Aim Using animals as object of experiment to acquire various patterns of low cerebral blood pressure and reduced blood capacity in cerebral tissues of astronauts due to the load of acceleration. Methods The isotope tracking technique was applied to mark the blood and record the dynamic curves of cerebral blood flow changes under various accelerations, and the relevant mathematical model was set up using the method of system recognition. Also the method of factor analyzing was used to select two out of the data collected by eight sensors as two factors. Results One of the two factors reflects the various patterns in the astronaut's upper body, the other for the lower body. Parameters of rise time, delay time and steady value reflect the results under different acceleration. Conclusion Whether for the upper body or the lower body, blood flow changes can be considered as a second order system model. This method provides a new technique and method of doing research on astronaut's endurance of acceleration and selecting astronauts. 展开更多

When shovels load the dump trucks with over 100-ton passes under gravity dumping conditions, they will create a large impact force on the dump truck body which generates high frequency shock waves which expose the operators to whole body vibrations (WBV). The main cause of such truck vibrations is the large impact force due to the gravity dumping of large tonnage passes. Therefore a rigorous mathematical model has been developed for the impact force containing all the necessary factors upon which it depends. Latter, a thorough analysis shows that percentage reduction of 7.19%, 9.40%, 13.27%, 14.8%, 17.30% and 18.13% can he achieved by reducing the dumping distance to 6.33 m, 6.0 m, 5.5 m, 5.33 m, 5.0 m and 4.9 m, respectively, as compared to when the dumping distance was 7.33 m. Even more reduction in the magnitude of impact force can he observed if the shovel pass gets divided into more than two sub-passes. Therefore, these models can he used to figure out the number of sub-passes into which a single ore pass can he divided and/or the extent to which the dumping distance can he reduced which would reduce the impact force significantly enough to obtain safer yet economic operations. 展开更多

Some researchers, running instructors, and coaches have suggested that the "optimal" footstrike pattern to improve performance and reduce running injuries is to land using a mid-or forefoot strike. Thus, it has been recommended that runners who use a rearfoot strike would benefit by changing their footstrike although there is little scientific evidence for suggesting such a change. The rearfoot strike is clearly more prevalent. The major reasons often given for changing to a mid-or forefoot strike are(1) it is more economical;(2) there is a reduction in the impact peak and loading rate of the vertical component of the ground reaction force; and(3) there is a reduction in the risk of a running-related injuries. In this paper,we critique these 3 suggestions and provide alternate explanations that may provide contradictory evidence for altering one's footstrike pattern. We have concluded, based on examining the research literature, that changing to a mid-or forefoot strike does not improve running economy, does not eliminate an impact at the foot-ground contact, and does not reduce the risk of running-related injuries. 展开更多

Objectives:To share a concept analysis of social movement aimed at advancing its application to evidence uptake and sustainability in health-care.Methods:We applied Walker and Avant method to clarify the concept of social movement in the context of knowledge uptake and sustainability.Peer-reviewed and grey literature databases were systematically searched for relevant reports that described how social movement action led to evidence-based practice changes in health and community settings.Titles, abstracts and full texts were reviewed independently and in duplicate, resulting in 38 included articles. Results:Social movement action for knowledge uptake and sustainability can be defined as individuals, groups,or organizations that,as voluntary and intrinsically motivated change agents, mobilize around a common cause to improve outcomes through knowledge uptake and sustainability. The 10 defining attributes, three antecedents and three consequences that we identified are dynamic and interrelated, often mutually reinforcing each other to fortify various aspects of the social movement.Examples of defining attributes include an urgent need for action, collective action and collective identity. The concept analysis resulted in the development of the Social Movement Action Framework. Conclusions:Social movement action can provide a lens through which we view implementation science.Collective action and collective identity e concepts less frequently canvassed in implementation science literature e can lend insight into grassroots approaches to uptake and sustainability.Findings can also inform providers and change leaders on the practicalities of harnessing social movement action for realworld change initiatives.By mobilizing individuals, groups,or organizations through social movement approaches, they can engage as powered change agents and teams that impact the individual, organizational and health systems levels to facilitate knowledge uptake and sustainability. 展开更多

In this study, the author investigated insights of 15 college students majored in English as they explored their own use of annotation strategy and how they applied this strategy in effective reading process. As an action research, the report is an attempt to explore the role played by annotation in reading comprehension in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. By means of learner diaries, the researcher found that annotation, as an efficient writing-to-learn strategy, is able to help EFL learners to research a deeper level of engagement and to encourage active reading. The findings also suggest that reading strategy training can be integrated with reading tasks in the EFL classrooms. 展开更多
