Then, the mineral sources and their characteristics were discussed based on the classical lead isotope discriminating model. The results show that the lead isotope ratios of206Pb/204Pb,207Pb/204Pb, and208Pb/204Pb range from 17.478 to 18.638, 15.440 to 15.858, and 37.556 to 39.501, respectively. According to Zartman lead model, the ore lead contains the upper crust composition; however, the granite does not provide all ore leads, and other material sources exist. Obviously, the ore deposit belongs to the result of the combined effect of crust?mantle. The source rocks are characterized by a certain degree of similarity with the island arc material. Moreover, its distant origin in the upper and lower crusts may be related to the subduction island arc material or oceanic crust. The mantle-derived material may have a certain status in the source region. Meanwhile, based on the lead isotope three-dimensional topology projection vectors, the ore leads are concentrated in zoneA, which indicates the characteristics of Yangtze lead isotope province and a possible genetic relationship with Yangtze block.展开更多

Correspondingly, anticancer drugs used in Western medicine can be classified into 4 groups as follows:cytotoxic drugs, biological response modifiers, chemosensitizers and chemoprotectants. Based on the theory of Chinese medicinal formulas, prescriptions are composed of four constituents, namely, primary constituent (main component of the formula prescription),minister constituent (second component of formula prescription),adjuvant constituent (adjuvant component of the formula prescription) and messenger constituent (component making the formula prescription targeting pathological tissues). To control the interaction among drugs and to modulate the interaction among the tumor, patient and drugs,we suggest that combined therapy for Western medicine might include 4 constituents,i.e.,primary,cooperative,adjuvant and modulatory constituent. Cytotoxic drugs frequently are used as primary and cooperative constituents, whereas biological response modifiers and biochemical modulators are usually regarded respectively as adjuvant drugs and modulatory constituents. We believe these new concepts may be helpful for the aim of appropriately designing, evaluating or providing combination therapy.展开更多

The mineral assemblage zoning is consistent for both horizontal and vertical zoning, from the base(center) of the ore body to the top(outermost), the mineral zones are as follows. I-1: coarse-grained pyrite and a little puce sphalerite;I-2: brown sphalerite, galena, and ferro-dolomite;I-3: galena, sandy beige and pale yellow sphalerite, and calcite;and I-4: fine-grained pyrite, dolomite, and calcite. Among them, sphalerite is the landmark mineral of different zoning. From I-1 to I-3, the color of sphalerite changes from dark to light, its crystalline size changes from coarse to fine, and its structure changes from disseminated to veinlet. This mineral zoning is seen not only on a microscopic scale, but is also clear on a mesoscopic and macroscopic scale. It is caused by the order of the sphalerite and galena precipitation. We studied the metallic minerals and fluid inclusions using a thermodynamic phase diagram method, such as lgfO2–lgfS2, pH–lgfO2, pH–lg[Pb^2+] and pH–lg[HS^-], discussed the constraints on the order of the sphalerite and galena precipitation in the migration and precipitation process of lead and zinc under different pH values, oxygen fugacity, sulfur fugacity, and ionic activity. We also explain the formation mechanism and propose that the main controlling factor of the order of the sphalerite and galena precipitation is sulfur fugacity.展开更多

Non-human leukocyte antigen (HLA) genetic factors in CD predisposition are poorly understood, and environmental factors like infectious pathogens may play a role. CD209 is a dendritic and macrophage surface molecule involved in pathogen recognition and immune activation. Recently, a functional variant in the promoter of the CD209 gene (-336A/G) has been shown to affect the transcriptional CD209 activity in vitro and it has been associated with a higher susceptibility to/or severity of infection. METHODS: The study population was composed of two case-control cohorts of 103 and 386 CD patients and 312 y 419 healthy controls as well as a panel of 257 celiac families. Genotyping for the -336A/G CD209 promoter polymorphism was performed using a TaqMan 5' allelic discrimination assay. HLA-DQ was determined by hybridization with allele specific probes. RESULTS: Initially, the case-control and familial studies did not find any association of the -336 A/G CD209 genetic variant with CD susceptibility. However, the stratification by HLA-DQ2 did reveal a significant association of CD209 promoter polymorphism in the HLA-DQ2 (-) group (carrier A vs GG in DQ2 (-) vs DQ2 (+) patients (P = 0.026, OR = 3.71). CONCLUSION: The -336G CD209 allele seems to be involved in CD susceptibility in HLA-DQ2 (-) patients. Our results might suggest a possible role of pathogens in the onset of a minor group of CD patients.展开更多

The objective of the study was to analyze the biodemographic data, clinical profile and antithrombotic treatment according to dependency, fragility and cognitive impairment in elderly AF patients. Methods Cross- sectional and multi-center study performed in consecutive AF patients ≥ 75 years treated with oral anticoagulants ≥ 3 months attended in Internal Medicine Departments in Spain. Results A total of 837 patients (83.0 ± 5.0 years; CHA2DS2-VASc: 5.0 ± 1.4; HAS-BLED: 2.1 ± 0.9) were included. 44.4% of patients had some degree of dependency, 43.3% were fragile, and 32.3% had cognitive impairment. Patients with any of these conditions were older, had a worse clinical profile, with more comorbidities and higher risks of thromboembolic and bleeding events. All these conditions were independently associated among them. Overall, 70.8% of patients were taking vitamin K antagonists, the remaining 29.2% direct oral anticoagulants and 9.7% oral antiplatelets. This distribution was independent of the presence of dependency or fragility, but there was a trend to a higher prescription of vitamin K antagonists in those patients with cognitive impairment (75.2% vs. 68.8%; P = 0.05). Conclusions Approximately 32%-44% of elderly anticoagulated AF patients attended have some degree of dependency, fragility and/or cognitive impairment. Patients with any of these conditions are older and have a worse clinical profile. Ap?proximately 71% of patients are taking vitamin K antagonists, regardless dependency or frailty, but with a trend to higher prescription in patients with cognitive impairment.展开更多

Methods: Fifty patients with advanced NSCLC (stages III to IV), who had received therapies in our Center (Department of Biotherapy, Affiliated to Cancer Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, Taiyuan, China) from August 2008 to January 2010, were treated by DC-CIK + chemotherapy as the combined treatment group; fifty advanced NSCLC patients treated with chemotherapy at the same time served as controls. The immunologic function, short-term therapeutic effects, the 1-year survival rate, the life quality, the chemotherapy side effects were compared between the two groups, the safety and therapeutic effects of DC-CIK cells therapy were observed too. Results: There was no obvious change of subsets of T cells in peripheral blood before and after therapy in DC-CIK + chemotherapy group, and IFN-γ was improved after therapy in this group (P < 0.05); in chemotherapy alone group, the ratios of CD3+CD4+, CD3+CD8+, CD3-CD56+ cells and the secretion of IL-2, TNF-α decreased significantly after therapy (P < 0.05); the ratios of CD3+CD8+, CD3+CD56+ were improved after cell culture (P < 0.05). The disease control rate (DCR) of DC-CIK + chemotherapy group was higher than that in the chemotherapy alone group (78.0% vs 56.0%, P < 0.05); the 1-year survival rates of DC-CIK + chemotherapy group and chemotherapy alone group were 50% and 44% respectively, had no significant difference. Compared with chemotherapy alone group, the occurrence of chemotherapy side effects (including bone marrow suppression, nausea and vomiting, peripheral nerve toxicity) was less in the DC-CIK + chemotherapy group (P < 0.05). The physical and appetite were better in DC-CIK + chemotherapy group after therapy. Conclusion: To compare with simple chemotherapy, DC-CIK + chemotherapy for advanced NSCLC is safe and effective, and it can improve patients' life quality and remission rate, and prolong their survival time.展开更多

Three distinct fluid inclusion types have been identified in the gold-bearing quartz sulphide veins of the deposit: (1) type I: vapour-liquid two-phase (VH2O-LH2O ), (2) type II : three-phase CO2 ( VCO2 - LH2O - LCO2 ) and (3) type III: vapour-rich (LCO2 - VCO2 ) inclusions. Six analysis of individual fluid inclusion indicate the fluid inclusions comprise mainly of H2O and CO2. Forma- tion P-T conditions recorded by fluid inclusions in quartz crystals correspond to 180℃-380℃ and up to 130 MPa, as indicated by high-density CO2 bubbles (up to 0. 98 g/cm3 ) observed in some inclusions. The esti- mated crystallization pressures correspond to approximately 4-10 km of overburden, assuming a lithostatic load. The salinity ranges from 0 to 22 wt%. The deposit holds at 0.2-5 g/t Au and contains low-moderate salinity.展开更多
