The surface quality of the substrate is a crucial factor in building "clean" quantum-dimensional systems. There are a number of micro-nano metric methods for the analysis state of surface: the atomic force microscopy, the scanning tunneling microscopy and others. The SE (surface electron) over substrate has a "soft" hydrogen-like spectrum in the normal direction and the SEs mobility along is sensitive to the inhomogeneities of the substrate and this is analyzed in work. The values of electron mobility and energy of thermal activation are basic parameters of transport process which essentially depend on the helium film thickness. For analysis of nano-size inhomogeneities of substrate here we apply a new method providing a uniformity of the film thickness on substrate and fixing of measuring cell with supply wires. The plunger with electro-mechanic driver into a hermetic chamber is used for variation the helium level and consequently the film thickness. Considering values the conductivity and the variation of potential along surface is estimated the effective size of roughness from several nanometers (for non-saturated helium film) to 10^2 nm (for saturated film). 展开更多

The soot surface growth plays significant role on the soot mass accumulation, which starts with H(hydrogen)atom abstraction forming activated soot surface sites, and is followed by the acetylene addition process. In this study, the effect of the mixture inhomogeneity and combustion temperature on the soot surface activity and soot formation was investigated by developing a new multi-step phenomenological(MSP)soot model of diesel engines.A new detailed soot surface growth mechanism was proposed by correlation analysis of combustion parameters with soot formation. The inhomogeneity coefficient of soot surface activityαCH and the specific rate of soot surface growth R CH were derived to highlight the effect of inhomogeneity of mixture and combustion temperature on soot formation. The predicted diesel engine-out soot agreed well with experimental findings in wide ranges of combustion conditions. In the case of lower engine load with single fuel injection and higher EGR(exhaust gas recirculation)rate,it had quiet homogeneous mixtures before ignition when the combustion temperature dominated the soot surface activity. At medium engine load with multi-pulse fuel injections,it got mixture slightly stratified before ignition and revealed that the mixture inhomogeneity became more dominated on soot surface activity than the combustion temperature. An increased soot surface activity led to increased soot emission.Under the full engine loads with single fuel injection but quite high boost pressure over 0.4 MPa,it led to the combustion conditions of higher mixture density and higher mixture heat capacity, which benefits the mixture homogeneity. The decay rate of soot surface activity became lower due to the decreased combustion temperature and the soot surface activity decreased due to improved mixture homogeneity. In addition, the lowered intake oxygen concentration due to usage of EGR played a role to lower the specific rate of soot surface growth R CH,but to increase the soot surface activityαCH. 展开更多

An iterative strategy combining Kirchhoff approximation (KA) method is presented in this paper to study the interactions between KA is applied to study scattering from underlying rough surfaces with the hybrid finite element-boundary integral (FE-BI) the inhomogeneous object and the underlying rough surface. whereas FE-BI deals with scattering from the above target. Both two methods use updated excitation sources. Huygens equivalence principle and an iterative strategy are employed to consider the multi-scattering effects. This hybrid FE-BI-KA scheme is an improved and generalized version of previous hybrid Kirchhoff approximation-method of moments (KA-MoM). This newly presented hybrid method has the following advantages: (1) the feasibility of modeling multi-scale scattering problems (large scale underlying surface and small scale target); (2) low memory requirement as in hybrid KA-MoM; (3) the ability to deal with scattering from inhomogeneous (including coated or layered) scatterers above rough surfaces. The numerical results are given to evaluate the accuracy of the multi-hybrid technique; the computing time and memory requirements consumed in specific numerical simulation of FE-BI-KA are compared with those of MoM. The convergence performance is analyzed by studying the iteration number variation caused by related parameters. Then bistatic scattering from inhomogeneous object of different configurations above dielectric Gaussian rough surface is calculated and the influences of dielectric compositions and surface roughness on the scattering pattern are discussed. 展开更多
