A self-organizing radial basis function(RBF) neural network(SODM-RBFNN) was presented for predicting the production yields and operating optimization. Gradient descent algorithm was used to optimize the widths of RBF ...A self-organizing radial basis function(RBF) neural network(SODM-RBFNN) was presented for predicting the production yields and operating optimization. Gradient descent algorithm was used to optimize the widths of RBF neural network with the initial parameters obtained by k-means learning method. During the iteration procedure of the algorithm, the centers of the neural network were optimized by using the gradient method with these optimized width values. The computational efficiency was maintained by using the multi-threading technique. SODM-RBFNN consists of two RBF neural network models: one is a running model used to predict the product yields of fluid catalytic cracking unit(FCCU) and optimize its operating parameters; the other is a learning model applied to construct or correct a RBF neural network. The running model can be updated by the learning model according to an accuracy criterion. The simulation results of a five-lump kinetic model exhibit its accuracy and generalization capabilities, and practical application in FCCU illustrates its effectiveness.展开更多

If the gear drive runs under lower torque load, nonlinear effects like gear mesh interruption can occur and vibration is accompanied by impact motions of the gears, This paper presents an original method of the mathematical modelling of gear drive nonlinear vibrations by using the modal synthesis method with degrees of freedom number reduction. The model respects nonlinearities caused by gear mesh interruption, parametric gearing excitation caused by time-varying meshing stiffness and nonlinear contact forces acting between journals of the rolling-element bearings and the outer housing. The nonlinear model is then used for investigation of gear drive vibration, especially for constant gear mesh determination. The theoretical method is applied for investigating of test gear drive nonlinear vibration.展开更多

Considering the sequential distribution of harmonic currents, zero-sequence components could be dimin...This paper reveals new contributions to the analysis and development of devices for harmonic distortion mitigation. Considering the sequential distribution of harmonic currents, zero-sequence components could be diminished using electromagnetic devices, particularly the eZSB (electromagnetic zero-sequence blocking). One important characteristic of this device, which has received particular attention on this research, is its robustness and low cost of construction. Theoretical and experimental results related to the behavior of the electromagnetic blocking devices are presented. The results illustrate the consistence of the theoretical aspects related with the model in the frequency domain, as well as the performance of the blocking devices, reducing zero-sequence harmonic currents, mainly by the conjunct action of the eZSF (electromagnetic zero-sequence harmonic filter), working as a impedance coupler. In this context, aiming the evaluation of the reliability of the results obtained through mathematical modeling, experimental tests have been carried out using a low-power prototype, highlighting particular aspects related to its function as a zero-sequence harmonic blocker.展开更多
