The luminance in the road tunnel threshold zone attracts broad attention due to its enormous energy consumption and direct influence on tunnel transportation security.Current lighting design methods in threshold zones...The luminance in the road tunnel threshold zone attracts broad attention due to its enormous energy consumption and direct influence on tunnel transportation security.Current lighting design methods in threshold zones mostly adopt the reduction coefficient method.However,the determination of reduction coefficient k simply considers tunnel design speed and flow rate,while excluding outside tunnel luminance and threshold zone color temperature and luminance,which have a major impact on driver visual adaptation.Existing problems in the determination of k value are analyzed;a visual performance experiment is utilized;and the reaction time of drivers in changeable outside tunnel luminance and threshold zone color temperature and luminance conditions is obtained;thus,the equations concerning reduction coefficient variation law are derived.In the end,a comparative analysis is made of the k values of the reduction coefficient stipulated by various norms under different color temperature conditions.展开更多

To solve this problem, a novel integration method was proposed to combine hi-static ultra-wideband radar and cameras. In this recognition system, two cameras are used to localize the object's region, regions while a radar is used to obtain its 3D motion models on a mobile robot. The recognition results can be matched in the 3D motion library in order to recognize its motions. To confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method, the experimental results of recognition using vision sensors and those of recognition using the integration method were compared in different environments. Higher correct-recognition rate is achieved in the experiment.展开更多

By using the Grounded Theory research method, which refers to Glaser and Strauss, phenomenological observations and Hermeneutic-lnterpretive method of Ricouer, the process of deriving quality form an architectural presence is revealed. By connecting the Spatial Archetype Theory of LobeU, the paper reveals the "inflated ego of the Ruler as Leader" was manifested by symbol rays of Radiant Axes civilization through Soekarno's unconsciousness thought of space. The presence of architecture the National Monument serves not merely as a city landmark, but more than that, it roles as the center of orientation and development for a Jakarta Master plan conceived 50 years ago and still maintained to this day as the basic of the Jakarta City Planning 2030 In effect, this means that the National Monument plays the role as the axis of Indonesia's modem civilization.展开更多

Without sophisticated and flexible perceptual capabilities, it is impossible to create advanced artificial intelligence (AI) systems. For the next-generation AI, called 'AI 2.0', one of the most significant features will be that AI is empowered with intelligent perceptual capabilities, which can simulate human brain's mechanisms and are likely to surpass human brain in terms of performance. In this paper, we briefly review the state-of-the-art advances across different areas of perception, including visual perception, auditory perception, speech perception, and perceptual information processing and learning engines. On this basis, we envision several R&D trends in intelligent perception for the forthcoming era of AI 2.0, including: (1) human-like and transhuman active vision; (2) auditory perception and computation in an actual auditory setting; (3) speech perception and computation in a natural interaction setting; (4) autonomous learning of perceptual information; (5) large-scale perceptual information processing and learning platforms; and (6) urban omnidirectional intelligent perception and reasoning engines. In this work, we present a transparent, matrix-structure dual functional capacitive sensor which integrates the capability of proximity and pressure sensing in one device, and the excellent spatial resolution offered by the isolated response of capacitive pixels enables us to realize precise location identification of approaching objects and loaded pressure with fast response, high stability and high reversibility.展开更多
