It estimates the DOA by measuring the reciprocal of the phase range of the sensor output spectra at the interest frequency bin. The peak width and variance of the PDM are presented. The PDM can distinguish closely spaced sources with different and unknown center frequencies as long as they are separated with at least one frequency bin. The simulation results show that the PDM has a better resolution than that of the conventional beamforming.展开更多

By means of the performance analysis, the closed-form expressions of average packet error rate(APER)and overall average spectral efficiency(ASE)of distributed massive MIMO systems with CLD are derived based on the conditional probability density function of each user’s approximate effective signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and the switching thresholds under the target packet loss rate(PLR)constraint.With these results,using the approximation of complementary error functions,the approximate APER and overall ASE are also deduced. Simulation results illustrate that the obtained theoretical ASE and APER can match the corresponding simulations well. Besides,the target PLR requirement is satisfied,and the distributed massive MIMO systems offer an obvious performance gain over the co-located massive MIMO systems.展开更多
Hypothesis testing analysis and unknown parameter estimation of both the intermediate frequency(IF) and baseband GPS signal detection are given by using the generalized likelihood ratio test(GLRT) approach,applying th...Hypothesis testing analysis and unknown parameter estimation of both the intermediate frequency(IF) and baseband GPS signal detection are given by using the generalized likelihood ratio test(GLRT) approach,applying the model of GPS signal in white Gaussian noise,It is proved that the test statistic follows central or noncentral F distribution,It is also pointed out that the test statistic is nearly identical to central or noncentral chi-squared distribution because the processing samples are large enough to be considered as infinite in GPS acquisition problem.It is also proved that the probability of false alarm,the probability of detection and the threshold are affected largely when the hypothesis testing refers to the full pseudorandom noise(PRN) code phase and Doppler frequency search space cells instead of each individual cell.The performance of the test statistic is also given with combining the noncoherent integration.展开更多
Theoretical frequencies of green area index (GAI) measurements were assessed in order to bring out the optimum frequencies for the monitoring of the senescence of winter wheat as well as the relationships between me...Theoretical frequencies of green area index (GAI) measurements were assessed in order to bring out the optimum frequencies for the monitoring of the senescence of winter wheat as well as the relationships between metrics which could be derived and the final grain yield. Several profiles of GAI decreasing curves were elaborated based on field measurements. Two functions, usually employed in green leaf area decreasing curves fitting (i.e., modified Gompertz and logistic functions) were then used to characterize the senescence phase and to calculate their metrics. These analyses showed that the two curve fitting functions satisfactorily described the senescence phase on frequencies of four to six GAI measurements, well distributed throughout a period of 30-35 days. The regression-based modeling showed that those involving metrics from logistic function (i.e., maximum value of GAI, green area duration and senescent rate) were more suitable than that of the modified Gompertz function for wheat yield estimates. Such results could be useful for studies at larger scales (involving remote sensing airplane or satellite data) and focused on the senescence in terms of optimum number of measurements and frequencies for developing models for yield estimates.展开更多

The measurement investigation to demonstrate the actual situation of the environmental vibration was carried out for several years. The measurement manual for each vibration source such as operations of factory machine, construction works, road traffics and railways to unify measurement methods was made at the start. From the measurement investigation, the vibration amplification characteristics of the detached house by one-third octave frequency in Japan was analyzed as a purpose to improve estimated precision of the vibration in a detached house. In this paper, the vibration amplification characteristic expressed at onethird octave band frequency was shown, and the characteristics was arranged about a result measured with 27 detached houses in Japan.展开更多
