The motivation of this work is to obtain single PI/PID tuning formula for different types of processes with enhanced disturbance rejection performance. The proposed tuning formula consistently gives better performance in comparison to several well-known methods at the same degree of robustness for stable, integrating and unstable processes. For the selection of the closed-loop time constant(τc), a guideline is provided over a broad range of time-delay/time-constant ratios on the basis of the peak of maximum sensitivity(Ms). An analysis has been performed for the uncertainty margin with the different process parameters for the robust controller design. It gives the guideline of the Ms-value settings for the PI controller designs based on the process parameters uncertainty. Furthermore, a relationship has been developed between Ms-value and uncertainty margin with the different process parameters(k, τ and θ). Simulation study has been conducted for the broad class of processes and the controllers are tuned to have the same degree of robustness by measuring the maximum sensitivity, Ms, in order to obtain a reasonable comparison. 展开更多

In order to solve the decoupling control problem of multivariable system with time delays,a new decoupling Smith control method for multivariable system with time delays was proposed. Firstly,the decoupler based on the adjoint matrix of the multivariable system model with time delays was introduced,and the decoupled models were reduced to first-order plus time delay models by analyzing the amplitude-frequency and phase-frequency characteristics. Secondly,according to the closed-loop characteristic equation of Smith predictor structure,proportion integration (PI) controllers were designed following the principle of pole assignment for Butterworth filter. Finally,using small-gain theorem and Nyquist stability criterion,sufficient and necessary conditions for robust stability were analyzed with multiplicative uncertainties,which could be encountered frequently in practice. The result shows that the method proposed has superiority for response speed and load disturbance rejection performance. 展开更多

To study the approximation theory of real sliding mode and the design of variable structure controller for time-invariant linear uncertain time-delay singular system,the approximation theory of real sliding mode was developed to provide foundation for obtaining sliding mode by equivalent control,and switching functions with integral dynamic compensators and variable structure controllers were designed respectively under two circumstances that the system without uncertain part was stabilized by delay-dependent and delay-independent linear state feedback. The design guarantees the asymptotical stablity of switching manifolds,and the variable structure controllers can force solution trajectory of the system to arrive at the switching manifolds in limited time. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the feasibility and simplicity of the design method. 展开更多

In this paper, the preprocessing of input speech to reduce the bit rate is different from the conventional vocoder. Different kinds of parameter are used for the preprocessing compared with the other parameters to t'md the more appropriate parameter for the vocoder. The Parameters are used to synthesize the speech not to encode or decode for coding technique so we proposed the simple algorithm not to have the influence on the processing time or the computation time. This paper is concerned with the problem of observer-based fuzzy control design for discrete-time T-S fuzzy bilinear stochastic systems with infinite-distributed delays. Based on the piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functional (PQLF), the fuzzy observer-basedcontrollers are designed for T-S fuzzy bilinear stochastic systems. It is shown that the stability in the mean square for discrete T-S fuzzy bilinear stochastic systems can be established if there exists a set of PQLF can be constructed and the fuzzy observer-based controller can be obtained by solving a set of nonlinear minimization problem involving linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) constraints. An iterative algorithm making use of sequential linear programming matrix method (SLPMM) to derive a single-step LMI condition for fuzzy observer-based control design. Finally, an illustrative example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the results proposed in this paper. 展开更多

We first present a new multi-modular shunt active power filter system suitable for large-capacity compensation. Each module in the system has the same circuit topology, system functionality, and controller design, to achieve coordination control among the modules. The module's reference signals are obtained by multiplying the total reference signal by the respective distribution coefficient. Next, a novel fault-tolerant approach is proposed based on split-phase control in the a-b-c frame and real-time bus communication. When a phase fault occurs, instead of halting the whole module, the proposed strategy isolates only the faulted bridge arm, and then recalculates the distribution coefficients and transfers the compensation capacity to the same phases of the other normal modules, resulting in a continuous operation of the faulted module and optimization of the remaining usable power devices. Through steady-state analysis of the post-fault circuit, the system stability and control reliability are proven to be high enough to guarantee its engineering application value. Finally, a prototype is established and experimental results show the validity and feasibility of the proposed multi-modular system and its fault-tolerant control strategy. 展开更多
