The government makes efforts in promoting the modem apprenticeship and this is met with active response of the higher vocational institutions. However, in the practical situation of the higher vocational institutions, the implementation of modem apprenticeship is still faced with lots of problems. It is the author's opinion that the government and higher vocational institutions should overall integrate the planning for scientific and systematic designing of the implementation of modem apprenticeship to create an integrated environment for the enterprises to actively participate in the higher vocational education. The institutions and enterprises should join hands in the management of higher vocational education, strengthen the pilot institutionsand promote the apprenticeship to solve the problems in the implementation and enhance the development of the higher vocational education of China. 展开更多

The factors affecting quality in the construction industry should be assessed. This paper aims to introduce a new model to assess these factors. The model is namely Fuzzy Assessment Model for Quality (FAMQ). Fuzzy set theory provides a useful way to deal with ill-defined and complex problems in a decision-making environment that incorporates vagueness. The proposed model employs the combined effect of both; the factors probability of occurrence and their impacts on the quality of construction. Twenty five logical rules for each factor were implemented in the model. The model was evaluated using data that collected from the infrastructure projects in Egypt. It was applied to many factors that affect the quality of this kind of projects as a case study. The results of the study proved that the proposed model can be used successfully in the assessment of factors affecting quality in the construction industry. In addition, the results provided a platform of useful assessment reference to those infrastructure's finns, who plan to establish their businesses in Egypt. 展开更多

In classical Markowitz's Mean-Variance model, parameters such as the mean and covari- ance of the underlying assets' future return are assumed to be known exactly. However, this is not always the case. The parameters often correspond to quantities that fall within a range, or can be known ambiguously at the time when investment decision must be made. In such situations, investors determine returns on investment and risks etc. and make portfolio decisions based on experience and economic wisdom. This paper tries to use the concept of interval numbers in the fuzzy set theory to extend the classical mean-variance portfolio selection model to a mean-downside semi-variance model with consideration of liquidity requirements of a bank. The semi-variance constraint is employed to control the downside risk, filling in the existing interval portfolio optimization model based on the linear semi-absolute deviation to depict the downside risk. Simulation results show that the model behaves robustly for risky assets with highest or lowest mean historical rate of return and the optimal investment proportions have good stability. This suggests that for these kinds of assets the model can reduce the risk of high deviation caused by the deviation in the decision maker's experience and economic wisdom. 展开更多

We present in this paper a numerical algorithm that couples the atomistic and continuum models for the thermal-mechanical coupled problem of polycrystalline aggregates.The key point is that the conservation laws should be satisfied for both the atomistic and continuum models at the microscale.Compared with the traditional methods which construct the constitutive equations of the grain interiors and grain boundaries by continuum mechanics,our model calculates the continuum fluxes through molecular dynamics simulations,provided that the atomistic simulations are consistent with the local microstate of the system.For the grain interiors without defects,central schemes are available for solving the conservation laws and the constitutive parameters can be obtained via molecular dynamics simulations.For the grain boundary structures,the front tracking method is employed because the solutions of the conservation equations are discontinuous near the defects.Firstly,appropriate control volumes are chosen at both sides of the interface,then the finite volume method is applied to solve the continuum equations in each control volume.Fluxes near both sides of the interface are calculated via atomistic simulations.Therefore,all thermo-mechanical information can be obtained. 展开更多

We combine the Fermi and Moran update rules in the spatial prisoner's dilemma and snowdrift games to investigate the behavior of collective cooperation among agents on the regular lattice. Large-scale simulations indicate that, compared to the model with only one update rule, the the role of update dynamics should be paid more attention in cooperation behavior exhibits the richer phenomena, and the evolutionary game theory. Meanwhile, we also observe that the introduction of Moran rule, which needs to consider all neighbor's information, can markedly promote the aggregate cooperation level, that is, randomly selecting the neighbor proportional to its payoff to imitate will facilitate the cooperation among agents. Current results will contribute to further understand the cooperation dynamics and evolutionary behaviors within many biological, economic and social systems. 展开更多

These three compounds are featured with the sandwich-like units constructed by two tail-to-tail calixarene molecules and an in-between Lnm6 octahedron. A new association state of solutes in nanoconfined aqueous solutions

Recently, we have found a reversible transition between the dispersion and aggregation states of solute molecules in aqueous solutions confined in nanoscale geometry, where solutes exhibit distinct behavior in a new association state from that in the dispersion and aggregation states observed usually in macroscopic systems. However, it remains unknown whether this new association state of solute molecules found in nanoconfined systems would vanish with the system size increasing and approaching the macroscopic scale. Here, we achieve the phase diagram of solute association states by making the analyses of Gibbs free energy of solutes in nanoconfined aqueous solutions in detail. In the phase diagram, we observe a closed regime with a finite system size of nanoconfined aqueous solutions and a solute concentration range, only in which there exists the new association state of solutes with the reversible transition between the aggregation and dispersion states, and there indeed exists an upper limit of the system size for the new association state, around several tens nanometers. These findings regarding the intimate connection between the system size and the solute association behavior provides the comprehensive understanding of the association dynamics of solutes in nanoconfined environment. 展开更多
