Sustainable development and upgrading mode of coal industry in China

It is an emerging realistic problem on how to promote a high level of technology in the coal industry, find new upgrading powers and create new competitive advantages, which are also the core problems to efficient transformation pattern of economic growth for coal industry in the ''twelfth five-year'' period, involving the key to China's energy supply and energy security. Through field surveys and inductive analyses, analyzing of the content of upgrading the coal industry as an entry point, this paper analyzes the sustainable development mechanisms for the coal industry from the aspects of work force, power, methods, goals, and so on; and puts forward corresponding developmental modes according to the mechanisms which can improve resource recovery and mineral resources utilization rates by putting them into practice.

A Research on QFD-＂House of Brand＂ in Fashion Industry

Fashion continues to be an area that reflects the increasing popularity of different theoretical and practical approaches of researchers from different disciplines. Due to the rapid cycles of fashion, sustainable products and processes in terms of technical creativity and innovative approach are needed. In this context, fashion marketing emerges as an integrative marketing application with its both technical and social aspects by taking potential customers center that symbolize rapid change and creativity of fashion products. In this study, QFD-House of Brand was designed with Quality Function Deployment （QFD） approach. In this context, the experts （focus group） in Fashion Industry evaluated the selected fashion brand and its selected products by prioritizing the criteria. These evaluations were used in QFD-House of Brand. Thus, technical and social aspects of fashion industry were analysed together. By this technique, QFD-House of Brand established in relation to products and brand was interpreted and optimization suggestions were presented in accordance with the findings of the research. In addition, suggestions on sustainability and optimization of brand equity in fashion industry were provided.

Comprehensive Evaluation of Different Aspects of BIM Applications in Sustainable Design

Growing environmental concerns require efforts for application of sustainability in construction industry. Today, there is an increasing need for sustainable building design. Besides, BIM （building information modeling） is one of the most noteworthy developments in construction industry. BIM is used to make the planning, design, construction, and operation process more integrated. The purpose of this paper is to survey application of BIM in sustainable building design. This exploration is done by reviewing the existing studies in the field of BIM and sustainable design. There have been few attempts to evaluate and analyze the benefits of BIM in sustainable design, and existing researches have not developed integrated analysis to evaluate different aspects of BIM application. In this study, BIM and sustainable design researches are categorized into some major areas. First, frameworks and design strategies for better implementation of sustainable design have been developed. Other application of BIM software is for improving sustainable design in which some case studies have been presented for this purpose. Another major area is focusing on a specific aspect of sustainable buildings such as using natural resources, energy simulation, daylighting analysis and carbon emissions. Scrutiny review of the current studies shows excellent potential for interaction of BIM with sustainable construction.

Restructuring and Sustainability-Corporate Strategy of Commercial Bank in Thailand： A Siam Commercial Bank

This article presents a case study of the Siam Commercial Bank （SCB） by investigating why and how SCB implemented organizational restructuring during the uncertain economic environment, and gives an overview of the Thai commercial bank industry. This article presents and discusses SCB＇s strategy implementation in its organization during 1997-2010. This case study is aimed to provide some guidelines for other companies in developing and in choosing strategies for their business sustainability in the global change, and in choosing the implementation of their organization structure for competitive markets.

Research on the Low Carbon Development Strategy of the Real Estate Enterprise Based on the Whole Life Cycle of the Project

This paper analyzes the present development situations of the real estate industry, puts forwards the low carbon development strategies based on the project life cycle for the real estate enterprises, and points out the corresponding assistant suggestions according to the predicament in the implementation of low carbon strategy. The purpose is to provide a theoretical reference for low carbon development of the real estate enterprises and the healthy and sustainable development of the real estate industry.

Approach to the Reserve against Deposit System and the Sustainable Development of Chinese Commercial Banks

Since the establishment of the reserve against deposit system in China, theorists have different views about it. After analyzing some of those views, this essay proposes that presently, it is inappropriate to cancel that system, and the rate of the required reserve should be reduced instead of being removed. With the analysis, the author points out the defects of that system, and makes a further study of that system's influence on the sustainable development of the commercial banks in China. In the last part, from several aspects, namely, the institutional environment, the rate of required reserve, the structure, and the mode of calculating and drawing money, the author offers some suggestions for the perfection of China's reserve against deposit system, and the acceleration of the sustainable development of commercial banks.

BIM Implementation--A Bibliographic Study of the Benefits and Costs Involved

The construction sector has always been constantly changing, becoming increasingly aggressive, requiring new strategies to adapt to international and national scenarios. In the development of a project, there are many constraints, which often end up in problems such as waste materials, generating waste affecting the environment and also resulting in high costs oftbe work that could be avoided. Then came the concept of BIM （building information modeling） defined by a digital model consists of a database, allowing the development of projects with various professionals working in an integrated manner, being able to support all aspects of the life cycle of the project. Therefore, from the research information on the implementation of BIM methodology, it was possible to propose new ways of thinking and designing buildings, contributing to the completion of research in the management of projects and sustainability areas relevant to the development of engineering.

Analysis of China＇s retail industry to promote sustainable development

The Development of a Seed Stock Industry Using Indigenous Livestock from Rural Keepers for Sustainable Production

The majority of livestock in the rural areas of Africa are indigenous types that are not well defined as breeds as perceived by the developed world. The animals in this important sector have remained largely uncharacterised and face the risk of genetic dilution due to indiscriminate crossbreeding, breed replacement and neglect. This article uses two examples to describe a system that has been implemented in South Africa that allows indigenous livestock from rural keepers to enter the seed stock industry as recognized breeds. The first example is the indigenous Nguni breed of cattle that has been successfully developed into a seed stock breed, with a society celebrating its 25th anniversary in November 2011. The second example involves the challenges of developing a seed stock industry for some of the unimproved indigenous goat breeds of South Africa. Climate change is expected to have a more extreme effect on southern hemisphere continents than on other continents. Such negative effects will include high ambient temperatures, nutritional stress and altered patterns of animal diseases. With the likelihood of global warming, these adapted genotypes can play a very important role in sustainable livestock production.

Sustainability Aspects of the Wheat Sector

In the frame of the present study, we examined the wheat sector with respect to economic and social sustainability. Accordingly, two research questions were formulated： （1） Is wheat production sustainable in economic terms？ and （2） Is wheat production sustainable in social terms？ Our view is that the content of sustainability can be defined on a case-by-case basis, and in our case, wheat production provides this content. To answer the research questions, we collected statistical data on the production area, average yield, production volume, selling price, consumption of wheat, and evaluated the tendencies prevalent in the sector. We suppose that in social terms, sustainability means maintaining consumption at least at a constant level, knowing that this sector produces considerable share of the direct and indirect food raw materials. A chief dilemma is that world population is continuously growing, although the size of the cultivated area in the wheat sector has not indicated significant changes over the past few decades. Unless increasing the yields, severe decrease may occur in the per capita production of wheat in the long run. In this case, the current consumption level will not be sustainable in the medium run. In addition, in the long run, it may even have influence on the consumption level of other commodities.

Research on Low Carbon and Reduction Emission for Transportation Industry in China

The low carbon of sustainable development of ecological economy is sweeping across the world. The logistic industry plays a key role in the economic development, which influences emission and impact of the theory of low carbon. This paper analyzes the energy consumption and carbon emission in different modes in transportation, and provides reasonable suggestions on low carbon and reduction emission for transportation industry in China.

Interoperable Process： Efficient Systems in New Constructive and Product Performances

In the construction sector, which is one of the major goals of the new economy, the company is aiming at a new constructive practice and upgrading of the built, using ICT （information and communications technology） technologies. So the focus is on new operating and organizational models of sustainable building processes in the architecture, engineering and construction sectors, which are based on three-dimensional models of digital technology BIM （building information modeling）. It is intended as a human activity that improves building workflows and, through software and IFACs （industry foundation classes）, manages flexibility, coordinates and optimizes operational choices on time, economic, and environmental sustainability parameters. The goal is a new interoperable building process that involves designers, contractors and businesses from programming to lifecycle building and maintenance through the integrated project delivery of the building. Dynamic architectures, interactive with efficient technological and constructive systems, are integrated with innovative products of complex nature and bi-directional performance, engineered, with energy storage and renewable resources. The methodologies are based, above all, on the adoption of BIM technologies with the digital project manager and the use of robotic technological tools. Digitization is applied for the design and construction of architectural and infrastructure artifacts, in interaction with intelligent, adaptive, nanotechnical and user-friendly materials and climate. The results are aimed at efficient buildings with user comfort and safety, accuracy, and risk monitoring with remote monitoring, highlighting VDC （visual design construction） in CID （computational intelligent design）.
