HSP70 antisense expression vector driven by the promoter Osg6B was confired by colony PCR and enzyme digestion. Her awakening process is accompanied by the symbolic image of ＂bird＂, representing women＇s situation in the patriarchal society and carrying Edna＇s hope for freedom, love, and self-realization. Mrs. Morel has long been regarded by feminist critics as the destroyed, a victim destroyed by the male-dominated society, and her son Paul has been viewed as a destroyer of women. Based on a close reading of the novel, this paper examines Lawrence＇s characterization of Mrs. Morel and reveals that Mrs Morel actually belongs to the destroyer instead of the destroyed through an analysis of her relationship with the three male characters in the novel, thus providing new insights into the understanding of this classic novel.展开更多

To evaluate the possibility and efficiency of nanoparticle as a new vector in specific gene transference.Methods. Nanoparticle-DNA complex was prepared with Poly- dl-lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) bearing anti-sense monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (A-MCP-l), a specific expression gene, and the package efficiency, release progress in vitro, and the size of the complex were determined. The possibility of the new vector was evaluated with genomic DNA PCR by transferring gene into cultured smooth muscle cells (SMC), cationic lipids as a control. For study in vivo, jugular vein-to-artery bypass grafting procedures were performed on 20 New Zealand white rabbits, of which 6 grafts were transferred with nanoparticle-A-MCP-1 (200 μg), 6 with A - MCP-1 (200 μ g) by cationic liposome, 4 with LNCX plasmid, and 4 as control. Fourteen days after the grafts were harvested, the expression of A-MCP-l and its effect on MCP-1 in vein grafts were detected by dot blot, and the morphologic evaluation of grafts was performed.Results. The package efficiency of the nanoparticle-DNA complex was 0. 9% , release progress in vitro lasted 2 weeks, and the size ranged from 150 to 300nm. SMC genomic DNA PCR showed that A-MCP-l gene could be successfully transfected into cells by nanoparticle. The study in vivo indicated that A-MCP-l mRNA was expressed in both local gene delivery groups, nanoparticle and liposome, meanwhile, MCP-1 expression in vein grafts was significantly inhibited and neointimal hyperplasia was notably reduced.Conclusion. Objective:The aim of our study was to explore the correlations between both the genes,evolution and prognosis of the disease by detecting the expression of MN1(meningioma 1) gene and PTEN(phosphatase and tensin homolo...Objective:The aim of our study was to explore the correlations between both the genes,evolution and prognosis of the disease by detecting the expression of MN1(meningioma 1) gene and PTEN(phosphatase and tensin homolog) gene in patients with acute myeloid leukemia(AML).Method:MN1 and PTEN mRNA were detected by reverse transcription-PCR in mononuclear cells of 38 patients with AML and 13 patients with normal bone marrow.Results:Positive rates of MN1 and PTEN genes were 76.3% and 60.5% respectively in bone marrow mononuclear cells.The expression level of MN1 mRNA for the de novo group increased comparing with that for normal control group(P < 0.05),the expression level of PTEN mRNA for de novo group decreased obviously comparing with that for normal control group(P < 0.01),MN1 mRNA level decreased in remission group,while PTEN mRNA level increased comparing with that in de novo group(P < 0.05).MN1 mRNA level increased and PTEN mRNA decreased in relapsed group comparing with that in control group,and their difference was statistical significance(P < 0.05).The two genes' levels had negative correlations in acute myeloid leukemia(r =-0.314,P < 0.05).Conclusion:There is close correlations between expression of MN1 and PTEN genes and the prognosis and occurrence of acute myeloid leukemia,and their expression can be taken as significant indexes to access the de novo,relapse and prognosis of acute myeloid leukemia.展开更多

The fear of the unknown, uncertainties of the forest, river, mountain, seas, oceans, lightening, thunder, and the changing weather, brings her artists in constant contact with their spirituality. Over time, these artists have demonstrated their inherent ability to perceive, through their various art practices, the unseen, speak the unspoken, revere and share in the silent salient world of their ancestors, as well as preserve it for posterity. This paper presents an insight into the Igbo cultural society with reference to her indigenous and contemporary art practices. It identifies the trajectories of her art and cultural developments toward contemporary and global acceptance, and in addition attempts to identify her visual creative frontiers.展开更多
