After the Cold War ended, former traditional security threats withered while non-traditional ones sprouted. More recently as both traditional and non-traditional security threats bloom, concern spreads over whether international security governance can be effective. Worse still, major Western countries' zeal for global governance has cooled, while they turn from being advocates of global governance to obstacles, making the future dimmer. 展开更多

As YU Xu-ying said, it not only embodies the concept of technology, also reflects the fixed concept of social culture. Viewing from the cultural point, this paper analyses the applying status quo of management accounting in China. Its main viewpoints are as follows: management accounting is originated from the West, and its appearance is built on the basis of the West thought of management, so, to a certain degree, it is influenced by the West culture. In fact, its application in China is in a new cultural circumstance so that it is certainly influenced by the Chinese culture, especially the Chinese traditional culture; thus one of the important reasons for the undesirable application of management accounting in China is the difference between the East culture and the West culture. Therefore, the special cultural factor of China should be considered in order to promote what is beneficial and to abolish what is harmful if management accounting is widely applied in China. 展开更多

The same issue also appears in the Islamic theological works known "kalam". There are two main semantical approaches regarding the theological doctrines in the Islamic thought. However the theological reasons are the primary aims in these semantical works, but they include serious philosophical and linguistic content. One of them is the main Islamic strand (orthodox Islam) represented by some astonishing Islamic scholars such as Ici, Guwaini, Sahristani, Ghazali, and Razi. According to this tradition, meaning is an inner state and a state of mind which is specified by the intent of the interlocutor or the author. The utterances have only an instrumentel role in speech. This approach can also be compared to the primary semantic view ranging from Aristotele to P. Grice---with some variations in the Western philosophical tradition. The second thesis is argued by the Mu'tazili sect who are called Islamic rationalists that objected to Ahl us-Sunnah in their prominent ideas. From Mu'tazila's point of view meaning should only be looked for among linguistic facts. There is no intentional content in the mind before the utterances. Meaning is produced within the structure of language itself and the conventional social context. In other words, meaning is nothing but the usage of the language, These two approaches also mean that there is going to arise different forms of interpretation in the theological perception. The aforementioned approach carries similarities with the approaches of Western thinkers like Wittgenstein and his followers. In this paper, the author deal with these two theological approaches by focusing on their linguistic and semantic views and comparing them with some modem western theories. 展开更多

China is a world's ancient civilization with a long history of five thousand years; meanwhile, it is also the headstream of sports culture. Chinese sports aim at building the body and self-cultivation. The movement structures of sports are mainly the simulation of all kinds of movement of animals, which are particular about static and dynamic equilibrium, firmness, and gentleness, getting refined internally and externally. The feature of Chinese sports is the unification of form and spirit. The pattern of Chinese sports is closely related with Chinese philosophy thought, and the constructed Chinese sports culture has become the essential part of Chinese traditional philosophy. Chinese sports have integrated fitness and aesthetic appreciation into one, which is the specific expression of Chinese traditional thought. However, western sports have integrated with western philosophy thought with strong athletic tint. The characteristic of western sports has a necessary connection with the ancient Greek thought. Ancient Greeks had realized that the relationship between human and the nature was not totally dependent with contrariety, so they thought only fighting with the nature could they survive. The origins of thought of Chinese and western sports cultures decide the differences between Chinese and western sports. The harmony of China and competition of the west can be both embodied in sports. This thesis will analyze the differences between Chinese and western sports philosophy. 展开更多

As the outcome of the encounter of Chinese and Western cultures and modes of thinking, Mao Zedong's dialectics contains considerable elements of traditional Chinese dialectics. Mao advocated differentiation between principal and secondary contradictions and between the principal and secondary aspects of a contradiction; but more importantly, he also emphasized that each can transform into its opposite under certain conditions and attached considerable importance to the "quintessence" of a contradiction, ideas which are alien to traditional Western dialectics. This makes Mao's dialectics distinctive, so that it constitutes a model of the integration (not without tension) of Chinese and Western patterns of thinking. A deeper understanding of this model will be of great benefit to the revival and development of contemporary Chinese philosophy. 展开更多

The socio-historical analysis of "Chinese Modernity" and "Chinese Cultural Identity" within the context of social transformation, by restoring the origin of modernity as a "historical event" since late Qing, leads to the finding that "the Deng Zheng-lai Problem" pinpoints the current crisis of cultural identity and the loss of Orthodoxy(daotong) which infects contemporary China. It is necessary to build and shape the mode of cultural identity in response to the pressure of rightness, creating "the identity of hybridity" by negotiating the classic tradition with the socialist tradition and a partial western tradition. By observing "the Deng- Hui frameworks" (the frameworks formulated by Deng Zheng-lai, Wang Hui, Deng Xiao-mang and Qin Hui), we should neither blindly return to the classic tradition nor uncritically resort to the Western resources in our attempt at rebuilding cultural identity; instead, one mode of a "New Civilization" might arise in the sense of what Liang Qi-chao regards as cutting across both China and the West. 展开更多

As their attempt to assert the strength and uniqueness of traditional Chinese culture in comparison with Western culture, to transform Confucianism by creatively responding to and reinterpreting Western religious concepts from Confucian perspective, as well as to contribute to inter-religious dialogue, contemporary New Confucians 新儒家 have asserted the transcendence, religiousness and moral metaphysics of Confucianism. The New Confucians have also perceived the spiritual problems of modern people and suggested to deal with them by linking humans with the transcendent Heaven. In this article, I will analyse and evaluate the New Confucians' arguments on Confucian "immanent transcendence" 内在超越. I will argue that they are the bases of the New Confucians' arguments on the religiousness of Confucianism, as well as their perception of Confucianism as a moral metaphysics and the solution to the problems of modernity. 展开更多

Western Marxism has developed a broad semantic space and a variety of possible approaches for renewing our understanding of Marxist philosophy; however, its essential failing of separation from political practice and its internal tension and conflict should attract more attention. The sinicization of Marxist philosophy is not a simple change of categories or using traditional Chinese philosophy to "convert" Marxist philosophy, but the combination of Marxist philosophy and Chinese reality in a process integrating Marxist philosophy and traditional Chinese philosophy so that Marxist philosophy "acquires a national form." The construction of Marxist studies in China can never overlook the "re- interpretation" of any text by practice; all "reconstruction" of the philosophical system is fundamentally inspired by the activities of practice. 展开更多
