网络“四字格”新语传播使用的调查研究

网络上最近流行的诸多"四字格"新语引起了大众的广泛关注。本文以语言演变与词语竞争、词语的构成理据等观点为依托,通过抽样调查、定量分析等方法,分析网络"四字格"新语的构成,产生原因,及其发展、传播与使用情况,并预测其未来的发展趋势。

弟文兄诠 华萼相辉——简论窦暨《述书赋》与窦蒙的《注》和《语例字格》

本文从三个方面论述了唐中叶著名书论家窦暨的《述书赋》和窦蒙为该赋所作《注》及《语例字格》:一是《述书赋》产生的时代背景和窦氏兄弟成书的概况;二是《述书赋》在书论史上的地位、成就和特色;三是窦蒙的《注》和《语例字格》的特殊体例、美学价值和原赋的血肉关系。

用语形隐喻归类汉语修辞格——以《汉语修辞格大辞典》中的42个修辞格为例

基于Quintilian对隐喻替代本质的论断,采用Halliday从语言层次研究隐喻的方法,从一致形式和隐喻形式之间的逻辑关系角度出发,提出“语形隐喻”这一概念。语形隐喻是指一致形式向与其具有某种逻辑关系的隐喻形式转换,并在语篇中体现出相同意义的语言现象。语形隐喻共包括六种类型:语形正转喻和语形负转喻、语形正提喻和语形负提喻、语形正隐喻和语形负隐喻。这六种语形隐喻可以将《汉语修辞格大辞典》中的42个修辞格归类为一个系统,该系统能够为修辞格教学以及修辞格辞典的编撰提供新的思路。

Idiom Comprehension of Chinese Patients With Aphasia: A Case Study

Previous studies on idiom comprehension of patients with aphasia(PWAs)mainly focused on Indo-European speakers,examining whether PWAs could correctly extract the target meaning of idioms,while among Chinese PWAs,idiom familiarity,context and other variables affecting idiom comprehension were rarely studied.Hence,this study aims to explore whether Chinese PWAs can correctly comprehend the target meaning of idioms,and further investigate the role of familiarity and context.For three Chinese PWAs,this study adopted the string-to-word matching task,taking Chinese four-character idioms as the experimental stimuli,and provided decoy words containing target meaning,literal meaning,unrelated abstract meaning and unrelated concrete meaning as the matching words of idiom items by manipulating the familiarity and contextual presence of idiom items.The results suggested that the PWAs could not correctly extract the target meaning of idioms and presented both the literal meaning tendency and the weak abstract meaning tendency,and the influence of familiarity on the comprehension of idioms was stronger than that of context.These results support the Graded Salience Hypothesis.

释意策略在汉语习惯表达语交传中的应用——以李克强总理2016年记者会交传为例

法国释意派提出的释意策略,其核心理论是脱离语言外壳进行翻译,是口译过程中采用的行之有效策略之一。汉语习惯表达语大多与文化、历史、典故等密切关联,往往形成英语中的词汇空缺,加之口译的即席性和即时性要求很好地把控精力分配,因此极大增加了翻译的难度。结合李克强总理2016年记者会交替传译,分析译员对三字格表达语和四字格习惯表达语的处理,从中洞察释意策略所发挥的作用和效果。

A text to speech interface for Universal Digital Library

The objective of Universal Digital Library (UDL) is to capture all books in digital format. A text to speech (TTS) interface for UDL portal would enable access to the digital content in voice mode, and also provide access to the digital content for illiterate and vision-impaired people. Our work focuses on design and implementation of text to speech interface for UDL portal primarily for Indian languages. This paper is aimed at identifying the issues involved in integrating text to speech system into UDL portal and describes the development process of Hindi, Telugu and Tamil voices under Festvox framework using unit selection techniques. We demonstrate the quality of the Tamil and Telugu voices and lay out the plan for integrating the TTS into the UDL portal.

The Problems in Trademark Translation and Their Solutions

The good translation of trademarks should be accepted by most customers, which is the purpose of the trademarks translation. It arouses people＇s attention to the problems existing in trademark translation. This paper probes two main problematic aspects in trademark translation： the problems in the aspect of the culture and the problems in the aspect of the language. Based on the main translating rule of ＂equivalence principle＂, it attempts to focus on the solutions to tackle the problems.

Analysing Shakespeare＇s Emblem Language in Midsummer Night＇s Dream

Shakespeare has been studied from many perspectives so far. However, his language style used in his literary works is still worth studying. First of all, this study explores changing sense of emblem and emblem language comparing Shakespeare＇s era and today. Secondly, it puts stress on the effects of emblem traditions on Shakespeare. Lastly, this article aims to shed light on his emblematical language in his Midsummer Night＇s Dream, which is one of his most leading works in terms of having highly visible emblematical interpretations.

Reflectivity/Impulsivity as an Important Individual Factor and Effectiveness of Awareness Raising Activities

This paper is a summary of the studies done on the importance of the cognitive styles especially reflectivity/impulsivity on the process of language acquisition. It discusses the importance of this cognitive style as an important factor on the effectiveness of awareness raising activities. In the previous studies, the importance of awareness raising has been found as an effective and facilitating factor in the process of the L2 （second language） acquisition, but the effect of different individual factors on its being usefulness has not been focused on; therefore, this study is an attempt to review and explore the importance of one of the individual factors, i.e., being reflective/impulsive cognitive style on the effectiveness of awareness raising activities. It is gathered that learners with different cognitive styles （being reflective/impulsive） react differently to the awareness giving activities, and the study tries to emphasize the importance of this factor on the usefulness of awareness raising and emphasizes the fact that in the field of awareness giving this factor should be attached impotence and accounted for as an effective factor.

From Martial Arts to Practice： A Philosophical Examination of the Term Martial Art

The term martial art is used as a heading to discuss a wide range of combative styles; however, the term is deployed in ways that exposes a disconnection between the term and the styles to which it is referring. In this paper, I explore the disconnection between the martial arts and posit that martial art is an oxymoron as described by Michel de Certeau. As an alternative to the oxymoronic use of martial art, I examine two conceptions of practice： the first advanced by Alasdair Maclntyre and applied to martial arts by Charles Hackney; the second advanced by Todd May and amended with ideas from Noel Carroll. The latter conception of practice begins to establish a new way to consider the relationships among the combative styles and how these can be incorporated into the term martial arts, thereby quelling the disconnection between the term and the styles.

Language Style Reflected by Tourist English Hypertext

Corpus-based linguistic approach is one of the most used text studies. Nowadays, stylistic analysis has been adopted to shed new light on tourism English. The topic is to apply the language theory--the stylistic analysis to the tourist text analysis, to discover the style essence of Tourist English Hypertext. The stylistic features include graphological analysis of Tourist English Hypertext, lexical features in hypertext, syntactical analysis of Tourist English Hypertext. It summarizes online Tourist English Hypertext information with some typical samples, with the methods of examples and analysis. It aims to offer an in-depth insight into the stylistic features of online tourism English texts, helping people to grasp the key points of the online information when they are browsing the information on the Internet. So this paper both enlarges the application of the stylistic analysis and presents summary for online tourist information.

Relationship Between English Learning Strategies and Learning Style Preferences： An Empirical Study

In recent years, research emphasis in the field of SLA （second language acquisition） has shifted to the study of the learning process and behaviors of learners than that of teachers. Researches concerning the learners＇ language learning strategies and learning styles have been conducted in different cultural backgrounds. However, comparatively speaking, there are few studies focusing on the relationship between language learning strategies and learning style preferences in English learning among Chinese students. This paper elaborates on the research questions and hypotheses according to the English Learning Questionnaire, which consists primarily of SILL （Strategy Inventory for Language Learning） （Oxford, 1990） and PLSP （Perceptual Learning Style Preference） Survey （Reid, 1987） to identify their English learning strategy uses and learning style preferences. Then, with statistical analysis （by SPSS （Statistical Product and Service Solutions）） of the results of the questionnaire, discussions are made on the correlation between learning strategies, learning style preferences, and their gender differences, followed by pedagogical implications for English teaching and learning in the university settings in China.

A Contrastive Analysis in Language and Register Style of the Two English Versions of Jin’s Yizuo Changqiao

This paper is a contrastive study of two translated versions of an essay which are very different in language and register style. It comes to the conclusion that the translator has to follow the fundamental translation principle of functional equivalence, that is, to faithfully reproduce the linguistic and stylistic features of the original, while retaining the verbal beauty of the original as much as possible. Through contrastive analysis, this paper also argues that stylistic features should be consistent with the choice of word, syntactic structures, rhetorical devices, and overall textual layout.

The Syntax of Lattice-Valued Propositional Logic System lp(X)

Lattice-valued logic plays an important role in multi-valued logic systems. A lattice valued logic system lp(X) is constructed. The syntax of lp(X) is discussed. It may be more convenient in application and study especially in the case that the valuation domain is finite lattice implication algebra.

Insight of schema theory into interpretation practice

Schema is an important concept in cognitive psychology, referring to how different types of information are connected in our brain, and the process of activating stored information. In view of modern schema theory, this paper focuses on its application in the three stages of interpretation practice. Schema plays a role in preparation before interpretation, which includes enhancing the interpreter＇s linguistic competence, and enlarging his storage of background information; schema influences performance during interpretation in terms of comprehension and note-taking; summary after interpretation is to supplement original schema. With the guidance of schema theory, interpretation practice can be carried out in an effective way.

Does Time Studying of Spanish Make Learners More Cognizant of Their Learning Styles？ Evidence From Novice and Senior L2 Spanish Learners

This study explored the perceptual learning style preferences in L2 （second language） Spanish. A group of first-semester and fifth-semester university students participated. The aim was to verify whether time studying of Spanish would strengthen learning preferences making senior students more cognizant of their preferred styles. Senior students were, therefore, more expected to self-report major （i.e., strong） style preferences than novice students. The participants completed a style questionnaire and named preferred in-class language activities. Results showed that the novice rather than the senior students, self-reported strong style preferences. The senior students consistently reported minor preferences and named activities that favored peer collaboration over perceptual styles. It is likely that after several semesters of learning Spanish, senior students were less certain as to whether language learning relies on strong style preferences. Instead, they probably learned to acknowledge the benefits of a flexible disposition, integrating several minor style preferences for a successful learning of Spanish.

This article combined with stylistic letter, takes ＂Fu Lei Letter＂ as the corpus to study online behavior polite language.

Developing Nominalization Awareness in Teaching Writing to Chinese Learners of English

Nominalization is one of the grammatical features introduced by Halliday and his colleagues in SFL （Systemic Functional Linguistics） theory. It helps create a style of writing with density, complexity, and abstract. For English learners, it is crucial to develop nominalization awareness in their writing. This paper first examines the main features ofnominalization in English; it then contrasts the writing style differences before and after the students were taught the features of nominalization and discusses problems found in teaching of nominalization. It finally provides some pedagogical implications for teaching writing to Chinese learners of English.

Narrative Techniques in The Waterfall

Though a bit strange to Chinese readers, Margaret Drabble is well known in Britain literature field. Her novels mainly reflect the life of middle class woman intellectual. And The Waterfall （1967） is in the book list that must be read by English majors. This paper mainly analyzes the narrative characteristics of Margaret Drabble＇s famous novel The Waterfall from three aspects ofnarratology, narrative temporality, focalization, and narrating voice. The Waterfall is unique in writing style： It has no chapters, and each part is divided by asterisk, what is more, ＂I＂ and ＂she＂ appear alternatively. It consists of two alternatively appeared plotlines, one is the line of story, the other is the line of psychology. In the line of story, traditional narrative techniques are usually used, whereas in the line of psychology, new narrative techniques are often found. All these show that the author is trying to adopt new writing form, while at the same time she cannot completely give up the old ones. Therefore, this novel appears half-old and half-new characteristics in narrative characteristics.
