biomass for the recovery of V. asiatica in eutrophic Lake Taihu. 展开更多

This study was carried out to investigate the growth performance, carcass yield and meat quality of large-type Korean native ducks (KND). A total of 420 day-old ducklings were divided into four treatments (seven replicates/treatment, 15 birds/replicate) by strains (A and B) and gender (male and female) in a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement under complete randomized design. The body weight (BW) of female KND was higher at week 2 and for male it was higher in week 8 (P 〈 0.05). BW gain, feed intake and feed conversion ratio of male KND were higher than those of female KND (P 〈 0.05) during week 0 to week 8. The carcass yield of both strains increased from 6 weeks to 8 weeks (P 〈 0.05). The breast meat ratio was the highest at week 8 whereas the leg meat ratio was the highest at 6 weeks of age in both strains (P 〈 0.01). Lightness (L*), yellowness (b*) and juiciness of meat were the highest at 6 weeks (P 〈 0.05). Moisture, ash and fat contents of meat were the highest at 7 weeks (P 〈 0.05) and protein content was the highest at 8 weeks (P 〈 0.01). These results may provide the basic data on growth performance and meat quality of large-type KND, which can be used for genetic improvements and rearing at commercial scale. 展开更多

The macronutrient composition and in vitro protein digestibility of extruded fermented and unfermented extruded soya protein products (low, medium and high moisture), raw and fermented soya meal and soya kernel were studied. The protein content (g/100g soya dry weight) ranged from 38.20 to 62.98 with the highest content in the high moisture extruded protein product fermented with 5 mL inoculum of Bacillus natto. Contents of carbohydrates ranged from 14.77 to 29.08 while those of crude fibre, fat and ash were generally low. Fermentation better improved protein digestibility in the raw soya meal and kernel than in the unfermented extruded and extruded fermented products. SDS-PAGE electrophoresis revealed some degradation of the protein sub units of fermented samples. 展开更多

Relationship between Seed Yield and Yield Chracteristics in Faba Bean (Vicia faba L.) by GGE-Biplot Analysis

Viciafaba L. was domesticated around 8000 BC in the Near East; the crop spread to Central Europe and Russia through Anatolia, the Danube Valley and the Caucasus; to Eastern Mediterranean regions through the Mediterranean coast and the Isles; from Egypt and Arabian Coast (the Arabia Felix) to Abyssinia; through Mesopotamia to India and China probably during the first millennium AD (only land races of major type, the latest in being produced, were known in China until recently). Faba bean (Vicia faba L.) is grown world-wide as a protein source for food and feed. The importance of nutzients (micro and macro) for human growth is universally recognized. An investigation was camed out to select the most successful faba bean genotypes to estimate for seed yield and some of agro-morphological traits. Effective interpretation of the dataon breeding programes is important at all stages of plant improvment. The GT (genotype by trait) was used for two-way faba bean genotypes with multiple traits. For this purpose, six faba bean genotypes with specific components were tested and the GT biplot for genotype data explained 83% of total variation of the standardized data. The polygon view of GT presented for five traits of faba bean genotypes showed three vertex genotypes as Goryaka, Karcacaoglan and Seher. Genotype G0ryaka had the highest values for most of the traits. It was demonstzaited that the selection of high seed yield will be via hundred seed weight and planth height. These traits should be considered meanwhile as effective selection criteria developing high yielding faba bean genotypes because of their large contibution to grain yield. The genotypes Goryaka and Karacaoglan could be well-considered for improving of desirable candidate in selection of improvement studies. 展开更多

Studied responses (protein, overall acceptability, hue angle and hardness) resulted to high protein pasta. The optima were at 12.5%,5 mung bean, 10% whey protein concentrate and 6% egg albumen in combination. Best combination of protein source and their respective level for high protein pasta on the quality evaluation basis were mung bean (15%) + whey protein concentrate (10%); mung bean (15%) + egg albumen (6%); mung bean (15%) + whey protein concentrate (10%) + egg albumen (6%). Hue angle and Hardness remained within acceptable range. Model adequacy was supported with lack of fit test. Enriched protein pasta had excellent cooking and sensory quality during storage period of 4 months. ERH value ranged from 34-36 per cent had supported the results. Rheological properties and good storage behaviour (4 months) had also enhanced the quality of optimized protein enriched pasta. Enriched pasta was rated excellent by 70 per cent of the consumers in mass acceptability trials. 展开更多

However, its nutritional aspect is also a matter of concern. The objective of the present study was hence to assess the nutrient components of fast food sold in streets of Patna town. A total of 30 fast food samples from streets were collected from different locations of Patna town in aseptic containers and immediately transferred to the laboratory for proximate analysis. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze the collected data. In terms of nutrient contribution, the highest energy content was found in Hot potato chips (536 ~ 85.2 kcal /I00 g) followed by Chicken chawmin (527 ~ 253.08 kcal/plat), Chilli chicken (464 ~ 91.8 kcal/plat) and Pav bhaji (425 -4- 164 kcal/plat). Highest level of protein was detected in Chilli chicken at 27.3 ~ 5.01 g per serving. Protein of Chilli chicken supplied approximately 29% of the total energy content per serving. Maximum amount of fat was also found in Chilli ckicken (35.5 ~ 31.89 g/plat). Total fat contribution of Chilli ckicken to the total energy per serving found to be approximately 67%. Highest level of carbohydrate was detected in Idli at 15.0 ~ 9.18 g per serving of sample which contributed approximately 91% of the total energy content per serving. From this study it was concluded that street fast foods provide an appreciable amount of recommended nutrient composition. It could be observed in this study that street fast foods supply appreciable amount of nutrients and calories to the people of Patna. 展开更多

The effects of three nitrogen sources (ammonium, nitrate and ammonium+nitrate) and three salt treatments (0, 100 and 200 mM NaCl) on nitrate reductase activity, proline, soluble protein and carbohydrate contents in psylliom (Plantago ovata) plants were Studied. The nitrate reductase activity tended to increase when NO3- was included in the root-zone solution, but decrease as salinity increased. All N sources stimulated plant growth and nutrient uptake. Shoot and root dry matter tended to decrease as salinity increased, but less so when both NH4+ and NO3- were present. Shoot biomass accumulated to significantly greater quantities under the mixed-N treatments than when produced using either NH4+ or NO3- N-form alone. Although not statistically significant, the root biomasses showed a similar tendency. Generally, leaf proline and soluble shoot carbohydrate contents increased with increasing salinity in contrast to soluble protein which decreased regardless of the N source. Under salinity conditions, the concentration of Na+ in shoot and root tissues was highest in ammonium-N treatment, while that of K+ was highest in the mixed-N treatment. 展开更多

Germination significantly increased protein content of pearl millet, with a parallel decrease in lipid and carbohydrates. Trypsin inhibitor activity and the phytic acid content showed significant decrease whereas tannin content increased after 5 days germination. In vitro protein digestibility (IVPD) was significantly decreased with germination, suggesting that tannins may be responsible for enzymes inhibition. Amino acid analysis revealed significant increase in essential amino acids and none essential amino acids. 展开更多

Protein is a major component in muscles.Biochemical or chemical changes occur during processing of fresh meat and meat products,which positively or negatively affects meat quality attributes.In this review,we discussed research progress in three aspects:(1)protein modification,degradation and meat quality of fresh meat,(2)protein changes and quality of meat products,and(3)protein digestion.It is emphasized that protein degradation is good for meat tenderization and the production of precursors for meat flavor and taste.However,protein oxidation has the beneficial and detrimental effects in different ways.Moderate oxidation should be acceptable in terms of meat eating quality and nutritional values,but heavy oxidation should be avoided. 展开更多

Protein folding is regarded as a quantum transition between the torsion states of a polypeptide chain.According to the quantum theory of conformational dynamics,we propose the dynamical contact order(DCO) defined as a characteristic of the contact described by the moment of inertia and the torsion potential energy of the polypeptide chain between contact residues.Conse-quently,the protein folding rate can be quantitatively studied from the point of view of dynamics.By comparing theoretical calculations and experimental data on the folding rate of 80 proteins,we successfully validate the view that protein folding is a quantum conformational transition.We conclude that(i) a correlation between the protein folding rate and the contact inertial moment exists;(ii) multi-state protein folding can be regarded as a quantum conformational transition similar to that of two-state proteins but with an intermediate delay.We have estimated the order of magnitude of the time delay;(iii) folding can be classified into two types,exergonic and endergonic.Most of the two-state proteins with higher folding rate are exergonic and most of the multi-state proteins with low folding rate are endergonic.The folding speed limit is determined by exergonic folding. 展开更多
