Disturbed state concept (DSC) theory is based on the utilization of the hard- ening model. DSC indirectly describes material behavior by claiming that the actual response of the material is expressed in terms of the relative intact (RI) response and the fully adjusted (FA) response. The occurrence of mesoscopic structural changes of material has similarities with the occurrence of a macroscopic response of the material under loadings. In general, the relative changing value of a softening material is three to five times more than that of a hardening material. Whether special zones exist or not in a specimen cross section does not affect the following conclusion: hardening material and softening material show me- chanical differences with CT statistical indices values prominently changing, and the change is related to the superposing of a disturbance factor. A new disturbance factor evolution function is proposed. Thus, mesoscopic statistical indices are introduced to describe macroscopic behavior through the new evolution function. An application of the new evolution function proves the effectiveness of the amalgamation of a macroscopic and a mesoscopic experimental phenomenon measurement methods.展开更多

It was found that by applying a combined diluted fuel and oxidant instead of their uncombined and/or undiluted states, the best condition is obtained for the establishment of HPDAC's main unique features. These features are low mean and maximum gas temperature and high radiation/total heat transfer to gas and tubes; as well as more uniformity of theirs distributions which results in decrease in NOx pollutant formation and increase in furnace efficiency or energy saving. Moreover, a variety of chemical flame shape, the process fluid and tubes walls temperatures profiles, the required regenerator efficiency and finally the concentration and velocity patterns have been also qualitatively/quantitatively studied.展开更多

It contains geometrical structure and optical property of high power LED as well as LED dies definition with its spatial and angular distribution. Merits and non-merits of traditional modeling methods when applied to high power LEDs based on secondary optical design are discussed. Two commercial high power LEDs are simulated using the proposed computer modeling method. Correlation coefficient is proposed to compare and analyze the simulation results and manufacturing specifications. The source model is precisely demonstrated by obtaining above 99% in correlation coefficient with different surface incident angle intervals.展开更多

For the system has only one excited state, the computer simulation and analysis lead to the conclusions that, the number of refractory states does not influence the wave-front speed; the wave- front speed decreases as the excitation threshold increases and increases as the neighbor radius increases; the period of target waves is equal to the number of cell states; the excitation condition for target waves is that the wave-front speed must be bigger than half of the neighbor radius.展开更多

The growing needs and ever increasing use of computer systems have made application development more and more complicated, The complexity of these applications poses problems such as reuse, installation, administration and evolution of applications. The development of applications is related to the evolution of paradigms and approaches to developing them. This paper presents different approaches and paradigms of development starting with the procedural approach, coming up for service, through the component and object-oriented approaches. Also, for each of the approaches we determine the advantages and limitations.展开更多

In this way, several tools to be used on different descriptions stage of the designs are necessary. This paper presents a tool called SF^2HDL (Stateflow to Hardware Description Language or State Transition Table) that translates a finite state machine on state transition diagram representation, described by Stateflow tool, into an input file standard for TABELA program or into a file behavioral VHDL (Very High Speed Integrated Circuits Hardware Description Language) directly. The TABELA program was used to optimization this finite state machine. After that, the TAB2VHDL program was used to generate the VHDL code on register transfer level, what permits comparisons with results obtained by synthesis. The finite state machine must be described by Mealy model and the user can describe the machine on high level abstraction using all Simulink supports. The tool was very efficient on computational cost and it made translation of several cases, for the two VHDL description models. Every state machine translated was simulated and implemented on device EP2C20F484C7 using Quartus II environment.展开更多

Using recursive method, this paper studies the transient property of the queue size from the initial state N(0+) = i. Some new results about the recursive expression of the transient queue size distribution at any epoch n+ and the recursive formulae of the equilibrium distribution are obtained. Furthermore, the recursive formulae of the equilibrium queue size distribution at epoch n-, and n are obtained, too. The important relations between stationary queue size distributions at different epochs are discovered (being different from the relations given in M/G/I queueing system). The model discussed in this paper can be widely applied in all kinds of communications and computer network.展开更多

This reaction involves both substitution and abstraction. Calculations show that the hydrogen abstraction is the strongest competing channel. The canonical variational transition state theory with a small curvature tunneling correction (SCT) has been used for the kinetic calculation. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the available experimental data. Comparing the reactions of atomic hydrogen with disilane and silane, it can be seen that the reactivity of the Si-H bond is higher in Si2H6than that in SiH4.展开更多
