本文将石刻史料中萨保任官的资料与北朝末年的官品制度以及其他部族首领的任官情况加以对比, 分别对北周、北齐的萨保品位进行了考察, 提出此一时期的萨保品位大致相当于县级长官。此外, 本文还从官品变迁、萨保继承、人员任命等角度, 揭示了中原政权利用官僚品级秩序增强粟特贵族的社会流动性, 并进而统合粟特聚落社会资源的历史进程。

Application of Computer Vision Technique to Maize Variety Identification

Variety identification is important for maize breeding, processing and trade. The computer vision technique has been widely applied to maize variety identification. In this paper, computer vision technique has been summarized from the following technical aspects including image acquisition, image processing, characteristic parameter extraction, pattern recognition and programming softwares. In addition, the existing problems during the application of this technique to maize variety identification have also been analyzed and its development tendency is forecasted.

Exploring the Sample Quality Using Rough Sets Theory for the Supervised Classification of Remotely Sensed Imagery

In the supervised classification process of remotely sensed imagery, the quantity of samples is one of the important factors affecting the accuracy of the image classification as well as the keys used to evaluate the image classification. In general, the samples are acquired on the basis of prior knowledge, experience and higher resolution images. With the same size of samples and the same sampling model, several sets of training sample data can be obtained. In such sets, which set reflects perfect spectral characteristics and ensure the accuracy of the classification can be known only after the accuracy of the classification has been assessed. So, before classification, it would be a meaningful research to measure and assess the quality of samples for guiding and optimizing the consequent classification process. Then, based on the rough set, a new measuring index for the sample quality is proposed. The experiment data is the Landsat TM imagery of the Chinese Yellow River Delta on August 8th, 1999. The experiment compares the Bhattacharrya distance matrices and purity index zl and △x based on rough set theory of 5 sample data and also analyzes its effect on sample quality.

Chinese and foreign film and TV drama translation from the perspective of cross cultural communication

. Chinese and foreign film and cultural exchanges, the translation is necessary to ensure the realization of information across language barriers to effective communication. Particularity TV drama text language determines the TV drama translation from other forms of translation particularity. According to the analysis of the speci？ c case, we discussed the basics of film and television drama translation. In recent years, foreign film and television works more and more popular in China, Subtitling received more attention. Filmography is an important medium for intercultural communication that subtitling has a very important role in cross-cultural communication. By analyzing the subtitle translation of particularity, we propose the appropriate translation approach. News translation is an interlingual intercultural communication activities and news translation there are a lot of cultural barriers that improper handling will seriously affect the effect of news media, and even misleading. News translator should understand the source culture, and appropriate use of domesticating translation strategy interpretive translation means to overcome cultural barriers in order to achieve intercultural communication.

Perceptual importance analysis for H.264/AVC bit allocation

The existing H.264/AVC rate control schemes rarely include the perceptual considerations.As a result,the im-provements in visual quality are hardly comparable to those in peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR).In this paper,we propose a perceptual importance analysis scheme to accurately abstract the spatial and temporal perceptual characteristics of video contents.Then we perform bit allocation at macroblock(MB)level by adopting a perceptual mode decision scheme,which adaptively updates the Lagrangian multiplier for mode decision according to the perceptual importance of each MB.Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can efficiently reduce bit rates without visual quality degradation.

Comparison and application of subtitle design for variety shows

The subtitles are one of the added elements in the early film and television works, and subtitles can be added only when the pictures are poorly interpreted. Later, they gradually became the special effects of the variety shows. According to the current information that the author retrieved, there are relatively fewer domestic theses on the researches on the subtitle design. Although the domestic and the foreign scholars have confirmed the status of the subtitles in the film and television works, so far there is no known special work on the subtitle design, and only a handful of the journal articles have been published. Most of the researches on the subtitles are also about the functional production, and few Focus on the subtitle design. The research on the subtitle design is still at the beginning and blank stage.

Oval mucosal opening bloc biopsy after incision and widening by ring thread traction for submucosal tumor

Gastric submucosal tumors(SMTs) less than 2 cm are generally considered benign neoplasms, and endoscopic observation is recommended, but SMTs over 2 cm, 40% of which are gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs), have malignant potential. Although the Japanese Guidelines for GIST recommend partial surgical resection for GIST over 2 cm with malignant potential as well as en bloc large tissue sample to obtain appropriate and large specimens of SMTs, several reports have been published on tissue sampling of SMTs, such as with endoscopic ultrasound sound fine needle aspiration, submucosal tunneling bloc biopsy, and the combination of bite biopsy and endoscopic mucosal resection. Because a simpler, more accurate method is needed for appropriate treatment, we developed oval mucosal opening bloc biopsy after incision and widening by ring thread traction for submucosal tumor(OMOB) approach. OMOB was simple and enabled us to obtain large samples under direct procedure view as well as allowed us to restore to original mucosa.

A Review of the Application of Computer Vision to the Inspection and Assessment of Textiles Apparent Properties

Due to its advantages of objectiveness, automation, accuracy and fastness in various applications, the technology of computer vision has become one of the studying hotspots in the area of the objective inspection and assessment of textiles apparent properties during the past two decades in the world. Both a brief review of its applications in the recent decade both at home and abroad to the automatic inspection and assessment of the various apparent properties of the textiles, such as yarn, woven fabrics and knitting fabrics, carpet fabrics, nonwoven fabrics and textile webs, etc., and a detailed introduction to the research work including the objective evaluation of fabric wrinkle grade, automatic fabric defects detection and assessment of fabric pilling grade, etc., that was conducted by our research section, i.e., Computer Vision’s Textiles Application Research Section, College of Textiles, Dong Hua University, have been provided. Experimental results have proved the feasibilities of the approaches used by us in the applications to the objective inspection and assessment of fabric apparent properties, and also indicated that the technology of computer vision is a power tool for the objective and automatic inspection and assessment of textiles apparent properties, and that it has a bright application future.

Exploring the Effect of Product Placement on the US TV Programs

In this research, two television programs were analyzed to compare the type and frequency of the product placement within them, and to determine whether women or teenagers are more targeted by advertisers. The television programs were Desperate Housewives, a program targeted toward females, and Blue Mountain State, a program targeted toward male teenagers. The results of the study were analyzed using social cognition research, and ultimately determined that teenagers have become the predominant target audience for advertisers than women.

Rhetorical Devices in Dialogues of The Big Bang Theory

This paper analyzes the effect of rhetorical devices, such as irony, sarcasm, parody, hyperbole, pun, antonomasia, etc., in dialogues of the American TV series The Big Bang Theory （2007） with an aim to help improve English learners＇ awareness and appreciation of rhetorical means in English-based literary works. Instances are cited with the use of such rhetoric means in the dialogue transcriptions. It is discovered that integrated use of a variety of rhetorical devices is a significant means for vivid and impressive characterization in literature. Such an analysis is a rewarding journey on either an academic or entertainment basis, and a process of discovery and learning that may particularly be well-received with EFL （English as a Foreign Language） learners

Korean Wave： Towards Regional Cultural Diffusion？

The aim of this paper is firstly to determine if the Korean television drama Winter Sonata and its spinoffs are contributing to contemporary cross-cultural diffusion in Japan. Secondly, if cross-cultural diffusion is occurring, is it contributing to a loss of local identity？ Winter Sonata is a small but significant part of the Korean Wave and in the vanguard of Korean television drama content viewed in Japan. There have been macro political changes in East Asia, largely driven by Korea, resulting in an easing of restrictions on cross-border media trade. These in turn have progressively created a new dynamic in content and volume. The methodology used for the study is triangulation including document analysis, audience analysis, and commercial outcomes. The convergent validation derived from the three parameters advances the proposition that Winter Sonata has contributed to cultural diffusion from a Japanese perspective but not to a loss of local identity. Arguably, the process is an enriching one in East Asia reinforced by multi-lateral media trade.

Food Color Memory and Names- A Linguistic Vantage

We name colors of foods with great ease. This process is conventionalized through our cultures and our biological dictates. People identify food colors through words that are again highly constrained. Embodiment of experience and perception deals with these constraints to make color term use a cognitively economical mechanism, keeping numbers of concepts in mind through categorial conceptualization in long term memory. The parallel process that puts together our linguistic and visual information, allows the individual to map a correspondence between the two frames. The result of this mapping is a ＂cognitive color＂ in long term color memory. This paper presents an experiment in triggering long term memory and the response results. The objective was to verify whether individuals＇ cognitive color of well known foods, both raw and cooked, that they had just identified with Natural Color System （NCS） color samples, would be predominantly a primary basic color term, a secondary basic color term, or a complete descriptive utterance. The name used to communicate a desired signification is accessed through the judgement of similarity and difference with a point of reference. In this case, the food color vantage represents the cognitive color remembered.

The paper examines the assignment of the visual experience in the context of interrelation between civilization and art. Civilization is defined as ＂the survival of the weak＂. It is stressed that this definition can be applied to man, animal and every living being. Lie as ＂someone else＇s truth＂ and art as ＂the process of the creation of ＇copies of the copies of nature＇＂ are considered to be the weak man＇s tools for survival. Analyze the Thinking Quality of Host from the Host Competition reTake ＂the Sixth CCTV Television Presenter Contest＂ for Example

Color Perception of the Textile and Clothing

The color perception is related to color objects, vision system and central nervous system. The methods of evaluation, classification and prediction of the color perception are investigated and analyzed in this paper. The artificial neural networks are used for color perception, clustering and predicting based on the given data obtained from both objective measurement and subjective evaluation.
